Why you are allowed to push cuticle that can be harmful for nail root (matrix) but you are not allowed to cut dead skin? Both of these operations can be harmful if done wrong. With pushing it is even more dangerous because it opens niche for potential bacteria and some root nail damage can be permanent. Is it possible to cut cuticles legally in NY?
You are technically not pushing back cuticles, you are pushing back the eponychium. That is the living tissue and it is only allowed with a medical license to remove living skin/tissue. Cuticle is dead tissue and therefore within our scope of practice to remove. By removing the eponychium (not cuticle) you are opening the skin up for potential bacteria to get in.
Hello, I have a question, if I do my own manicure, do I have to have naked nails or can I have a gel coating that I do all the time and “imagine ” that I am doing a manicure?

you can use the mechanically hand OR the silicone hand. I have heard that depending on the proctor, some won't allow one or the other. So its suggested to play it safe and bring both!

It's just another disposable table sheet I had. You don't need the extra layer though, just paper towel 😊

I got mine from Sally's beauty store and also online from Sheba Nails. Sheba Nails puts out sealed odorless kits for state board test.
Is it ok to have gray towels instead of white?
I believe any color is fine.. as long as it's clean and not dingy looking. But you can always call them and ask to double check

No the nails need to be bare with nothing on them.

In step 1 after you clean/ decontaminate the table at 17:17 when you put all the stuff on the table is it now? considered contaminated?
After wiping and disinfecting the table... it is not considered "contaminated" once the things are placed down. Hope that answers your question.
