I don't know why, but somehow Corn Laws feel cheesey when you can use it to get a market liberal Landowner, before having Stock Exchange, which is normally needed for Market Liberals. I'd have thought there would be a check that prevents you from getting one.
Not to be too much of a nag (you're definitely a better player than me), but why do you run your economy so cold? Couldn't you run way more universities and constructions by pushing into debt, thus getting skirmish infantry faster? I know tech spread isn't as valuable for European starts as for unrecognised, but i feel like there's a lot of tech spread to benefit from. And of course all the other economic and indirect literacy benefits from having less peasants from more construction.
10:26 as a Chilean, no. That piece of Land should be called "mapuche Buenos Aires" at most, but the mapuches primary territory is the Araucania in Chile, the rest is just land that Victoria 3 gave them cause no one else was there. Though in my games it is called Buenos Aires at game start for Argentina, weird
THAT was very NICE. I learned quite a bit. Yesterday I learned SOMETHING AWESOME TOO. You can peacefully invite Persia in your Sphere of Influence by 1839!! I used to do the Persia opening every time too, since it was so nice, but why spend 30 infamy when you can get them literally for free. Instead now I go protectorate Argentina and Chile as opening. After this you attack the Ottomans to liberate Bulgaria and free Serbia, Walachia and Moldova and get all those + Greece for free in your sphere. I swear to god this start is very powerful. Bear in mind for the Otto war you have to wait for Britain to land in China during the Opium war, otherwise they will want to jump in on the Otto side, instead of leaving the during the escalation faze. Also you can invite Greece by promising to return a state to them, which is a win win since you gonna make them part of the sphere anyway.
Whats your opinion on releasing poland as a subject in the start? it gives money and you can feed prussian and austrian states. Also polish companies arent as good anymore and the states are worse than the ukrainian states for building.
You dont use authority -25% law enactment speed and ideology power block -10%. Literally you can enact charity, homesteading, laissez-faire before 1840.
what difficulty settings do you usually play on? ive often wondered which give the most rounded experience. and how player skill level plays into how one perceives those effects...
i havent really tried this strategy i know its popular for russia in MP but i imagine in SP where you can just protectorate a bunch of weak powers its not as good
i feel like you can just incorporate those states instead for the tax, it only takes 5 years and you can just try to puppet china and japan or aggresively invest in them to get them into your power bloc (by war, most likely) to get the extra from major/great power but that is a far more long term goal
You should always get north jilin, altai and north heilongjang from china in the beginning. These are partly modern russian states and there is a lot of gold there gold there. Also korea is free real estate. Also why dont you build in kherson and taurida? These states have the best mapi bonus in russia (river+sea access) and kherson starts with a port so it has 5% better mapi from the start.

i really should use more debt i think i was having enough construction to get into debt but its hard to remember to fill the construction queue

Very nice but I'm sad that you didn't go communist in the end (Wanna paint the map that nice deep red color)
Thank u!
I don't like the corn law mechanic, I used it once to cheese the Ottomans but it felt just wrong and really broke the immersion for me.

im not sure what you mean by difficulty settings if you mean AI behaviour towards players i have that on standard aswell as AI aggresion on standard

ports dont give mapi the states are cheaper on infamy after you get nationalism for the claims
