I must say that as a former college player and current teaching pro I find your assessment of yourself very refreshing. You’re fair, honest and objective. So many pros, far less accomplished, that I have worked with and been around are full of exaggerations and excuses. Good luck going forward.
hahah thank you. Making these retrospective videos is almost therapeutic. Gives me time to digest and think more clearly about what happened. Hope it feels that way and not just excuses hahah
@@KaruesellHQ Well the therapy seems to be working... absolutely crushing it in Porto Alegre! First challenger QF ever? Anyways, amazing run... let's keep going!
The best part is that Karue has his first main draw match today at the porto Alegre Challenger against the number 1 seed and number 194, let's see if he could pull the upset of the century. EU ACREDITO KARUE
I'm sure when I say this I'm not the only one...but so super proud of you and what you've done with this whole idea of coming back. Even if you were to quit today, I would say that you've done incredibly well K. I'm sure however that this is not where you're going to stop anyways. :) Cheers and thank you for sharing your journey with us. M
Thank you for not only all the videos you've done over the years but the inspiration you provide! I hope you continue to find more fluidity and ability to consistently find your rhythms to be able to play the shots you want in matches. I think your mindset is super awesome knowing what you can take away and moving forward not getting down on yourself after the win I'm tuned in to see how far you can go Karue you've got this man!
Couldn't be more happy for you and your comeback, it's been so fun to watch. Appreciate so much your outlook and analysis of your games-feel so simultaneously thoughtful and relatable. Good luck with all your future Challengers and wherever this new phase of your career takes you!
Keep going 🙏🏻🙏🏻
This is so great. Let the world know how tough being a tennis pro really is. I hope one day you can train my son. We live near Redlands here in So. Cal. Good luck to you the rest of the season.
Saw him playing in Sao Leopoldo against Varillas one month ago. Really strange service motion, but he manages to get A LOT of power with that arm acceleration. Dude also chooses violence every single time. Extremely heavy shots!
Great progress Karue. Your movement is looking amazing! Well done at qualifying in Brazil and good luck with your main draw match on clay 😊 Vamos Karue!
Saw the highlights of the match against Hemery, my god you played amazing!! That tweener you hit at the beginning of the second set was truly epic!! Another great win today, keep it up Karue!! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼
great bounceback win vs Hemery! He looked like he expected to hit through you and he got a rude awakening. He definitely didn't expect so many 1st serves to come back at him with heat. taking out the top seed... 👏👏👏
Go Karue! Congratulations and thanks for sharing the thoughts of a pro tennis player on the hunt. I hope you'll continue to rack up more wins on the tour. Cheers man!
You are an inspiration to us all Karue and you are giving us a true insight into what its, like to play pro tennis. Goodluck for your next tournament!👊💪
Congratulations. I didn't even know that you were playing in a tournament until I saw your name on DraftKings. It was an automatic wager on the Karue Sell moneyline haha. Best of luck to you.
When it comes to tennis matches, do you think patterns and thinking about how you want to play is more important than soley how well you hit the ball. Because you see a lot of people that hit the ball amazing, but are nowhere near the top because they don’t understand the way they want to play. It seems that you have a very good tennis IQ and understanding in the game, and I hope you can make it to top 100
I don’t love the word patterns but yes it is important to understand how to play the game vs how to hit the ball well. How can one create pressure with the tools they have available. That is the sport. Not just hitting the ball
@@KaruesellHQ that's fun. Definitely looked like you were having fun out there today. Were you nervous? Did'nt seem like it :-). Good luck in the quarters and well played
Regresaras a México próximamente? Congratulations for playing those challengers 😀👏🏼the weather in Acapulco is complicated, very hot, rainy, windy, etc.
Awesome win today against the first seed ranked under 200 Atp!. Wish I could of watched somewhere if you know any places?. Or live streams?. You can beat these guys! Cheers
This just goes to show just how hard pro tennis is. So many variables, like weather conditions, time of day, playing surface, altitude, opponent's style of play and strengths/weaknesses, your own physical state (injury, fatigue), your mental state. The raw technical skills of pro players, like forehand and backhand strokes are such a small part compared to how well you can adjust to the variables.
yeah there are so many factors. I don’t want them to be excuses I just want people to understand the nuances of playing pros. There are a lot of variables and it is part of the game to adapt. Sometimes we just can’t haha and that is way the best of the best are so impressive

Just be patient bro and work more hard and try to player the right game with focus and don't worry with time you will get results , results really need hard work physically and endurance to play 7 matchs in a row in a very high level ,so,keep doing that and see you in top 150 ,u can do it inshAllah bro
If you ever need a onewheel buddy to ride with (don't think I can compare to your dogs though lol) Id love to join you after a rally or something!! As a 4.0 player I probably cant offer a lot of practice but at least LA and OC has some of the best roads and trails for onewheeling!!
Comparing your current self to your first stint going pro, are there any areas where you feel noticeably better or worse? Speed, touch, footwork, power, accuracy, etc. Obviously ideally you'd prefer to be at the peak of your abilities in every respect, but I'd be curious to hear your honest assessment!
See the world? Party? What pro tennis player has time to really see the places they play at let alone party? In any case, I would love to see you in the US Open qualifiers in late August. I’m not sure of the rankings cutoff date but you need to get your ranking up to around #205 to get entry without an wildcard. Are there enough ranking points at the challengers between now and the cutoff date for you to get there?
You do realize that tennis players are humans right? The same way you know people in your life who might be loose canons, that exists in sport. Players get put on a pedestal because they are high performance athletes but they are flawed humans as well. All of us. You'd be surprised what goes on the tour brother
After 5 separate net cords on critical points. Some home cooking line calling that drove Hemery to lose his shit and go full Karen with calling the manager on court for 15 minutes, Karue prevails in straights. Onwards and upwards
Karue is there a reason langmo and zhu are missing drop shots by 6 feet? Obviously both are very strong players, do you think it has to do with the conditions?
Enjoying following your journey! As a fellow early ball flat player, what’s the key to adapting our game style for slower courts such as clay and hard? Is it trying to increase the heaviness and spin on our groundstrokes or remain taking it early but accept we are going to have to play more balls?
Interestingly I play with more shape than maybe people realize. I don’t like to hit flatter too often. I usually set up points with slight more shape, but finish points more through. That being said I obviously like to take balls on the rise. In this particular situation, that wasn’t going to be productive so a little more shape and spin helps create more angle (go for the sidelines) with a bit more confidence. So just remember when the court is slow you need to take your time, progress comes from making the court wide for the opponent and not so much going downhill with flat shots
I must say that as a former college player and current teaching pro I find your assessment of yourself very refreshing. You’re fair, honest and objective. So many pros, far less accomplished, that I have worked with and been around are full of exaggerations and excuses. Good luck going forward.
