I got a sucf controller this year and I owned a elite controller and I love the sucf controller better. The quality is good and the thumbsticks are great. I give it a 10 out of 10.
Is it still good and worth it to get
No, Severe stick drift after 6 month and 20 days...out of warranty, Scuf said it would have to be rebuilt and at least $100 to fix. Sorry, going back to Elite 2 with the $60 extra warranty.
I am sorry to hear that, at that point it does make sense to go with the elite
@@xater7094 I don't feel I am hard on controllers but even the best ones last me on average 9 months so I buy a lot of controllers. I have 6 Xbox's in my home, three in the Man-Cave for me and my boys to play together and the others scattered around the house providing different uses for the entire family. THE BEST DEAL IS: Elite 2 with the $65 dollar, 2 YEAR warranty. I'm on my 6th Elite 2 controller. After #5, I purchased the Scuf Instinct Pro. I loved it. At about 3 months a could squeeze the left trigger and I could feel the controller soften and the trigger would stick occasionally. No problem, trigger stops were better anyway (best feature easily). Scuf warranty is 180 days and literally at day 200 the drift was real. The warranty was still good from Best Buy so I went back to Elite 2's.
ALL controllers will continue to suffer this issue until they are forced to improve the sticks they use. I have heard there is a class action suit on this very issue going on right now.
Bought the scuf over amazon. 2 year warranty for $6
@@luxter858 I only see a $24 for two year and $33 for 3 years. How did you get one for $6?
@@TheyCallMeJuicy Maybe its different here in germany? I could get either no warranty or 2 years for 6€
The 4 bottom buttons are perfect. Very intuitive and I like how they are already setup with 3 different settings. Plus you can change anything without an app. This controller is amazing.
Mine lasted 6 months before a strong vertical drift plagued the right stick. Sent it to scuf out of warranty, and it was a $75 repair after tax. Ouch
No one’s talking about the cat that’s licking the glass in the background ahah
It is her world, we are all just living in it ;)
It licks glass because the last time it licked it the windex chemically damaged its brain.
My 2nd Elite Series II is giving me intermitent responsive Bumper/and face buttons. Same as the one i had before which ended completely unresponsive. After some diging around it comes down to a manufacturing problem from Microsoft using cheaper parts for the internal buttons.
So I ordered the SCUF Xbox Instinct Pro cuz i already have the SCUF PS5 Reflex Pro and has been perfect so far.
@powerhouse884 how it’s holding up?
@@HeGotKicks The SCUF Instinct Pro? Is Perfect, i am currently using it over the rest. I like the dedicated Screenshot//Recording button (Not available on the Series 2). The Trigger switch is much better for Shooters since it gives an actual Mouse click vibe, much faster than on the Elite Series 2 shortest switch setting.
I like Both PS5 and XBOX Scuf iterations this time around. I think CORSAIR did an excellent job fixing the problems when they acquired the brand.
@@powerhouse884 thinking about buying one I play Dead by daylight and Street Fighter 6 would be Call of duty but it’s all rn
@@powerhouse884 recommended ?
@@HeGotKicks I do play fighting games and the tigger switch is great when using the shoulder/trigger buttons quickly.
For MK games i use the PS5 Scuf Reflex Pro because the D-Pad is better. For Street Fighter games the analog is better so the Xbox Scuf Instinct Pro is great for it and the trigger switch.
Is also very useful in Dark Souls, Elden Rings, etc.
I love the feel of this controller and the paddles. My left stick broke after a month. And I am currently a month in waiting for the repair. I know I have “heavy hands” while playing but for the money, that’s unacceptable. I primarily and playing NHL 22 right now for reference.
I see, there are many ways that they can improve on the durability of controllers, it's just a matter of if they care enough I guess. I have had no issues as of right now but I hope a company comes out with a really premium durable controller at some point
I have a Scuf instinct pro and it's the best controller I've ever purchased!!! I also have the elite v2 and it's also a great controller but I absolutely love my Scuf.
