I could see an new IP from MM doing well, Tearaway and Dreams were farely niche in concept. LBP was profitable, but why would they make a new one if it were profitable if they aren't still maintaing LBP3 or releasing anything LBP related like remasters. Ofcourse I could be wrong, the LBP Twitter is still active and promoting LBP specifically

here's a neat thing to think about.
people get burnout on a certain project to the point where financial incentive will NOT get them back to doing it.
as an artist, if i did the same exact thing over and over i would get sick of it to the point- even though im getting good money from it- i dont want to do it anymore.
also about your note on "new ips" not being successful... what came before littlebigplanet?... well, not littlebigplanet! media molecule is a studio that wants to make things that THEY want to make, sure financial stability is first but creative freedom almost equally so.
I really... REALLY... want to hope for an LBP4, but it's not happening dude. There's signs all over saying it's the end of it. Maybe a new sackboy big adventure title but it's not gonna be a Play Create Share like many people might hope, it's just gonna be a Play without the create and share.

That's valid, they may not want to revisit LBP at this point just because they're done and over with LBP. I would totally play another Sackboy but I do wish they'd atleast have a level creator but at that point they might as well just make LBP I suppose lol so I can see why they wouldn't I guess
