Man, the fact you managed to clock so many miles in a day on a CRF300 alone is impressive. That you also made a short movie about it blows my mind. Well done!!!
That’s what I said!! Truly awesome! I barely had 1000mi on my ADV150 after having it for 7mos! To be fair, it was in the shop for almost 3mos, so I didn’t get to actually get to enjoy riding until I got it back. Got right over 7k miles right now, but don’t plan on putting over 15k on it considering I want to sell it after I pay it off and get me the CRF300L next year 😉 Had some douche say to me, “Wow 7k miles isn’t anything to brag about” and I was like well duh dipsht I want to resell it (considering you usually get less value on a trade in) & our winter here in TN was awful so 🤷🏼♀️ 🤣

Noraly, aka itchyboots took hers from South America to Prudhoe Bay. When mechanics tore down hers the engine looked brand new and 99% of repairs were wear items. The one exception was the secondary shaft replacement, where an aftermarket sprocket had damaged it due to improper fit.

I hope you collected receipts and such and submitted for a IBA Saddlesore 1000. You deserve some type of offical recognition for your efforts. Great vid as well!
Just for completeness, I went and checked the IBA big list. There are 45 instances of “CRF” in the list. Only 3 aren’t crf1000’s (Africa twins). 3 people in the many tens of thousands who have done an IBA ride have done it on a similar bike (all CRF250 rally’s- I assume because the 300 is a newer model and hasn’t had time to be ridden yet)

This is insanity to me lol. I've done nearly 3 hours straight and that was the most for me. You must have the concentration of a supercomputer and the buns of steel. And you still took time to do drone shots. It's just incredible. Ride on and ride safe.
I have done several 10+ hour rides in my life, but always on a bike with a comfy seat, and my butt still got mad at me. I can only imagine on the rally that it would have been worse! I am very impressed.
Every time I think I need a bike bigger than my DRZ400...I see something like this and realize I have the right bike, and just need to make a few adjustments. Well done!
Well, one of the good things about the CRF300 is that it is geared high and has a sixth gear, so it can do highway pretty well. I used to have a DRZ400, and the close-ratio 5-speed trans. was a pain on the highway, bike was always screaming even at 65mph. I sold it and got a DR650, which is MUCH nicer on the highway and doesn't even break a sweat cruising at 80mph.
This offroad motorcycle is an incredible onroad machine ! I'm riding my brand new CRF300L in the city area, and it's so nimble and easy to ride ! These stock tires are amazing onroad...
Respect! I did a 500 mile day on mine and could barely get off the bike at the end! And you did it with the stock seat as well! My 300 Rally has done 7,500 miles now and feels like it'll go forever.
Glad to hear you're getting proper use out of your Rally too🍻 - I don't think most people realize how capable these little bikes are - Ride safe my friend👍
I received the "official"John Wayne Hard Arse Riding Award a few years ago after riding my 250 Rally 750km in one day... Kilometers! Not miles! Of course, I awarded it to myself...lol... However, I now pass this coveted award on to you Sir... Upgraded with Oak leaves! Well done indeed. Lol
What a magnificently made video. And your 'little' 300 Honda just kept pounding out a steady 80 mph run mile after mile. Thank you for putting in the fuel stops, and the miles ridden in the video too. For some crazy reason, bike manufacturers are hung on that refill every 150 miles max nonsense. The drone shots, the editing, the music, the change in video speed in some shots, everything added up to an outstanding video experience. Well done. And Well Done to your trusty Honda too. Just Wow.
I've been poking around the web for just about any and all data on this little bike> What you've shown is ALL I NEED to pull the trigger. THANK YOU for sharing the experience!!!! What a true adventure! Well done, sir! Well DONE!
You are proper hardcore total respect. Another fantastic video thoroughly enjoyed it and what a great little bike your CRF is. Thank you again from the UK for sharing your trips.
A 1000 mile day is NO JOKE. Particularly as the icing on a nice ADV ride cake. Good work and great footage of your journey. That 300 Rally spent some time really spinning that day.
Fantastic video and hugely impressive on the little Honda. Loved the way you made the video about the bike, the trip and the beautiful country and not about trying to be a 'RUclips' star. One of the best I've seen and will certainly look out for more of your work. Superb.
Thanks buddy👍 I really appreciate the thoughtful comment! You are correct regarding how I make the videos. They are made to capture the "feeling" of what it's like traveling on a motorcycle - the videos aren't about me at all.
Incredible. Rode 900klms (around 680 miles) on my MT09 this summer in one day down through Spain and thought that was good going. Well done and just shows how great the Honda bikes are.
With a KLR650 2022 model, my best gas mileage was 53mpg, and top consistent speed of 60mph, and spurts up to 70/75mph. You did 70-85 in most this footage, and the worst you had was still 53mpg. The CRF300 Rally is truly an amazing bike!