Glad to hear it!
@david-md7nf how is it so far
I'm terrified of those bottom angled paddles. I've always used longer paddles and I'm worried my hand placement will be fucked
@@chrisl3193no it won’t, theyr a little weird but I use my middle fingers to control all four of them you just need to use like the side profile of ur finger for the two inner buttons, u can use 4 fingers but I find that to be uncomfortable
Sorry, it doesn't come close to the Xbox Elite Series 2. Elite 2 has selectable triggers and far superior paddles. Oh, and it's usually about $40 less than the scuf. And yes, I have both.
bro got catnip in that gfuel cup in the beginning xD
good video man :D
Exactly what I was looking for. Thank you
No problem :)
I feel like i just watched a review made by max verstappen
Thank you for this ! Warzone is my go 2 game. So I’m definitely gonna give this remote control a GO 😁
Let me know how you like it!
Every time I start the PC I have to pair it every time bluetooth 🤷♂️🤷♂️
after 9 months my instinct finally gave out. My controller was fine the night before it broke but the next day I got on and my right thumbstick had an unplayable amount of stick drift (I had to turn my deadzone up to 70 to have no stick drift which makes it almost impossible to aim). Hopefully, I can get it repaired because I'm not spending another $300 on a controller.
That definitely makes most games unplayable. Let me know how the process goes with getting it fixed. I hope all goes well!
Hey bro, good video and info. I’m looking at a scuf and wondering how that same controller held up over the last 9 months since this video. Any more info would be greatly appreciated.
Of course! Mine has held up well and is still working properly. Maybe only a little more stick drift is the only thing that I have noticed.
Was very disappointed I couldn't map triggers. That's why I stay with the elite 2. Also I payed to customise it and they couldn't even give me the other 2 thumbs in grey. Cheap lazy and wouldn't recommend it. Stick drift after 20 hours play like alot of people and buttons sucked padles.rule.i was surprised at that. Of and a button doesn't always press and acknowledge.
Your honestly the first video I've come across that says you like the back paddles I only use 2 on my elite s2 cause I'm hand heavy and have long fingers I like that back paddles set up better cause I'll use all 4 paddles
Just sent my elite 2 back for the 5th time. I sent it back 3 weeks ago, they got it and sent it right back. They never even tried to fix it. I was pissed..giving them one more chance and that's it.
Yikes, I hope it went well
@@xater7094 No , I'm done eith elite 2, they sent me a core and after a week, drifting bad. The turtle beach controller is doing great. Really like it, but I wanna get something that feels like series x controller, so I'm gonna try hex gaming advanced controller
I have it and just wish i could disable right stick click. No matter what shooter game i play i cannot stop meleing. even when i switch to button smasher, then i start crouching. I need to disable it completely (Xbox X)
Is that the Damascus camo on a controller
Would you say it beats the victris gambit I have elite 1 elite 2, astro ,razor wolverine ps4 scuff controller and the last scuff and the elite 2 had worst durability,
This controller makes my hands hurt and the top right button on the back makes my finger go NUMB when i use it too much… weird… its coop that its wireless but it still needs batteries and theres only one battery pack out there (made by xbox btw) that works with this controller.
I use the wolverine Chroma 2. It shits on this controller all day everyday.
My instict's paddles wont remap anymore and i've had it a year or 2 my profiles are all fucked but all the paddles work fine idk why i cant remap anymore tho
I hve this scuf and have been using it for fortnite and cod. The two upper paddle buttons are hard for me to use . I prefer my elite series 2. Gd controller tho but the fact that I have to hold the controller a certain way to use all for paddle buttons suxx. But gd controller tho.
