"No game tomorrow" the childly innocence he has makes me cry ....how he talked .... I'm 14 and it felt he's no younger than me acting as always I do in such grief in public ....
I am an Indian but I am teary eyed looking at Ding. What a gracious and humble gentleman and a great sportsman. I wish him good luck and good life and wish to see him come back ferocious
"I've played my best tournament in the year. I have no regrets. Thank you, I will continue to play." - a man doubted, talked down, an underdog all tournament long. Many said he will get demolished, that it would not take 14 games to beat him. Ding had more demons on his shoulder than Gukesh all year long, and as much as I am happy for Gukesh I am happier for Ding. He rediscovered the spark in his gameplay, played the right moves when it matters most, held his nerves in against a younger, faster opponent. He is a world champion class player, and the tournament reminds us of it.
Ding is such a great guy. I don't know how someone can hate an angel like him. Great sportsman, and a great chess player. Chess won, this whole tournament was so exciting. Also congrats to Gukesh. We always have to keep moving forward so it's fine.
Ding is the most humble guy I have ever seen, he was coming from depression, last 1-2 yrs was not good for him , but despite he gave an outstanding fight, kudos to the champ ding .
I wouldn't have been this happy if Ding had won the championship, but I wouldn't have been this sad if Gukesh had lost the championship. When he says "No game tomorrow", no words to his humbleness and innocence.
Ding is a Special tipe of GOAT. I appreciate have someone like him as a role model, even if he's younger than me xD. Congrats to both, Ding for gracefully trying to defend his title and Gukesh for breaking so many records.

Ding made this Championship legitimate. If he had come in a poor form, Gukesh would not have got his due credit. But, by playing in a good form, he redeemed the title of the World Champion. And in turn, gave a hell lot of legitimacy to Gukesh. This might not be the best Ding Liren ever, but he came out prepared and ready. I would absolutely love it if Ding regains his form, wins Candidates, and Challenge for the title.
His form was better than many expected, but still shaky, certainly not "good". Ding was a shadow of his former self in this match. It's just that his former self was so good that even its shadow is still a formidable player.
Ding you are an inspiration to me. You have proven what a fighter you are! Even though you had a really difficult year, you gave your all in this tournament. Thanks to you, my motivation for chess is back. I enjoyed every game of yours. Please fight for the title again❤❤❤
Ding is a genuine soul, embodying extraordinary talent while staying humble. It's unfortunate that the World Championship concluded this way. I hope he'll recover and consistently perform at the 2800+ level, where he truly belongs. Congratulations to Gukesh!
Still 1st ever Chinese world chess champion. Ding marked his name in the world chess champion that no one can ever erase his name on the hall of the champion.
Before the games, every GM around was talking about how Ding was not the favorite. Even the random 200 Elo folks were talking about how Gukesh's victory was a foregone conclusion. Kudos to Ding for taking it to the very end, and keeping the viewers at the very edge of their seats. He made the GMs question their favorite, made the haters doubt their guesses... And of course, he showed the one thing that did not even needed to be said: …that *_obviously_* Gukesh was NOT going to be able to steam-roll a fucking World Champion.
In my eyes....Ding would always remain a humble genius. He's an introvert. A weight has been lifted off his shoulders. I hope he continues playing. I want to see more of Ding chilling.❤
I am huge guki fan!! But you can't take anything away from Ding he is just way way to good ! Ding I hope can look back at this moment in fondness because he gave 14 incredibly beautiful and glued to the seat matches alongside Gukesh fighting just as eloquently. It was an incredible world championship. I was rooting for Ding but I am happy for him because he can re-focus and take a breather and play as he wants. I would like to see him come back to the World Stage but at this point I am just happy I got to root for him and see some incredible matches and congratulations to Gukesh! I wasn’t sure who I would root for, but halfway into the match I was supporting Ding. Man every prediction I made in this tournament was correct, expect this game and yesterday’s result.
Ding is bit like Karpov : positional master, became WC without defeating his predecessor , soft spoken and humble and defeated by the youngest challenger of his time (kasparov). We still remember Karpov as a great & Ding will be remembered like that too.
