Nothing much can beat freedom from the 9-5 and the sheer enjoyment of truly living. I too have found that some people just don't require other people to be around them 24/7. Solitude is so underrated!!!! Great video, wish all the best.

I've always been kind, but I was not who I have become since my marriage ending. It took hitting that bottom for me to finally face, and do, the hard work of re-parenting myself and unlearning the terrible survival traits of my childhood. I used to be a very fearful person with no sense of self worth. That makes for a very unhappy person to be married to.
As an elderly minimalist myself & still in possession of my 1941 Chevrolet military 1.5 ton truck for the past 40+ years with close to 600,000 miles on it. Was my daily driver & live aboard for decades now.,years ago i built a no nonsense recycled wood and canvas aka in a Basque sheepherder style ( barrel shaped) wagon body on the flatbed years ago and lived in it on and off all around the southwest US for a long time, including times raising my 2 daughters and using the truck as our casita in-between jobs (I was a migrant small town restraunte/ resort worker), it's now on its 3rd freshly rebuild engine,a more modern 1959 235ci 6 cylinder engine in installed 40 years ago. The transmission, Differential,& chassis are all original other than the brake shoes , slave cylinders and rear Axel bearings seals being replaced about every 250k miles. Its sweet spot is between 40 & 45mph. which I todays hyper hurried world of going nowhere fast, would be a pain if to drive in an urban setting, but I live I a very rural area of the Mojave desert.Other than feeding the beast these days all the while having a cranium conscious mindset about my own carbon footprint that I have been leaving behind me for the past 60 years & Due to this climate consciousness, my age and the cost of feeding, reg & insuring & maintenance vs feeding and maintaining myself and maintaining my little desert shack on a very small fixed SS income, I have limited my driving to well under 2000 miles a year. Its like park and ride now days. It was an interesting life as mobile migrant resort worker fo so many years. Choosing to live & work in or near small towns & resorts in so many beautiful places.. No city- stealth camping lifestyle or Walmart parking lot camping. of today with the homeless stereotype & cultural paranoia of being an intentional minimalist in my not so stealthy vehicle which sticks out like a sore hitchhiking thumb on the road today. In my 70's now and occasionally think about leaving my humble minimalistic shack in the desert & traveling in that old mechanical sheepherding wagon again. But I may end up being a lost Mr Magoo or a rolling road hazard if I stray too far from my rural comfort zone in todays world.. My worst nightmare would be to wake up in some Walmart parking lot as a last resort in life.

@@415s30 wow, you're really going for it! She'll be a beast 👍 I went old school on mine with 4 Bolt Chevy 350 amd SM465 transmission. Carbureted and all mechanical linkage. No sensors or computers. I like things simple. But, that fuel injected LS would be great at higher elevations. My engine gets fussy at 6000' and higher.

He showed the.shower hose at the rear of the truck. He showers outside with the hose.

@@jackdawlove I have a friend with a shop in Petaluma. We did the disk brakes and power steering before. I was going to use a 318 but he wants to put an LS in it.
@@415s30 wow, you're really going for it! She'll be a beast 👍 I went old school on mine with 4 Bolt Chevy 350 amd SM465 transmission. Carbureted and all mechanical linkage. No sensors or computers. I like things simple. But, that fuel injected LS would be great at higher elevations. My engine gets fussy at 6000' and higher.