So I don't want to spend all the money and I ordered the elite series 2 xbox controller and when I opened it it was nice it had all the. Extra parts of fancy case, but the controller is literally tiny. I'm a big guy. I have very big hands. I tried to game with it for a couple days. I even bought in the control freaks to try to help with the Comfort but it didn't help so I sent it back and I ordered a stuff and I love it fits my hands the triggers are the best that I. Have felt, and I've seen the day I don't need some stick tensioners. Or to be able to change my xbox home button's color.
It should come with a case! Pro controller should have a case for sure.
There is no Scuf controller that is worth the price. They sell it at best buy and just like any pro control you can get the 2 year geek squad protection. But the difference is every pro control is 60 bucks for a 2 year. The Scuf for a 2 year protection is 120 bucks. So for over half of what the control costs you can get a 2 year warranty 😂 if that isn't a red flag idk what is 😂
I’ve had mine for 2 weeks and can’t tell if the instant triggers are defective. They work but are way more challenging of a press than a traditional trigger. Have you noticed a similar tough press or are yours easy to press/activate?
I haven't noticed mine being harder to press than a traditional trigger although that could just be from use overtime loosening the trigger. I don't believe they are intended to be too hard to press. I would say contact Scuf and see if they could assist you
@@xater7094 I’d be A-ok if they loosened up, but I have 30 days to return to Amazon so gotta make sure it works properly 😂 appreciate you giving input so quick
Absolutely! I would definitely take advantage of that return policy.
Loves the cat in the background
Thank you, i don't pay her enough for her hard work 🥲
Can you turn off the vibration/rumble in the game, or do you need to have it removed when you buy it? Cause they charge for that
You can turn it off manually within each game
Hmm I was considering ordering this controller but from reading the comments I'm a little conflicted
Yeah, my experience is pretty solid but I can only speak for myself. Scuf is defiantly pricy for what you are getting, the razer wolverine ultimate isn't bad from my testing
true review
I just a got Wolverine V2 Chroma but haven’t opened it as I had traded my original Xbox controller for credit at GameStop. I don’t know if I will like the paddles. I am worried about the durability of detachable usb on the Jack. I know every brand has issues so maybe I should just go back to stock. I mean it would cost me only $20 for new stock with my trade instead of paying $80 for my trade towards Chroma 2. Scuf looks nice but too pricey.
A stock controller isn't the end of the world! I started out with bumper jumper tactical layout and got the same results as using a pro controller with paddles :)
@@xater7094 update. I enjoyed the Chroma for about an 1hr. I really liked it but when I went to customize my extra button controls with Razer Xbox app it asked me to update my controller with new firmware that totally bricked it! I went back to exchange it back to the stock controller that I started with. I was so frustrated. This time I bought 2yrs insurance for only $16. I guess I’ll be waiting for what’s new in 2023. I did love the form factor of the chroma 2 though.
That is awful, I am sorry. I hope 2023 is the year of durable controllers 🙏
Mine has stick drift on my right thumbstick
My right stick started drifting without me touching it. I just sent it back today to get repaired.
Let me know how that process goes for you!
@@xater7094 it went good. Cost me 70.00 plus tax. But they put another warranty on it
That was nice of them. Hopefully you should be good for a while
@@xater7094 I hope so. It last over 180 days then started going bad.
I use this Controller for like 6 Months, and after 2 Monthe the first issues started. I payed almost 300€ for it, the warranty is a joke, if Scuf would repair it, it would take around 2 Month and almost 100 Euros.
I had a terrible Stickdrift after 3 Months, and 1 Paddle gave up after 3 Months. The Controller feels cheaper then a standart Controller imo. And why the heck u have to use batteries by that Price?
The Battery door falls out countless times per day, from the beginning.
The only positve thing, is the Clicktrigger. If you play more then 2 hours a day, dont buy this Controller.
Alot of my friend think so too.
Since Corona started, scuf just lacks quality and i wont pay 100 Euros for that again. I dont go hard on my Controllers, i clean it every 1/ 2 Weeks. This Company is super overrated rn.
