I’m seeing her blushing from that punch and chock…I’m starting to wonder if she’s actually there for revenge now….

@@neoblazezz her face has redness from where she was hit, and the blush after was because her breast piece was ripped from her riding uniform, resulting in the fabric from that area also tearing and leaving her exposed. i think that her character is definitely forward and suggestive in many of the scenes she is in, but her desperation is what makes this scene ultimately pathetic. the interpretation that she enjoys the humiliation from not being able to avenge her parents is a direction not guided by yugioh's writing. that idea would honestly be plausible in a show like revolutionary girl utena, where themes of sexual violence and the variance in victim reactions are not only explicit, but even regarded. the closest we get in 5ds is aki having to take pleasure in her ostracization lest she has nothing left, then the sexism she faces when getting her license. sherry's character would have an interesting depth if she does have these conflicting feelings of revenge and the emptiness which comes with having nothing afterwards-- especially with womanhood being typically focused around men and creating a family with a man-- leading to an obsession where the lines are blurred and she moves away from the traditionally masculine world of speed. however, i do not trust shin yoshida to handle that well, and he apparently didn't trust himself either, since he didn't go for it. i know that your comment was comedic and in good jest, but it is always interesting to analyze what makes a statement true.
