- I found some recordings on an old hard drive I hadn't looked at in almost four years, including some unedited recordings off ABC3. This is the loop music they used to play all night, over and over, from 9pm to 6am, every night. Why am I putting this up? Mainly because nobody else would have this and it's a little record of what went to air every night.

This used to scare me so much as a kid, I would just be chilling out watching tv and then this comes on, I would just nope the heck outta there and into my bedroom with the safety of my iPad. Aaaa the music combined with there erie silence of the house makes you feel like someone could come up behind you and stab you any minute...

Bro I used to go to sleep to this on friday and saturday nights when I was young between 2012 - 2014. This was alsways on when all my friends used to sleep in the lounge room or when my parents used to have friends over and get on the piss, and this reminds me when we went to a friends house and slept in the lounge room also aswel when all the adults are getting pissed outside

is it just me or is this scary? maybe its the sudden loud and uplifting music during the night that ticked me off, or maybe its just the repetitiveness? idk
NO ITS NOT YOU MAN I WONDERED THE SAME THING, I have no idea why but when ever I used to turn on the TV late at night and I was watching this during the day the music made me frozen and I would have goosebumps go down my spine, I think of it now and I have no idea why or how I believe its the uplifting music as u said but also the fact that u have pictures of people smiling, and probably since ur up late at night I don't know but YOU ARE NOT ALONE here
It’s on repeat until the morning with no talking. So it’s dark and it’s lonely. Coupled with us not liking no stimulus when we’re young, it’s pretty frightening.
I used to play Mario kart 7 while listening to this and then morning radio.

I really miss back when it was abc 3 and not abc me. I don’t mind abc me but there’s something so special and unique about coming home from school and watching this channel.

Same with me, I remember sitting there by the fire with the lights dim at my nans house would come to the television after dinner to settle in for some nice television and this would come on since I probably was watching abc3 during the day so I must of turned the tv off with the channel selected so when I turned it on and that music would play I would freeze and be shit scared.

It's weird because I know for a fact that the executives at ABC didn't intend to scare kids with this, and it typically isn't anything scary. I think it's only the context we have, it's dark and you're alone in the middle of the night. If you showed this clip to someone in the US there would be no reaction.
I think it’s also the fact that everyone in the house is asleep, so when this plays it just feels way more eerie

In my opinion, ABC ME is trying to be RUclipsy and trying to appeal to younger children, if you look at the ABC 3 outtakes video you will see how much fun they are having, now ABC ME just looks like this one take bullshit full of a bunch of feminists. It’s honestly sad to see how ABC has shaped our childhood channel.

Yes, they seem to occasionally play shows for no aparrent reason at that time - the "Miraculous" special was the most recent one. This was just last night!

How did you find this?
Had a video recorder and recorded some ABC3 at 6am (they were playing "Ruhrats" at the time). It started recording early and got some of this. I must have moved some of the recordings to an external hard drive then forgot about them. One day, s few years ago, I plugged the hard drive in to see what was on it. And I thought I'd put this up to be a bit silly. But I'm glad to have made so many people happy instead. And accidentally traumatised a few as well!

@@celestxial You can get a card for your computer, called a tuner card. Or some media players at your local electronics shop can also record TV. As for being scared, nah, I'm a lot older than you'd guess. Way too old to be watching ABC3.
