I have a Honda CRF, but few buy a 701 or even +600cc to do do tracks like that! I don't do those tracks on my Honda by choice. And yes, the experience of the rider has more to do with it. Have to say that this is a bit of a cheap shot best left on the track.
The 701 LR is indeed a hippo compared to the standard 701 which has just 5kg more than the CRF 300 Rally. And the 15/48 transmission is too sharp for rough terrain. All that torque goes into spinning when you have to give too much throttle. Better change to a 15/52 sprocket set. I think it's mostly the rider in this video. But sure, wouldn't miss myself the occasionin bickering about heavier bikes too :-)
You're being a little disingenuous here, Shonky. Riders being equal the 690/701 spanks the CRF in more places than it doesn't. And this is from a CRF owner but also a prior 690 owner.
Because this was on an adventure ride consisting of hundreds of kilometres including highway sections. It was a track that we had ridden a few years before but is now very eroded.
Just goes to prove that the power you can put down is more important than the power that you have.
Exactly 👍
So summed up = Talent?
This is why I ride a wr250r.
@@Mikael150381 definitely a big part of the equation.
@@Mikael150381 The Husky's are geared too high, whereas the 300L has a granny-low first gear.
That’s going to poke the Husky bear. Could be a 300 vs 701 challenge coming 😂😂
Haha... that's a great idea. Might give them a chance to even the score.
Haha, you little bad ass. I love my Rally too 😍
You are a mean one Mr grinch lol😅. So true though best thing I ever did was replace my 701 with this great little machine
Haha... It was surprising how different they felt to the 300 Rally.
That's the "track that never dries". And great drone shot of the view at the end ;-)
That may be the largest rut in the world!

Cheap shot ! When your mates give you the opportunity you take it 😂😂😂
Ha ha, you opened a can of worms here 🤣🤣🤣
I love this video so much.

It's the rider, not the bike, but the 701/690 can be a handful on technical going.
Yes, you are correct.... on both points.
oh dear, you mean 20K+ and 70hp didn't get him up there 🙂
Hmmm... better not remind them about the price.
Hahah nice one thanks yeah
Finally a bike comparison that’s accurate 👍👍👍
We’re any hippos hurt during the filming of this episode, or just their pride ?
Haha... There was some hurt pride during, but lots after! 🤣
😄
ruffle some feathers right there lol.
Haha... yes, I did.
What is that body work he has on that Husky....

I think you're missing the tongue in cheek aspect of this video.
Maybe true but the CRF looks better and that good enough for me 👍
Joys of social media and the internet ,always two sides to a story ,well played this time 😉
I don't know man.. I'll take my little wr250r any day... except on the highway 😁
Why do people buy such large bikes for the type of riding lol... i have a wr400 plenty of poke. Fairly light.
