You can tell who all in this comment section have insecurity issues. They automatically go on a defensive and want to compare cars and age. Totally missing the point of this. Happiness is not doing what others like. It's in liking what others have to offer. Instead of comparing yourself or thinking its a competition. Look for what good she has to offer and appreciate it. Otherwise you're always going to feel insecure and less than others. A young beautiful girl that's found what it takes to be happy. Which is have a purpose for YOURSELF be a part of something bigger than yourself and help others along the way.

    • @ryanz3216
      @ryanz3216 6 лет назад +1

I agree, but I don't think that's the only reason people mention how many cars they have. At least not for me. I think age is irrelevant, but majority of the people I know personally think I'm crazy for having more than one car. I like mentioning to others on the internet what cars I have because I think, unlike some people in my personal life, these people will actually appreciate the cars.

I'm actually really touched to see other self made technicians doing their thing. I've been a (mostly) self taught technician for only about 9 years. I knew nothing about cars when I picked up my 94 Camaro at 18. I learned quick and now I'm in the business to help save people from notoriously nightmarish repair bills. I'll be honest, I clicked on the video because there was a very pretty woman working on a car amidst my Cleetus McFarland-cluttered suggested videos, but I was very happy realizing that you do know what you are doing and it installs some faith in me about my own endeavors. Some of these comments are BS, but I hope you keep up the good work. With the industry moving in the way it is, I hope there are more people out there like you, I and many others that are willing to do what they need to do to stay on the road and help others stay on the road as well. Thank you for taking the time to share this video and all of your others. :)

When I got into cars, I stopped going out on the drink. I had a couple of imprezas, bmw e36's, mercedes c-class, mx5 so on and so forth. Right now I'm into a brand of car which you've probably never heard of, it's a British brand which was defunct in 2005. The cars aren't anything amazing, but the people you meet from the clubs etc. are amazing. Some times it's not about the brand of car you drive but the people you meet within the circles. Love it. Cars are my life now, nothing can stop that.

Inspiring. I've been following you for about 2 months now. I really enjoy your vlog. I stumbled upon your videos due to my interest on an LS swap for a 2001 Jeep Wrangler I bought earlier this year. My daily is a 2004 Cadillac Escalade, so I'm a huge fan of the 5.3 vortec that's in that vehicle. Also, while on a long vacation in Miami, I helped one of my best friends' customize a cruiser into a bobber. He asked me to stay and help because he's never done anything mechanical to an auto of any kind. We took that bike from a broke down 06 Yamaha V-Star cruiser, to a custom v-star bobber that runs clean. This was my first time working with carburetors. Anyways, this rekindled my love for motorcycles. I owned an 03 Yamaha R-1 when I was 24. I still regret selling that bike. Well.... upon coming back from staycation, I bought a 1985 BMW K100 to customize into a cafe racer. Long story short.... I have a 01 Jeep Wrangler Project and a 85 BMW K100 Project. I've been debating on video blogging. Any info would be appreciated to get started.

lmao wtf First of all, she used her college savings to buy her first car instead of using it for college. Second, buying an incomplete, motor-swapped, Nissan S14 is cheap; a secondhand Subaru isn't that expensive, also. And having friends who are mechanics, and being a beginner mechanic herself at that time, she worked on her cars by herself and her friends which helped save costs. Plus, if she's "that" rich, she'd be driving at least a Mercedes, not a fucking Prius. She only started having all this money after doing RUclips for a while and exploring all the business opportunities that come with it.

I'm 47 and still making payments on my 2015 Mustang. I have owned a bunch of cars. Some were nice most were pieces of crap that barely ran but they got me to my job. Once for about 3 years I had my Grandfather's 69' Chevy C-10 truck. It was loaded with a 3 speed automatic, A/C, power steering, power brakes with the 350ci V8. AND a 1992 Mustang LX hatchback with a 5 speed manual. I inherited the truck and bought the Mustang with the money the U.S. Navy was paying me for my service. Those were good times. Put over $3000 into the truck just so it was reliable and safe to drive. It needed everything, brakes, tires, alternator, water pump, battery, universal joints, exhaust, hoses, belts, new wiring harness. What a nightmare. It was badass. I miss it. I lost both vehicles in a flood. I was 25 and didn't know the truck would be ok. Obviously the Mustang was not, it was loaded too. power everything and all those computers were ruined.

A good story that had me looking back at the past few months, wrecked my first car after owning it for literally two weeks and then had to get back on my feet pretty quickly because I still needed to get to and from college, my car which is a virtually unmoddable automatic Ford focus station wagon has reminded me that I need to get back in the game and this is what happens when you get to reckless behind the wheel.

