Always a Joy to visit the Music Palace, a real treasure house of organs.

Many thanks! I first played a cinema organ in Sunderland in 1973. I worried in those days that by now they'd all have gone. Its fantastic to know that people like yourselves are working so hard to keep them singing 😊

Excellent and professionally made video Alec. The instrument is magnificent by any standard. Thank you.

    Another great video. Thanks!
I do like Christies. My first record was Douglas Reeve at the Brighton Dome. Then in the mid(?) 70's heard Robinson Cleaver's closing concert at the Llandudno Astra. There's something about the sound 'clean'?, 'orchestral'? I don't know, but I like it!

Another excellent video. I particularly enjoyed this one as my grandmother was caretaker of the chapel building in the 1940s, and my dad was born in Ynyshir.

I loved the way this organ sounded when Sidney Torch played it ,it should be called The Unit Jazz Orchestra!

I knew Paul kirner from his time way back in High Wycombe he used to come into the local organ retailer and play some of the new models out and he particularly liked the Conn models as I remember! Sidney Torch is one of my favourite organists and I believe this Christie was his favourite theatre organ? He certainly knew how to get the best out of it! A nice tribute to him played in his unique style and a piece often heard on remastered recordings of him!

Great stuff as usual Al. I last saw this organ in situ way back being played by Arnold Loxam and Doreen Chadwick, a lovely lady. I always considered Christie organs to be not far behind WurliTzers and a bit better than Compton but that`s just me.