I agree, I feel they should do more to care for their customers and have better communication. I am sorry your experience was a bad one.
the back buttons are not comfortable at all! they should have copied the design of vitrix pro bfg back buttons
How is the stick tension? I’m on my 3rd Elite series 2 and starting to have issues, double inputs, no inputs on bumpers, etc. The one thing I love still is the tighter sticks but isn’t a make or break when I look for something new.
The back buttons instead of paddles and mouse click triggers was something I loved when looking at the instinct pro
I've had nothing but problems with the elite series 2, me and my mate have each replaced ours bout 3/4 times due to button sticking and stick drift. Its good to hear the scuff has longevity with its quality tho
I would def try a new brand, let me know what controller you end up going with!
My 2nd Elite Series II is giving me intermitent responsive Bumper/and face buttons. Same as the one i had before which ended completely unresponsive. After some digging around it comes down to a manufacturing problem friom Microsoft using cheaper parts for the internal buttons and they dont last as much as a regular Xbox controller.
I ordered the SCUF Xbox Instinct Pro cuz i already have the SCUF PS5 Reflex Pro and has been perfect so far. I am not buying another Elite Series II after my 2nd one dying over here.
@@powerhouse884how is the scuf so far ?
Hey man i'm thinking of buying the controller is there any issues now or is it still going good
Same question here
The controller has been great for me. No issues that are standing out to me yet. I am interested to see how it will be at the year mark!
@@xater7094Hello! 10 months later, did it show any defects?
Surprisingly no, everything still works as intended. There is a little bit of stick drift now and the controller is more creaky but that is to be expected with extended use :)
@@xater7094 Thanks for the information man
I just bought mine for $90 almost like new
Where?
Marketing and name brand is not quality bro, i may want some upgrades with a "controller", but the series 2 elite is insanely better imo. If xbox is your thing plus it can be overthrottled too on pc. Sorry but i strongly disagree.
What is the best xbox controller
Honestly there are a bunch to choose from, if you can get used to stock controllers with a different button layout I would say that is the way to go, but the razer wolverine ultimate isn't a bad one for the price and performance.
I was just abt to get an elite now I'm rethinking
There are plenty of good options out there depending on your needs. If I can be of any help let me know!
@@xater7094 bro I mainly play fortnite and the instant triggers look appealing
@@xater7094 I play claw and 1 paddle aswell I was on the power a buy didn't like the trigger stops
The instant triggers definitely are a game changer in my opinion. Most controllers that have trigger stops make the trigger a half press rather than a full press. This is the first controller I have seen that turns the trigger into a mouse click. Definitely good for getting every advantage over an opponent
Yeah how long did you wait for it to come
The cat wants gfuel
Can i hold you liable if my controller doesn’t work?
You have the Xater guarantee 😂
Does your controller still work?
It does yes! I am using it right now as a matter of fact :)
The cat likes that g fuel
My P4 paddle on the broke off. Honestly it’s a pretty horrible design concept due to it being a tiny piece of plastic.
I am sorry to hear that, have you been able to contact Scuf about it?
@@xater7094 super glue to the rescue lol. I was just outside of the 30 day window and I bought mine through Amazon. It’s been holding up, but I used construction grade for the tiny connection part.
That is incredible, super glue really can fix everything can it? 😂
I don't think your cat should be having gfuel xD
Please don't exhalt the durability of the Scuf controller when Scuf only offer 6 months warranty! That's a discrace! For shame Scuf, for shame indeed.
Scufs bought in 2023 and beyond now have a 1 year warranty
They unfortunately don't have scuf controllers on Amazon in canada. So I can't get one with better warranty. I'm not paying $350 for a controller that only comes with a 6 month warranty. I've heard amazon offers extended multi year warranty for barely anything extra. Scuf should really up the ball on this and they'll get most customers. Elite 2 it is I guess
I 100% agree with you, for all controllers 6 months is too short to tell for most issues that will inevitably pop up
LMAOO Good Luck with that Elite Series II.