What! You were in Chicago? I know this video is like 3 months old LOL I don't know why it just popped up in my newsfeed, but your story on how you got into cars it's so inspirational, and now that you're becoming a big RUclipsr it inspires me so much. I love seeing people's car builds, I graduated high school 1 one year ago and life outside of high school is so hard, I'm not going to college, I work at my dad's Auto Body shop. Which is okay because I get to work on cars, paints cars. But it doesn't really allow me to move on forward, working 40 hours or more a week and making anywhere from 100 to $200 a week pay my own insurance which for me is around 150 a month plus my phone bill and gas, there's not much money to save for college or anything else. I honestly kind of feel trapped but I don't want to leave my dad's shop. Because that's basically how we pay our house bills. I feel like I've been depressed ever since I graduated high school, I feel like I can't move on forward. I don't really know how to change that. I'm 18, I have a camera. I might start recording what I do at the shop, so painting cars and doing custom paint jobs, I just painted a Subaru STI a couple months ago. I don't really know how it'll go, hopefully people are interested in watching. Your life Journey seems so amazing, you seem like such an awesome person. I'm in Aurora Illinois, hopefully I'll make it to one of your meets one day. Or maybe if this RUclips thing kicks off we might do a collaboration. But that's a stretch LOL you're awesome keep making videos I'll keep watching them, maybe I'll make a couple of my own. And maybe one day you'll watch one of mine :-)

That makes for a great vlog, and I hope she keeps enjoying making them for years and years.

Crazy how much your story resonates with me. I went to college in Chicago and went through some shit at the end that really made me feel like I needed to get out of town so I ended up moving in with a friend in Bloomington for about 6 months. My depression ended up getting a lot worse while I was there, but the thing that saved me was rediscovering my love of cars that I had from before I went to music school. It was the only escape from all the pressure I kept putting on myself. So I moved home to LA and started trying to get involved in the car scene. I know its not quite the same thing, but its just really cool to see someone else for whom cars got them out of a tough spot in their life, also works in an underpaid creative field, and coincidentally spent time in the same places.
As for everyone measuring their dicks in the comments, I'm 24 and I share a car with my grandmother. Who the hell cares as long as you have fun.

This is a beautiful video. I love the city of Chicago. I remember coming to Chicago back in 2007 for the first time when my Uncle lived there near grant park. Then I came back earlier this year when I moved to Michigan working for GM in Milford.
Once employed again, I immediately drove over to Chicago JDM from Detroit and looked at a 2JZGTE engine for my Mk3 Supra Turbo; that weekend I gave a deposit on the 2JZ and came back two weeks later (March 4th 2017) with a rented Ford F150 pickup to get my engine. Then I came back to Chicago again (around July 1st) with my Mk3 Supra Turbo to get my 7MGTE engine tuned by Sound Performance - yes it put down 400+whp but the engine was on its way out (low compression). Most people say I wasted money getting my 7M engine tuned where I should have just thrown it into the 2JZ swap/conversion instead. But I always wanted to see what my 7M engine could do on the stock bottom end when I was in college but didn't have the money to build/tune it.
I was in Chicago three times this year; Chicago was a lot of fun this year....it could have been better meeting Emelia too. But it being around thanksgiving, I went back home to family in NYC.

zetor141 RUclips has become the one place where people can freely and entirely become complete assholes. You can criticize someone for anything and everything with no real consequences. It doesn't take any guts or character to rip someone down on the internet...something you never do to a persons face. What is rare these days on RUclips is someone having the good character to say something positive. Sad but true.
In the case these videos, all Emelia tried to do was tell her story of growing up through the lens of the cars she's owned. Since a person who will talk shit doesn't even watch the whole video the majority of their critique comes from the title alone.