Respect! Rode 630 miles in one day on a Triumph Bonneville a few years ago which gives me a little insight into your awesome achievement. Own a 300l Rally now:) That you did it on the stock seat is gritty to say the least. Awesome ride and great film!
I did 770 miles in one day, I wanted to keep going but my riding partner was wet and cold and tired on his bike. But I was on a Harley and that's like cheating compared to you! I now also have a crf300l and look forward to many miles on it. Your video encourages me, thanks!
I drove that in a comfortable car early September and thought how horrible that ride would be on a motorcycle. Wasn't it awesome in some of those areas where there was no sign of life in the hills. Salt Lake City had some crazy drivers there also. I made a special trip during busy hours to get to the Olympic Oval to skate my first long track indoor ice. Ventured to Missouri for a wedding, Wisconsin to visit family and bring someone back home. Big rink in Milwaukee also. and then the big drive back home to Camano Island. Those of you that can handle that kind of mileage have my respect. That's some hard riding. :)
You sound well traveled buddy👍 I'm always surprised by how little people travel our beautiful country by road - It's all there free for the taking and people don't do it. Ride safe!
@@TrekEthos thank you. Still need something to keep the throttle hand from going numb and same for the bum after a good hour on the saddle. I so have a contours seat on my 250l rally. Fun bikes.
I’ve put in some hard days on the motorcycle but my hats off to you on that one. What a testament to that little CRF motor that it would live at 80% to wide-open throttle tank after tank after tank and not only not bat an eye about it but still average over 50 miles a gallon doing it
That was awesome. Loved the way you picturized your journey without saying a word. Someone like me (shy) could definitely use this technique. Love from India. ❤️

