@@KaruesellHQ It seems jack pennington jones is more like the true best college tennis player and he defeated Monday 6-4, 6-2... would be awesome to see you play him
You have real tour-level strengths and lots of them. Your backhand, mental game, and movement are all tour level. Forehand and serve are real strengths now too, and your returns are truly impressive because your movement is so good and your swings are so compact! Volley looks so solid, I'm saying again, that's because you understand the volley is all about movement. Overhead is so solid as well. I just don't see a weakness anywhere anymore. One day I'm going to be saying "I was watching Karue's channel when he was a former #400 in the world. Who knew he'd be out there winning ATP tourneys one day, but we all saw so much improvement so quickly that you sort of smelled that he could be something special. "
Most underrated appreciated aspect of karues game. Immaculate serve returns. This kid was serving absolute bombs and he was returning deep and into his feet or into his backhand. Great game Karue.
@@KaruesellHQ Seems like he's more explosive and raw than Adam Neff less controlled calm building of points, Neff seems like next level of refinement less violent
Insane proof of concept match. If you can beat the best that collegiate tennis has to offer, you can surely break into the top 100 in not too long. Epic match!
That was insane. I could not believe how fast you were moving and how well you handled that guy's serve in the first set in particular. I thought you had broken his spirit in the middle of the first set. But then he came back in the second. Glad you mentioned the new balls because it appeared just from watching that you had zoned out and lost concentration. I was super impressed that you were able to keep it together and dominate the third. Very inspiring. Makes me want to really work on speed and reaction time.
Amazing match Karue! Your opponent had the bigger shots (huge serve and tough shots off both forehand and backhand), but he was also the one under constant pressure of going for more because you have such a solid game from a mental, physical, and tactical point of view. I think that in the second set, you fell a bit into his game in trying to go for more than what you should have, but your recovery in the 3rd set was good. Always a pleasure to watch you play!
Love your videos Karue, keep up the great work, it looks like you're on the right track! One suggestion though. It would be so much better if you could add an audio commentary to your match videos, taking us through your tactics, the momentum shifts, your mental state. I think this would add tremendous value to your content. Other than that, kudos to you on your fantastic journey
This was more exciting than many top ATP broadcasts. I wish they would use a camera angle similar to this. You could really see and hear the speed and power of the game. On the professional broadcasts it looks like everything is floating and moving so slowly.
Great win Karue! Solid serving and great returning. I like watching your matches because I can see the thought and intent in ur play. Not 100% execution but love how you vary placement, spin and pace to get the edge over opponents. Good luck in the upcoming rounds !
tyvm for sharing this karue! jomo (monday) won our local m25 a couple of years ago and our kids have been huge fans ever since! i was sooooo disappointed when the itf had no livestream from dallas!
Big congrats K. Dude is legit with huge hits and monster serves...and that says a ton about how good you did ma man. Cheers and looking forward to the next one!! M
Great playing Karue!! Playing very good tennis. Love the intensity and mental toughness. Backhand is huge and returns amazing. See you in the top 100 shortly bro!. Keep pushing matter of time. Nice to see you continuing to go for your dream. Your game is big.
You can just feel how match tough Karue is playing. Great awareness in the second set for when to absorb pace and win with shot tolerance, vs when to force the issue and move forward to finish off the point and actually match as well. Super impressive.
To his bad luck you were playing on a Wednesday. Wasn't his day. You inspired me to try to get to a high level at 36, man. Thanks for all the good work. Vamos!
That was Giron cheering in the background, right? Tough game, man. Monday is very aggressive. But you managed it very well. I ended my “career” in 2007, and kind of lost interest in the game. But seeing you and the turning pro series really made me interested again. I might not be going back to the court, but I’m sure going to keep coming for more of your content! I guess it’s nice to have a fellow Brazilian coming up in the ranks! Great job! Good luck!
Karue great match! Your backhand technique and effortless power is inspiring which led to me finding your instruction bh video with Winston. Extremely helpful, thanks!
