Next time crank that baby up to 4,600 rpm and let it sing. The attack mode per te DC manual is 8 seconds full power, 4 seconds off and repeat this interval. For alert to e run full power for a minute the. Power down. All clear is almost same as alert tone but three blasts of one minute on then. A minute silence between. Btw can you bring this by my neighborhood? I wanna annoy some people :-P

Please tell me everyone around there, especially the guy operating it, had adequate hearing protection on!!! Those things get VERY loud, from what I hear, and I imagine it can hurt your eardrums pretty bad!!!! LOL
Fyi, they used one of these for Silent Hill. Nither here nor in the film is that thing opened up to full power.. it can do the full range of the stereotypical siren in pitch... but it's full roar is bone and teeth chattering at close range.
Yep, that would be surface rust from the chopper disk (right behind the 6 horns) and the blower's impeller being blown out. That's accumulation from sitting on a building or tower somewhere without running for god knows how many years.

@TheAngrykiwi they have now said i can not run the siren at the carshow due to complaints of it being to loud!(and it wasnt even running properly last time).i will be there on the sunday to display it
I was suggesting it in regards to aesthetic qualities solely, as I prefer the sound of dual-toned sirens. Although, I'm not sure how it would be 'half as loud'. By extension, are you suggesting that the Thunderbolt 1000t produces half the volume of the 1000?

Rev higher! That thing can go higher and reach a large distance. You ought to rev it to full power.

That was only at half speed. It can get over an octave higher in pitch, and would have probably shattered some of that glass in the background.

They built other sirens before these, that had flathead sixes in them. They decided to up their game after that.

A rotary engine does not sound better than a V8. I grew up around American automobiles, mainly GM, and a V8 has a unique sound of its own.