Great story, epic adventure, and very nice production values on the video. I have the CRF300L (standard, non-Rally), have done some long rides and big 50/50 on/off-road loops, and I find that the miles just melt away on the little CRF... It's not a BMW, but I have been really pleased with how you can log a lot of miles on this friendly, reliable, and fun machine! The best ride is the next one! Ride on!
Holy crap dude. Mad respect!!! 1000 miles in one day is tuff on a Harley let alone the fact you freaking nailed it on that 300L! And what amazing video quality from your drone. I've never been to the NW states and it looks amazing. Really, thanks for sharing.
I did about the same distance for a fund raiser for kids. When properly documented, it's called an "Iron Butt." 1k or more miles in 24 hours or less. We all used touring bikes. My hat is off to this guy to do it on a 300!!
I’m impressed. I do a similar route each year. I ride from Portland to south of Salt Lake to visit my daughter - 835 miles. I do it on a big BMW GS1200 which is much easier. I’m impressed you found time to get drone shots. Great job.
Massive respect, that’s a hell of a lot of miles for a small engine and from what I’ve seen the seat leaves a bit to be desired on a journey of that magnitude. Loved every minute of the vid, in short the whole gig was bloody awesome. Glad you made it back safe
Very encouraging. I recently got myself a Honda CRF300L and I am yet to collect it from the dealership. The dealership is about 800 km away from my town. I look forward to bringing it home.
That was badass! I wouldn't trust a lot of other bikes to handle being basically redlined all day long with no issues, especially dual sports. I'm mainly a sport bike guy but definitely looking at getting one of these 300L Rally models in the future!
Wow, nice ride & very similar to what I did a few years back. And lots of people say you need a big cruiser to do those miles. I was on a F650CS single and took off from Spokane Wa, (BMW Rally) about 5am to near Napa Ca, about 980 miles in about 15 hours. I tried to keep it as fast as possible (about 75 mph) without getting pulled over. It took about 6 fillups & I averaged 63 mpg for the trip. I had absolutely no problems except very sore inner thighs from the seat. I have an 800 twin now, but that single 650 was the best handling bike I ever owned and a pleasure to ride long distances or short. Next time I may try that little Honda. Thanks.
What a day. I've ridden 700+ miles in a day and never once was it on a bike with one piston...congratulations! As someone else pointed out, buns of steel and super human concentration. I subscribed. Great video work!
Thanks this brings back memories as I have traveled over some of these roads. In 2010 I flew from Sydney Australia to San Francisco. I then picked up a hire Harley Davidson Ultra Glide and rode of to the rally in Sturgis SD. So a list of some of the towns, city's etc I traveled through, Carson City, Ely, West Wendover, Salt Lake City, Rawlins, Casper, Gillet, Sturgis. At Sturgis camped at there Buffalo Chip, saw Bob Dylan, ZZ Top, Pee-wee Herman plus other bands a great melting pot Stugis. Going back to San Francisco was Spearfish, Gillette, Buffalo, Yellowstone Park, Idaho Falls, Boise, Burns, Bend, Eugine, Coos Bay then down H15 to pick up old highway 1 through the old giant redwoods then SF to catch a plane back to Australia. On the last day I covered over 500 miles and still got to see all the sights on my bucket list. Take car you all.
Yeah what's impressive to me is that he is running that bike completely wide open at top speed the whole time, for 1000 miles. That must be a very well-designed and very tough little engine, to be able to survive that without failing.
I have a 2021 Rally and a Versys 300X. 1000 miles plus on the Rally is super impressive. I would have called off and taken another day. I just got back from a 160 mile trip and the last few miles when I'm on my work route were the hardest. Good video I watched till the end.
Impressed by both the riding and the video editing. That you did that on the stock seat is amazing. Just came back from the Oregon coast and thought of your other video while driving my car down 101. I'll be selling the WR250R for either the 300L or the PR7 when the supply lines start working again and will do that Oregon trip. Not up to a 1,000 mile jaunt.
Thanks buddy👍 Haven't seen you on here in awhile. I still got my WR, it's a better bike in some ways to the Honda but for longer distance travel the Honda has the clear edge. I've never ridden anything like the PR7 before, I suspect that would be on a whole different level. The 101 makes for a great motorcycle route - Ride safe