Very nice win Karue! See you’re back with the 100d…what happened there regarding the cracking? I just committed to a change and then saw all the noise regarding a possible defect 😮
Seriously, I am rooting for your success more than any sports team or player in my life. Not sure why, but I think it's likely because I'm also much older than a lot of the people who do what I do, and it's nice to see that age can be overcome with some serious practice and dedication. I want so badly to see you succeed Karue! I'll be watching.
Another testament to how good Karue is. He makes these young guys with tons of speed, power, and spin look like amateurs. His strokes are smooth and uncomplicated, his preparation is great, he almost never looks rushed, etc. He makes it look easy! Congrats!
Been watching your content for a while now and didn’t realize you were a fellow Brazilian (I’m a mutt though that grew up in the States) and as luck would have it, I see you’ll be playing 15 min from my hotel in BOG…best of luck this week!
hey Karue, just watched one of your other videos about natural gut secret to more power. I am a junior player (14) and 7 utr with elbow issues on serve, shoud I think about natural gut, if so which ones do you reccomend. Thanks
Nice video. Not a bad matchup for you as your movement gave you the edge in longer rallies and exposed his recovery which is a bit slow now and again. Assuming he is a big guy that has not maxed out his athletic abilities yet. Impressed by his ability to keep the ball deep. Suprised he does not have a stronger lefty slice on Ad side. Kphs are there but not the extreme angle. Would be a monster on faster court. Great serving on your part. Looking fwd to ur next match :).
wow what a great match - exceptional level first set from both specially break on 3- 3 from 40 - 0 ... opening game was a little lose second set and third what great grit when your serve level dropped a bit and you figured a way out like u coach - great job and many congrats !!
Great match, some nervous moments from both of you. Monday's backhand is incredibly consistent, most of his errors came from the forehand side specially when he had to move.
I think one of my favorite pieces of advice here is about "playing good sprints" of tennis. I think for young players at like a 4.0/4.5 level it feels like in order to get to the next level you have to just play good all the time, but it's more about picking the right moments to lock in. like fed said, you only gotta win 51% of the points to win (sometimes not even that) :-)
Great match Karue! It's awesome to see when you hit the ball so clean and effortless. I can see the confidence in your shots. Your style is great on fast court. Do you adjust when you play on slower court like clay? What's your favorite surface?
Monday has the bombs! But I love Karue’s more efficient game style and match awareness. The break at 3-3 first set must have been such a mental win 😅 Also, Karue’s serve and backhand actions resemble those of Agassi’s.
I had the good fortune to play a no.1 ranked collegiate player once. He went on to play on the ATP tour ranked in the top 5. So you got a great win! A sign of things to come???!!
Awesome match. This was a hard fought match where both player played solid. Definetely wasn't one of the matches were you win because your opponents game was just off. Earned win and congrats!
Very exciting match. Monday has a big game and great foot speed and length. But I don't think there was any doubt you were going to win. Besides the couple of double faults, you had that grit and precision good pros have. Congrats.
Awesome...returns, mental game/point construction, movement, backhand, serving... all solid! Top 100 soon. Just get these guys to stay back on your second serve, and keep amping up your down-the-line forehands so they don't come back as often and you'll be cashing much bigger checks soon! Great win against a tough player!
That was huge win over a very good opponent for a first round (especially him winning the next week). I think your mental game is on point in these tournaments especially when you go to the deciding set. You tend to come out a bit more aggressive in the 3rd set it seems from watching these videos lately. Keep up the hard work and the videos coming. I watch every one of them, as I find your journey inspiring and great content!
By the way, one thing your viewers and students should take from your success is how your improvements are built from the ground up. What I mean by that is that your fitness came first. All the practice in the world is only going to take you so far at any age, until the injuries start coming. The game will break you if your body isn't bulletproof. I hope people appreciate the work you do behind the scenes.
Going pro at such a late age, you have to beat younger players before they can settle down into a rally rhythm. And you have done so, keeping Monday on his back foot with your power serves, while neutralising his own power serves. And thanks for beating Monday, the working world salutes you 🫡
Karue, is there a place we can see your upcoming schedule? Especially if you'll be playing at the USTA complex in Orlando. We'd love to come cheer you on sometime. 👍
