Great ownership review, very well presented! I really like the exterior of the 320i! Very stylish! Do you miss your Civic to this day? Keep up the great work man, I enjoy your content.
I test drove a 2016 328i with most of the great packages. The car was a blast to drive. The dealer let me keep it over night so I really got a chance to drive it around. Very fun to drive for sure. Im now on the hunt for similar model with less miles, probably a 2016 CPO was less than 30k on the dash. Had been contemplating a c class, and even drove one a couple of times. It was a very nice car but the 328 was cooler and more fun to drive. Cheers from NC
Really enjoy your vids. I own a 2014 328i & heard about the timing chain. I am at 53K miles, no problem...yet. Mine goes in to service for oil, general maintenance in July. I plan on speaking to the dealer at that time & see if I can get it changed out for free! I purchased mine, as a CPO from a BMW dealer. It was a leased car. I have now owned it almost 3 years without any issues. Just an FYI, I looked in to having the "angel eyes" installed on mine since I have the regular halogens like you. No one, including the dealer, would install the new lights. It has to do with the coding that these vehicles have. In other words, won't work without a light coding change that no one wants to attempt, like I said, even the dealer. Plus the OEM lights, are very expensive. I did change out the halogen bulbs to HID, not cheap either, but gives a more high grade light & when on, gives the car a more updated look. Only problem is, I keep getting a dash warning light that a bulb is not working, but they all are. This is due to the HID light bulbs use less electricity & due to the coding, keeps this alert light on with no escape from it! Car coding thinks light is out due to less use of electric for lights. So I'm stuck with this alert light (bulb malfunction) on at all times I am using the car, day or night. I hate it, but I like the brighter lights for night driving. So, I'm ignoring the warning light....but be prepared & forewarned about a light upgrade.
Hey Thomas! Glad you enjoy the content. Keep me posted on what your dealer says about possibly replacing the timing chain preventatively. Also, yeah the OEM route for headlights is so difficult due to the coding necessary but there are some OEM-like Depo lights by Unique Style Racing that I've seen good things about. Minimal errors from people and there is no coding necessary. www.uniquestyleracings.com/store/2012-2015-bmw-f30-f31-3-series-4-door-sedan-5-door-wagon-depo-black-led-angel-eyes-halo-rings-projector-headlight-hlb3f3013dpproled-2030505305