BRILL VID!! 💪 last time i done 1000 mls in a day was on a 1993 suzuki gsx600f, took me 21 hours, very overloaded with camping luggage, the forks would flex every time i set off, the headlight was nearly star gazing, the wife as pillion and including the ferry back from Europe, i was well done in after it..i know how hard it is to keep the concentration going when you are so tired , so well done! after 32 years of riding, I gave up my 1000cc+ sport tourers/adventure bikes 8 months ago and bought a new royal enfield himalayan, basically same top speed as your CRF300L and i love it! you dont need top end speed to have fun, the low cc bikes are sooo much fun to ride 🤣👍 Hi from the UK by the way 😁
Thanks man👍 A GSX600F with a pillion sounds much more difficult to me that what I did - The Honda really is pretty comfortable I just chilled in the slow lane and watched the miles go by. Yeah I get what you mean about the Royal Enfield - I used to ride a Ducati Multistrada and downgraded by 125HP to get the lightweight Honda... it was totally worth it🍻🍻 Ride safe my friend
Just found this video. Wow that is crazy impressive. Awesome drone shots and music as well! After getting my 2023 Rally in June I can't stay off it and I may never buy another bike! I try to explain to people (on and off-road bikers) how capable it is but they can't understand. Here in US we have been mislead that bigger, more power, more weight, more money (a lot), more maintenance, and less fuel efficiency is better. I think that narrative does well to fit a macho image, but that's about it. I kind of felt the interstates are not where the 300 Rally shines but you have proven it VERY capable there as well. I won't bat an eye now if I need to to run long distance on the open highway. Thank You! Peace!
This is insane.. 1700km in one day.. the most I did was 650km on a dual sport 150cc I was absolutely broken.. 1200km on a supersport 750cc and when arriving at my hotel I fell a sleep straight away.. can't believe you managed to ride for that long!!
Summer of 1972 I did a similar ride on my Honda CB750-4 - Dallas, TX area to Phoenix, AZ (1100 miles) in 16 hours. All through Texas (the first half of the whole ride), I kept it at the speed limit of 70 mph, then I realized it was still morning, so went through NM trying to keep it below 100 mph. When I got to AZ, my butt was so sore that I just pinned it the rest of the way. Only time I dropped below 110 mph was to stop for gas, and in that stretch I was getting about 15 miles per gallon (instead of the normal 45!), so I was stopping about every fifty miles to fill it up. Pour some oil on the chain, and it just went up in smoke, the chain was so hot. Fun times, but I was young and invincible. Never do something that dumb again! Well, except that one time in Pennsylvania when I blew past a highway patrol doing about 120. But he was stopped and out of his car checking on something ... but that's a story for another time!
Another awesome video. I love how you tell your story with subtitles! None of the other dual sport content creators do it the way you do. Keep doing this! Your style is perfect. How were you loaded for this trip? It looks like just a duffle on a tail rack. That seems like a light setup for BDR’s, which usually consists of a lot of camping. Did you skip camping and all the camp gear to hotel it?
Thanks for the thoughtful comment👍🍻 You are correct - I'm carrying very little gear. A lot of the tank bag & drybag on the rear is actually carrying film equipment to make the videos. I basically had food, water, tools, & and an extra pair of clothes - That's it. I've never actually traveled like this until I got this bike (I'd usually split between camping & hotel). The reason I run the bike this way is because the bike is barely powerful enough to work ok on the Highway - If I were to mount panniers in the airstream I honestly don't think I would be able to keep up with traffic on 75mph highways. The soft suspension also becomes more problematic the more weight you add to the bike. One of the cons of traveling like this though is that you have to be much more deliberate with your schedule, you can't just stop and camp for the night anywhere you want. Ride safe buddy👍
@@TrekEthos I have a set of Tusk 27liter aluminum bags on my 18' 250l and they don't seem to bother much unless it"s really windy. I put a stronger spring on the rear to hold the extra weight. Awesome ride man. I've done a couple of 800 mile days on sportbikes but only 400 on my 250l. Kudos!!

