I listened to some of this over night, then caught this clip this morning and Balaji's face doesn't match his rapid-fire, enthusiastic voice. It's amazing to me that he is talking so upbeat while he has a deadpan face like One Punch Man

From a European perspective he missed the category of "US Protestant Capitalism". Turning capitalism into a religion and religion into capitalism.
Bitcoin is so amazing.... few have even a 5% understanding of what it can/will do to the world.

The San Francisco example seems a little weird.
I kinda understand what he's saying, but Communist v "Woke" v other types of capitalism are quite different. "Capitalism" is only used because it's the default, global market for the world.
Communists only use capital as a means to further their agenda, it's not something they like or want but kinda like fighting fire with fire or beating capitalists at their own game - a means to an end.
'Woke' capitalism is basically just capitalism with a progressive image. This is still liberalism. 'Crypto'-capitalism is seemingly used as a reference to far-right/pure libertarian or liberal capitalism but is not necessarily unique to crypto (crypto can take any form).
Each form of capitalism has some form of agenda since it's the language of markets and wealth, just different. Communist for gaining power and ending the capitalist hegemony, progressive capitalism for pure profit while appealing to centrist libs and crypto-caps for boosting their share of the pool of wealth which is guaranteed by capitalism in its purest form.
For transparency I am a hard socialist (ex-libertarian), and my perspective from working in crypto for about a decade+ and studied (mostly through my uni degree) computer science & data analytics, arts (philosophy, deontological ethics, polisci) and finance.

That was fascinating and disturbing. America needs a 3rd political party.
That was full of non parallels and curiously anti-left vocabulary to suggest there is not a redistribution of wealth by more state services as suggested by the left and this is the opposite of liberal economics where there is more distribution, he's arguing for capitalism for a more equal economy, that concentrates wealth