10:30 I wouldn't consider the 320i badge To be embarrassing. The car still cost more than your average Corolla brand-new. And being young and still able to afford a decent looking BMW Even though it's a 320i Would be an accomplishment To most people. I love my base model BMW. Obviously, there are better ones out there, But it's still one of the best vehicles I've ever had. I'm interested to hear Future maintenance details. Great video! And good luck with your BMW!!
I agree with you about the seats. I have a 2014 F32, and the lack of seat comfort is my number one complaint. I turned the double pull for the door handles off in iDrive. It confused every passenger who’s ever been in the car. 😆
I have a question, I’m thinking to buy bmw 2014 320I but when I drove the car , the sterling wheel felt really heavy, fell like more heavy when you drive 1 hand if you do parking
I had a 2008 Civic EX throughout college, I traded it a couple years ago for a 2013 Accord Touring.. it's been a fantastic car.. really held it's value. I had to have that navigation and LED headlights! Love to get a 3-Series, but the I love the size of the Accord and don't know if I could go back to something smaller!
Great video Garrison! The car is really a super nice vehicle! You did very well! As long as you're happy and satisfied with it, then that's what counts the most! Brooks can just be irritated with the car license plate surround. LOL. I always enjoy your videos! All of them! Enjoy your Spring! We are finally beginning to warm up here in the Heartland! Always with full respect! Mark in Iowa.
I think you did well with this car - it’s held up well and I think it suits you very well. I do hope it continues to serve you well for a long while to come. I did strongly consider going the 3 Series route, but in the end I decided quite happily on a C Class instead. The MB V6 really puts down the power well, although I despise the 7-speed DCT and how the software deals with it. Interior quality and ride seem to best the competition by a fair margin, but it certainly can’t shake a stick to the classic MB vehicles. Otherwise I think the MB has been a solid choice for my needs. Great video, your and your pal did a great job on the filming!
I came close to snagging a CPO 2014 C-250 Coupe that was at a local Mercedes dealer but we decided to wait a little longer. Both the C class and 3 are great choices in the class!
Me and my cousin test drove a 2015 328i Xdrive on Sunday (same color combo as yours). It was a nice car but it was missing the Premium Package. It didn’t have navigation either but it had the Drivers Assistance Package,Sunroof, Heated Seats and power seats. I can also agree with your opinion on the seats the car we test drove had the fake leather and it wasn’t the best feeling or most comfortable seat I’ve ever sat in, but it was a very powerful feeling car (my cousin stayed that it felt faster than his MB CLK coupe w/ 3.5l V6). But we ended up avoiding that car simply because it was in New Jersey and had “Damage Reported” to the right side, right rear and rear and it had no service history for the 40k miles it had. Now my cousin is going for a CLA 250 4Matic now because he just felt as if the 3 Series wasn’t for him and he doesn’t want to purchase something that he may end up not liking however, I still like the 3er...... But other than that great video!
CLA is still a great car and if that's what his gut said then he made the right decision. I have wanted a 3 series for such a long time so when the opportunity arose I had to give it a shot. At least now it'll be out of my system later down the road haha
okkk So You Said The 2012s and The 2015s has the Timing Chain Issues OR Did You Say The 2012s Thru The 2015s?? Because I'm Looking to buy a 2014 320i So Will I have a Timing Chain Issue? It has 110k Miles BUT I Have the Car fax and its been well maintained
I was going to go and look at one of these with 69832 miles tomorrow and your hilarious comment- “other than that” cued me in on this timing system start stop issue: I have no doubt the BMW dealers here in Phoenix are pushing back like ba$tards on this seller and he just wants out: How do I know? Had a 335d here with aircon problems noted throughout warranty period -warranty ends and now magically they knew it’s the condenser and three grand to fix. They would not talk to BMWNA or help me in any way even with a discount on the parts on a known e90 e92 issue. I chucked the car immediately. I hate to say that because I’ve owned a few BMWs and I loved them. Mate you saved me a bad decision albeit with a manual transmission. Pity. Thanks though!
The highway is where she shines. As long as everything is balanced & aligned properly these cars are rock solid at 90+. Realistically though cruising at 80 I can get 32ish mpg, funny though if I knock it down to 70-75 I can easily get 36-37mpg which is what I experienced driving to DC since VA is so strict on speeding.
Actually it's not the timing chain that's the problem it is the timing chain guides. They are plastic and they break apart sending plastic into the oil pan and will cause the timing chain to jump off the cam sprockets.

I've always thought the f30 seats were more than comfortable. If you have sport seats in them some people may not like the aggressive side bolstering .
Bimmer Yup. People with more junk in the trunk have said my seats are uncomfortable for long trips. So I throw them in the back now. Makes me feel like an Uber driver.

You should put a JB4 tune on it, to make it a 320->328i.
If you have battery issues there’s the jump post under the hood, that way you can either jump it or get power to get into the trunk ❤️

@@ThinkOutsideTheCube What's the real difference between the 320i and the 328i besides the price?

Actually the 320i is the most reliable bmw since it’s not that fast. You’re not gonna worry that much in terms of reliability.
Excellent deal on the wheels! I like the turbine design.

Do you think a 2014 320i with 45,000 miles for $15,000 is a good buy? Or will it not be reliable and fall apart?
So what do you do when the battery dies and you can’t open the trunk?
how many miles do you have on the car total ( I am looking to buy a 2014 328i with 60k miles and was wondering how maintenance would be)