I did 4 hours on it last week over the mountain roads in Sicily. How many revs is the bike doing when you have it at 87 mph ? Keep up the good work with the videos 🙂
Thanks buddy👍 Sounds like you've had your fair share of long days in the saddle too🍻 Must be great riding the Rally in Italy - The bike tops out at 83mph (the speedometer get's inaccurate as the tires wear out) where it's doing about 8300 RPM. Ride safe my friend
Great video! What an epic journey and that would seriously test your concentration and stamina, well done! Could I ask which GPS model you use and maps?
As a veteran of several IronButt type rides, I salute you. I have done all of mine on the Africa Twin, running about the same speeds, but getting atrocious fuel economy in the low 40s. That's what steel panniers will do to your aero. You must have done this in summer when the days are longer. When I leave for a 1000 mile ride I typically leave at 2 or 3 in the morning, and stop for "breakfast" at about 10. This means that when i stop for breakfast, i've already got almost 8 hours under my belt and still have most of the day left to ride. Keys to achieving this with some measure of comfort; versatile all season gear, ear plugs quick, efficient stops advil. Take it before you need it. throttle lock or cruise control.

Noraly, aka itchyboots took hers from South America to Prudhoe Bay. When mechanics tore down hers the engine looked brand new and 99% of repairs were wear items. The one exception was the secondary shaft replacement, where an aftermarket sprocket had damaged it due to improper fit.
@@carpathiandevila tw200/crf 300 rally combo would be super sick. One is perfect for messing around at home, especially if you live out in the country, the other bike is for everything else.
I hope you collected receipts and such and submitted for a IBA Saddlesore 1000. You deserve some type of offical recognition for your efforts. Great vid as well!
I have been trying to work up to an SS1k on my KLR for about 18 months. This is incredible.
@@dumntuftv8853 agreed. It may not have been his intent to do a SS1009, why not submit the documentation? As a coincidence I'm working on doing a SS1000 on my KLR as well
After 35 1/2 years in a paper mill, I retire in August. This video is awesome, I have my freedom, I have a 300 Rally, and Moab is 1060 miles from my house. Challenge accepted.
Go for it brother!
Thanks for the wonderful video. I am 65 and just purchased a 300 Rally. I am new to the dual sports world (rode a vstrom for the last 15 years) I have been hesitant to plan long trips on my new bike but after watching your video I realize this bike is plenty capable at long highway cruising. Thanks so much for sharing.
Love to see how it compares to a vstrom as I had one and know the good and bad points of this bike.

730 miles in one day on a KLR is a long way! Hats off to you too sir!

@@danmanthe9335 A good seat for your buns, at highway speeds be careful on the oil burn & watch your gas consumption. The stock front fender is a bit of a sail & can make the front end rather uneasy but lots of cheap options to upgrade, Google is your friend there. Good luck, you'll make it.
These kinds of rides are hardcore, but absolutely possible. If three hours in the saddle is really rough on you... toughen up, buttercup!
After 12 hours even balancing at low speeds becomes very hard. Dangerous as hell, i don't recommend it.
The buns just go numb at some point.

@@trevorjameson3213I got my drz to 113mph it was terrifyingly sick I didn’t know it had it in her. The yoshimura exhaust made a huge difference
This offroad motorcycle is an incredible onroad machine ! I'm riding my brand new CRF300L in the city area, and it's so nimble and easy to ride ! These stock tires are amazing onroad...
They are! I love my WR250R onroad around town, and keep telling people they should not overlook smaller dual-sports.
What tires is he using? could this work in all type of environments? how about rain added to this onroad ride? will those tires still work?
The CRF that could. Crazy easy you make it look to do that much highway riding on that 300. Awesome.
There is a valid reason why this video has 238 likes and 0 dislikes, amazing video very happy I found your channel. Subbed for sure !
What a absolutely stunning video you made for our pleasure! The scenery, the editing, music, aerial shots, just all of it - truly simple and elegant!
Respect! I did a 500 mile day on mine and could barely get off the bike at the end! And you did it with the stock seat as well! My 300 Rally has done 7,500 miles now and feels like it'll go forever.

Lol

What a tremendous film. Thank you for posting. Getting home as the sun is setting... that memory will stay in your mind forever.
Well DONE!

I didn't realize you could push a 300 that hard. I bought one and I just love it your video confirms what a great bike this is.
My Rally has just about 14,000 miles on it now and is still going strong👍

I did 770 miles in one day, I wanted to keep going but my riding partner was wet and cold and tired on his bike. But I was on a Harley and that's like cheating compared to you! I now also have a crf300l and look forward to many miles on it. Your video encourages me, thanks!
We are from the same Hometown! I am retired now out of the country. I loved you video and have rides that route dozens of times!
Ride safe!

Ride on!

I did about the same distance for a fund raiser for kids. When properly documented, it's called an "Iron Butt." 1k or more miles in 24 hours or less. We all used touring bikes. My hat is off to this guy to do it on a 300!!
Aaaaand you got video while doing it. Heroic. Love your videos. 👍👍

Just sold my africa twin and considering buying a rally!
Truly epic. The fact that you did such good drone shots also shows you are made of something else.

Wow! The fact that this little 300cc engine can keep up with traffic at 80+ MPH is impressive. Add that to the amazing MPG you're seeing.
Yeah what's impressive to me is that he is running that bike completely wide open at top speed the whole time, for 1000 miles. That must be a very well-designed and very tough little engine, to be able to survive that without failing.
I can get 50ish MPG on my 1200cc, the mpg is not impressive for such a tiny bike.

That is very impressive. Only bikers realise how hard it is... Cheers
Was great to watch, amazing views and put together brilliantly. Respect for the long miles and being able to wake up so early :)

Keys to achieving this with some measure of comfort;
