Pardew was an amazing manager almost got west ham relegated with mashcerano and tevez in team. Big achievement.
In fairness, Pardew took Newcastle to 5th place in the Prem ahead of Chelsea who won the CL in that same 2012 season with Di Matteo as manager.

There is clearly something within Kompany that suits Bayern. It’s not all based on Burnley’s outcome. Kompany has worked in coaching/management for a little while( not all of us saw that) I suspect Bayern have reviewed everything Kompany, his style, attitude, his ideas.
Exactly he turned Burnley from a long ball team defensive team in to a progressive passing attacking and Bayern can see his tactics would be more effective with top players.
That and the fact alot of others turned them down. Thats no secret

Tbf chelsea at that time was not exactly expecting to achieve anything with the transfer ban and the big players especially Hazard leaving its not exactly the Bayern job.

Kompany is a great man manager. it's why even though Burnley werent getting the results, all his players still listened to him until the end of the season.
Bayern will be a real test of Kompanys tactics because he now has the players that are at the level that would allow him to play completely dominating attacking football; something Burnely could do in the Championship but not the premier league.

Kompany is potentially a great coach but a good manager he isn't. Talk to any Anderlecht fan, talk to any Burnley fan - if you allow him to be a manager (meaning control the transfers) you'll be playing a season without a left back and 8 promising wingers. About the man management, the dressing room at burnley was a warzone under him with their top striker having to go into therapy because of major depression and out for half the season. Good luck Bayern, but I'm betting they won't win the Bundesliga for another year. Without the cult of personality, no one would consider VK to manage anything but an amateur level club.

What you and that has been manager don't understand is football has evolved and clubs are in search of the next best thing out there that can lead their clubs into the new era. Look I don't like Arsenal but look at what Arteta is doing and how he has transformed the club and has given them belief again, do you think he would leave Arsenal without winning something major?. I'm not saying that Bayern are not taking a risk hiring kompany but the upside of hiring him is more than the negative, what do they have to lose, either they have a poor season like the past one or they might have hired one of the next generation of coaches who would transform the game.

This is a stupid comment from Pardew. Of course he doesn't deserve the job. The issue is that nobody who does deserve the job wants it. So by definition, someone is going to end up with the job who would not otherwise deserve it.
All the old school managers are just going to have to accept that if they're not willing to be a head coach rather than manager, the big jobs will just keep going down the list until they find someone willing to accept the role they're offering.