I am on my 2nd Elite Series II and is already giving me Intermitent Bumper/and Face buttons problems. Just so you know, i take good care of ALL my tech and i dont game a lot cuz of my work. (Taking that into consideration) BOTH of the Elite Series II controllers that i had started to give me the same problems after 2-3 years with NO daily use. So yeah, all the quality complaints from people out there are all true. Microsoft is using cheaper part for the Internal switches on the Elite Series to keep the cost down. They do not last like the Standard Xbox Series S controller. SCUF uses the XBOX Series S controller and mods them with their MOBO and paddles, so they are more reliable.
fyi The NEW SCUF back paddles were redesign after CORSAIR bought the SCUF brand so these are more resistant.
I am not buying another Elite Series II and i already have a SCUF PS5 Reflex Pro that has been great so far. I order the SCUF XBOX Instict Pro for this very reason, it should arrive in 3 days :)
Thinking about trying scuff I'm fed up with the elite series, I've had the elite 1 bumpers crap out and I hardly even used it, I've been through 2 elite series 2, the first one had bumper issues as well, thought it was a dud so I bought another one and who wants to guess? Yep right bumper crapped it's pants on me after 3 months, sent it in got it fixed through warranty and 3 days later I have a unresponsive right bumper, the controller looks brand new but their bumpers are trash as hell. Never had stick drift with elite though, I feel like it's an amazing controller, the feel of it and the quality seems good, it's just the bumpers are not good
My dad has that exact same issue, his right bumper gave out after a year, I bought him another one. hopefully that one will not have the same problem...
awsome reviwe bro
thinkin of gettin one
Sweet! Let me know how you like it if you buy one!
@@xater7094 got one and it was great
hope to get some more time out of it
That is awesome, let me know how you like it! I just ordered the PS5 version and I am excited to see how the two compare!
it almost broke but i figured out how to fix it
its sticks had stick drift out of the box
Not worth 250. I bought two of these in a span of a year. Garbage controller. Don’t believe the hype
$250 for a controller is flat out fucking stupid.
So basically he’s saying that it’s way better than the Elite Series 2 controller?!
Personally I prefer the buttons compared to the paddles. I also own an elite series 2 controller and I prefer the feel of the instinct pro. I feel like it also depends what games you play and if you believe scuf is worth the money. With the amount of time I sink into competitive warzone I do not regret the purchase one bit!
DO NOT BUY A SCUF CONTROLLER!!! Waste of money for a controller that is gonna last you less than 7 months
Instinct pro is trash , my elite 2 lasted 1.5 years scuf instinct 2 months and right stick is drifting up horribly and now unusable . Now I have to pay to ship the controller to scuf and wait who knows how long till I get it back . Going to sell it as soon as it gets back . I have never had analog issues until I tried the elite 2 then I buy a scuf and its even shittier . Avoid the instinct at all costs not worth it
I am sorry that you had a bad experience. That is kinda rough. Unfortunately companies still manufacture the control sticks in a way that is not great. All controllers are prone to stick drift. Unfortunately some brands are worse than others :(
I've had literally 3, and all 3 have broken at exactly 90 days... this control is a hot piece of garbage
I am sorry that you have had a bad experience with them, I am hopeful they will continue to up their quality control on their products in the future, with that being said both of mine still work as indented!
@xater7094 honestly, I don't get it. Yes, I use it daily to play fps. But I take better care of it than I do my wife. Do you use yours daily?
I do yes, for about 2 or 3 hours a day
That car loves gfuel
Beep Beep :p
lol the cat
What cat?
Scuf wants AA batteries 😂 yeah ok bro
That's lame
Try battlebeaver you will never use another brand again. 80% of cod pros use this brand even the ones sponsored by scuf. They have rear buttons which are far superior also you can place the rear buttons where you want.
I will have to check them out, I have heard a lot about them!
