I live in Reno and honestly VC is the coolest town to go visit! With or without the ghosts.

Just got back from spending a night in Virginia city at The Tahoe House Hotel and exploring the next day. It was fantastic! So much history there. Look forward to going back.

Silver city prospector here. VC and silver city is home. I've been all throughout these mountains. In and out of many mines. This place built sanfransico. If your a Rockhound great place to be. Not sure if they talk about American Flatts mill but it was the biggest and was torn down some years back. Was a great place to explore. 👌🤟 15 years ago. I can still find a lil bit of gold in those hills.

I live about 10 miles from VC in the Mark Twain area, near Pinenut and the big Cactus. When my motorcycle was running, I used to cruise up to and around VC every day, it was created for horses and works even better for bikes, that's why so many bikers like to go there on holidays. It's a very cool town!

Being born and raised in Nevada, we never thought of Virginia City as a Ghost Town as many people live there.

I've lived in Reno my whole life and that is literally why many visitors go up there.... Anyone mentions VC and all the ghosts believers come out the wood work... ahaha! And this was before Ghost Adventures went there.

Thanks so much for this. I am related to Henry Comstock (he was my great, great Uncle) who sold his part of the Lode to the MacKay family. Henry sold it for nothing and he went to Montana where he settled. News got to him how the MacKays made a fortune and Henry committed suicide. Not a great story.
