    ▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂
    ➤➤Transcript (Partial):
    So, okay. So you've got the world parsed up into things that are making you happy when you look at them, things that get in the way that produce negative emotion, and then a whole host of irrelevant things because almost everything’s irrelevant. And that's where all the chaos is hiding. The chaos is hiding in what's irrelevant. And that's a very interesting observation because since the chaos is virtually infinite, it's a real question-is where the hell do you put it? Well, you put it in what you ignore. And you can ignore it as long as it isn't actively interfering with your movement forward. You can assume that it doesn't matter, that it isn't matter, that it doesn't matter. Same thing. All right, so here's the kicker-there's one more class of things that you can run into along the way. And this is where the chaos breaks through. So let's say you're moving from point A to point B and something that you don't expect occurs and it gets in the way. So, let's say that you're living with someone and maybe you kind of like them. You're not married, so you don't like them that much because otherwise you'd ask them to marry you. But anyways, a quarter of you is looking for something better and three quarters of you is half satisfied, something like that, and uh, ‘cause we're ambivalent about such things. And then the person, you discover, or the person, announces that they've been having an affair. Okay, so then how are you supposed to respond emotionally to that? Well, the part of you that wasn't all that committed to the relationship is kind of exhilarated by that, and then the three quarters of you that's half satisfied is hurt and and you're going to exploit that part for sure in the ensuing discussions and not mention the-oh! that's kind of exciting that you've, you know, betrayed me that way. So... So... But the point is-is that you-that's a hole. Now what's happened is a hole has-you have this structure that you're walking on like ice, like the thin ice that you're skating on, and now there's a hole in it. And the hole-we don't even know how deep the hole is, but you know there's a hole there. And so now you're anxious about it, although maybe also a little bit excited because God only knows what's down there. But you don't know what to do with that hole because it could spread very badly on you. It could be that, you know, the whole relationship was a facade and that all your relationships have been facades and that the reason that is is because you're so damn shallow that it's impossible for you to have a relationship that isn't just a facade, and that's partly because you don't pay any attention to other people and it's also partly because you're malevolent and selfish. So that's a nasty thing to discover. Or maybe that's the sort of person that you're attracting, which would make sense, actually, if that's the sort of person that you are. So, there are certain things that you can encounter that basically unglue you, and what happens is that those moments of being unglued travel up that entire hierarchy of presuppositions. It's like, because one of the logical conclusions to being betrayed in a relationship is that you are-that you're truly a bad person. Now, another equally logical conclusion is that the person that you're with is really a bad person, and another logical conclusion is all people are truly bad people. You know? I mean, in macro ways and in micro ways, you can't trust anyone...

    First I would like to begin my comment by saying Jordan Peterson has done a great deal not only for worldly folks but for the kingdom as well. I've been a long time fan of Jordan's but I noticed something that most almost all missed about him. Jordan was perfectly comfortable with his fellow philosophers of old and they're wisdom and he effectively leveled any competition readily. But I came to know Christ just as I purchased the Book rules for life as it had just become available and I was moving away from his beliefs because God had given me a hunger for his word that to this day I still can't satisfy, however I'd still check in on Jordan because I just admired him. And here's what I seen that most missed. As he was covering The Book of Genesis Mr. Peterson hit a wall of knowledge that was so complex, rich, and deep that he moved almost completely away from his own doctrine and took up the word of God as he still uses to this day. He just doesn't brand it as Christianity because he wants you heathens to put yourselves together and not run you off by teaching the fundamental principles and truths of the bible and stays away from Biblical doctrines. But make no mistake about it. Jordan Peterson is a believer in Christ Jesus and he's in love with The Word of God.

    • @judithmargret5972
      @judithmargret5972 3 года назад

      Its not Christianity. He speaks vain philosophy. Find a Biblical teacher who exergete Scripture so it can be understood as it was meant to be.

    • @servant472
      @servant472 3 года назад

      @@judithmargret5972 I'm born again and walk with Christ daily so no need of finding a Bible teacher because the Holy Spirit is sufficient. We all have quite the journey before landing at the foot of Christ. I also know what it looks like when the Holy Spirit convicts a person. I still follow Jordan because I believe God's calling him. God said if you seek him in his word he will reveal himself to you and I believe that is what happened to Mr. Peterson. You know now that I think of it, King Solomon Son of David, spoke philosophy as well and as a matter of fact, It was his wisdom that he's most known. Writing Proverbs, Ecclesiastes, Song of Solomon and the Wisdom books. Don't be afraid of a different point of view, if you are lead by the Spirit he will always guide you. In the words of King Solomon Ecclesiastes 1:18
      For in much wisdom is much vexation, and he who increases knowledge increases sorrow.
      God Bless

    FLOOD MYTH
    From the book “Weather Lore,” Reader’s Digest, Published 2007, comes the following … Floods ... Almost 5000 years ago, some scientists believe, a large asteroid or comet crashed into the Indian Ocean, producing a tsunami about 13 times as big as the one that inundated Southeast Asia in December 2004. That almost every culture throughout history has had a flood myth, of which Noah and the Ark is the most famous in the Western world, demonstrates the fear and awe that floods inspire in human consciousness.

    Here is another myth that has ancient mythical roots, from the book Weather Lore, Reader’s Digest …
    Floods
    After Noah, the best-known hero of the flood sagas is the Babylonian hero Gilgamesh, whose account is enshrined in the Epic of Gilgamesh. In ancient Sumer, the man chosen for survival was Ziusudra (meaning “he saw life”). The god Enki warned him of the gods’ decision to destroy mankind in a flood. His tale is found in the Eridu Genesis that dates back to the seventeenth century B.C.: Ziusudra is instructed to build a large boat. The flood persists for seven days, at the end of which, after making sacrifices to the gods, Ziusudra is rewarded with the gift of eternal life.
