Love it Rog, it looks "regal"

I have some of that stuff you put under mats to stop them slipping . It is rubbery with holes in it and works great . As you don't want your engine jumping off the table.

Just bought some...cheap enough for lining shelves or putting under engines.

Looks nice . These engines seem a bargain . I make my own engines and I could not make one for the money if I had to buy all the materials. But I still prefer something that I have made myself.

Colin, if I had the lathe and milling capability to build one myself (and knowledge of same)...I would give it a go, but for $300 or so purchase price, I get to enjoy running a hit and miss without the investment in equipment worth 10+ what I paid for this engine. Just bought the M91 vertical version of this for similar money and I love it.

Looks great! What’s the switch for on the upper base on the flywheel side?

Switch turns on the battery pack inside the box....batteries power a small igniter that makes spark which travels to spark plug and keeps it firing as long as switch is in on position

maybe try lowering the compression so it wont kick so hard or use different slow burning fuels

No idea how to change compression...only thing I know that controls the frequency of the hits is to change the springs on the outer flywheel weights. As for fuel, I'm using 10 parts Zippo lighter fuel to 1 part Marvel Mystery Oil. Any other suggestions appreciated.

plan to get some softer/weaker springs for the weights on one flywheel...this way it should fire less often. I have been using Zippo lighter fluid mixed with Marvel Mystery oil in a 15:1 ratio...plan to back the oil off to 20:1 as it blows oil out the exhaust. As for changing compression...I know this can be done by shaving a bit off the top of the piston, but I am not equipped to do that safely. Might try some different fuels, though I kind of like Zippo lighter fluid.