It's interesting how things happen. My first car was a 1990 BMW 325is that my dad passed on to me. I still have it actually. He bought it in 1995 for my mom, but I was born shortly after so she leased a 525i and my dad ended up driving the 325is until 2002 when he parked it. in 2013 we put it back together, did a tune up and tires and inspected it so I could drive it. When I daily drove it in high school, I had dreams of getting a second car, but it didn't happen. Right as I was about it graduate, the automatic transmission failed, so I replaced it with a 2004 325xi, which lasted a day before someone t-boned me and totalled it. So I replaced that with a 1980 BMW 633CSi because I make bad decisions, then when a Prius cut me off in traffic I traded the 633CSi for a 2007 Suzuki GZ250 motorcycle and bought a 2007 BMW 335i convertible. The convertible was my first "fast car" and I had a lot of fun with it. I still had had the 325is at the time needing a new transmission, and I had some money saved up so I decided to swap it with a manual transmission. Problem was, the car was technically titled to mother, but my dad had physical possession of the title and considered it his car. He had intentions of replacing the automatic transmission in it and driving it like he did before he gave it to me. So instead of swapping that car, I bought a 1979 BMW 320i with all the iS bits to tinker around with. Even though I learned a lot about cars from my 325is and 633CSi, I got really deep into this car. I rebuilt the top end by hand, I had the distributor rebuilt and completely dialed in the suspension myself. The previous owner had installed fog lights (which were really Mercedes Benz headlights wired to a switch) and a very 80s audio setup into the HVAC wiring, as well as added a fuel pump kill switch, so I ended up taking every single electronic component out of the car and re-wiring it (this wasn't as bad as it sounds, the car had mechanical fuel injection and therefore did not have a computer or a major engine harness). I was going attempt to do body work, as this car needed a lot of it, and I even built a new motor. I built a stock M10B20 into an M10B22 with a hot cam and I swapped the CIS fuel injection system for twin Weber side draft carbs. Engine originally made 215whp (up from 90whp) but the powerband didn't start until 5800 RPMs, so I swapped to a less aggressive cam making 180whp at a much more streetable 3200 RPMs. Before I could tackle the body work though, I traded the car. One night I was sitting in my old 325is and decided I wanted another E30, so I traded the car for a 1987 325es. The car came with all the sport package bits as my 1990, but with the weak 2.7 liter engine, making 120bhp compared to the 2.5 in my 1990 that made 170bhp. The owner claimed they did the well known head swap on the 2.5 to make a 2.8 liter stroker (properly done will make about 175-180bhp with much more torque), but whoever did the swap swapped only the head and neglected to swap the intake, fuel system, pistons and ECU, which resulted in an actual loss of power because the car burnt at least one valve and lowered compression due to the use of the 2.7 flat top pistons instead of the 2.5 pop ups. So I decided to build an S50 engine from the E36 M3, and during the middle of the build I discovered the block was cracked and repair would cost more than a replacement. So I put the build on hold which I sourced another motor, and before eventually decided that building an actual M20 2.8 liter stroker with ITBs and a cam would be more fun than an S50 even if it would have lower dyno numbers, so on my way home from Maryland with a 1987 325i convertible that had a good engine for my new build, the 325es got totalled by a mini cooper, resulting in an expensive tow bill and a slightly beat up convertible with a shell. What I should have done was take the best parts of both 87s (they were both white too so I could mix and match body panels) and make one good car, but instead I yanked the transmission from the coupe and put it in my 1990 and brought that back to life, put all the good parts on the 87 convertible and traded that for a 1969 Chevrolet El Camino which needed a new frame. Not my brightest moment. I ended up selling the El Camino for $400 after doing nothing to it because the township I lived in wouldn't let me keep it on my property, and then I used that $400 to buy a 1986 Chevrolet K30 lifted 6" on 35" tires with a 400whp 350ci V8. it had a 4spd stick and 3.73 LSD diffs in the front and rear, but the problem with that was that the increase in tire size meant that I needed 4.56 ratio differential gears if I wanted to get stock acceleration, or lower the truck. Both options cost more than I cared to spend on this truck. It only cost $400 but I bought it from a Honda Bro who didn't know anything about carburetors and thought the truck needed a new engine. Cleaned it out and adjusted the jets and it ran like a top. Sold it for $3300 to buy parts for the 1990 325is, then traded the 335i in for a 2018 Chevrolet Cruze lease because the turbos and steering rack were just about to fail... what a wild ride.

I owned 3 at 24. The problem tho.. Having that many cars comes with a constant need to throw money and time at them. I started with a 91 Ford Ranger at 16. Bought my 99 RSTi when I was 18. Over the years I turned it into a full-on "racecar" with a built stroker motor, built 5sp with straight cuts, etc. that was constantly breaking things due to weak factory parts that I should have upgraded sooner. All the parts were expensive so sometimes it would sit broken for months at a time. The 2nd was my BRZ. I got it at 22 when my Ranger started sounding like a diesel that was ready to explode. It came with a $500/mo car note + insurance and required routine maintenance that wasn't cheap..actually it was about as expensive as maintenance on the RSTi! It got a rear sway bar, k&n drop in, STI wheels and some vinyl wrap on the roof and spoiler the first month I had it and that was it. The BRZ became my daily. It was about half as fast as the RSTi, but reliable. By 24 I bought another car with the intention to fix and resell. It was an 84 Datsun 300zx that needed the turbo rebuilt. I really didn't have time to devote to it so it sat. I got it for $600 and planned to flip it, but quickly figured out it had major rust, mold, and oil leak problems that needed to be addressed before I could make enough profit to make it worth my while. I slowly started going over the 300 and got a game plan together to fix it up some and to eventually sell the BRZ to get out of the note. It sat for a couple years due to the fact I didn't have the time from maintaining the other two and the extra funds from the monthly expenses of the BRZ mixed with the "money pit" that is the RSTi left me without much of a budget to put into the 300. Well, this past April someone turned in front of me and the BRZ got totaled out. Now the RSTi is my daily and I now have more time and money to put into the Datsun. Once it's fixed I won't be buying any more vehicles unless I sell one first or I can get it without a note or it needing tons of work.

Owned 13 since 16 and am 24 now, however I love working on em and getting bored so trade up. Given some away, gotten some free or cheap just depends. I love what i do andam sure she loves what she does. Its not a crime to be proud of the things you work for and talking about it isnt bragging.
Congratulations Emelia as its quite an accomplishment to be proud of the things you do or have. Keep it up!
