- Welcome to Master Saga Season 6! @Farfa and @Nyhmnim are back to compete in another round robin version of Saga. Each week all three of us will open packs before dueling each other to win prizes for the next episode. This time, though, we’ve changed several rules to mix things up!

I MAYBE watch anime the same day it airs, but i ALWAYS catch a saga episode same day
I havnt played yugioh in like 5 years but I watch all these series religiously
I do the same. I rarely play Yu-Gi-Oh but I love watching this shit
I don't really watch movies unless it's a night out to the theater with friends, I don't watch TV shows at all, and I haven't had the time to touch Master Duel since December/January. But I make sure to catch Saga every week on release :)

anyone else think they should incorporate legacy packs into the format in some way? there's several thousand cards that literally cannot be pulled otherwise.

Taking off the legacy bans sounds like a fun idea until someone magically pulls a full DPE package immediately after the first banlist 😔

Yeah, I think some legacy bans are OK (like DPE, Kitkallos or Poplar), since some cards are just not meant to be healthy for the game
The mekknights have also been played alot and its too good for sealed
no legacy bans is a terrible change, as soon as someone pulls one of the game wraping staples it will just be a spam of that until the next banlist
the only way to make no legacy bans viable is to have more frequent bans

Holy shit that was fast - glad you stuck with the 3 man format and Gage, really made the series even more entertaining.

@@Shadowangel09 actually not really. Most things that you need for a solid deck are low rarity, and any high end you pull is insanely good
but if oyu just had 3 of every N/R that is good it would be a very competent deck
Farfa just got unlucky with low end, but extremely lucky with high end so he cant really complain
@@nbassasin8092 tbh I don't think his high end luck was that good. He got the wrong ones. Full Armor master is good but no Zephyros, Simoon, or especially Black Whirlwind is rough.

and full armor master is insane in sealed, had he pulled every low end blackwing
zephyros is arguably the worst one in sealed eithout consistent access to him, id rather have full armor
simoon and black whirlwind I agree, those misses are pretty huge for constructed (not to say they arent amazing in sealed but they arent neccessary), but you like many think with constructed mind instead of sealed, blackwing with no high end and only low rarity cards is like pend 5 a""holes with piercing and potential syncho plays and almost otk your opponent, thats good enough, especially for the 1st episode, and when you add SOME high end, its pretty nuts, so I respectfully disagree with notion that they are high roller pack, atleast when it comes to sealed formats

57:26 Mordschlag is a real sword-fighting technique btw. It literally means murder blow in German. It is a half-swording technique where you essentially turn the sword into a war pick by hitting with the crossguard in order to deal damage to an enemy in armor since swords are basically useless against good plate armor worn by a competent fighter.

I'd probably have ruled it "No duplicate packs between banlists". It still gives an opportunity to go back in for cards you might have missed, but it prevents people being stuck on packs for tge entire season, and if it's too powerful then key cards can be banned before they double dip
That said, I do still respect the no duplicates at all rule, it simplifies things a lot

Love the Loser’s Wheel idea. Helps give the loser a comeback mechanic of sorts without incentivizing people to lose since it’s completely random.
I’m sure people will complain about this too 😂
I think the ban system must change, too.
With no legacy bans, some very powerful cards are available. But with how the system is implemented, you can't ban a powerful staple and powerful decks.
I think a number of bans based on performances is best for each :
0-2 : You can ban 2 cards (1 from each other player)
1-1 : You can ban 1 card (from either player)
2-0 : You can ban 0 cards.
It resets each banlist, and that way, people with very powerful staples and deck will be contained.
It is definitely pretty much like the system worked in season 4 (I don't remember how it worked the seasons before).

Actually incredibly hyped that farfa went into that secret pack! Always been disappointed when people skip over it because of the high-rarity high end, even though the low end of the pack can still make a strong functional core in sealed
Can we have a add the structure decks from the shop as a loser wheel or maybe make it so you can get one per person on banlist episodes, (so there's atleast one for sure deck you can use (in case you pull awful on the banlist episode)
It's honestly very nice that you change the rules up every season Dzeeff, makes it much more interesting imo.
For anyone worried about a lack of legacy bans or pack bans, that is only at the start. Doug isn't committing to a no-banlist season here and will change things if there are too many complaints from viewers or metrics. Dattebayo!
Regarding new player luck, both Wizards and Konami manage to do it with PHYSICAL PACKS as you will observe if you spend time playing sealed at any LGS and it's even easier with digital packs.

Doug, you are my favorite Yugituber. I really admire your dedication to experimenting and tweaking to make your videos better and better, and to keep things fresh. There's always something new when I click a Dzeeff video. I'm really looking forward to this season of Master Saga, just like I looked forward to every season before. :)

This was a great start to the new season of Master Saga. Also it was fun to see Blackwing and Dragunity get used because they are two of my favourite archetypes, with Dragunity being the archetype that got me back into YuGiOh…thank you Gage and Farfa. Hope to see you two bring out the full potential of these two archetypes. Let’s Go Dragunity and Blackwing. It was also great to see my boys Zeus and Accesscode get freed to rain hell down on the battlefield. Great job Doug, Gage and Nadir and I’m looking forward to see how the rest of this season goes,
Man Gage really got screwed by the shuffler like in game 3 both dougs a Farfas decks looked way worse than against Gage.

I'm excited to see the legacy bans be unleashed, but if they do end up having to go away again, I wonder if a compromise is that pulling a legacy banned card should allow you to idk, disenchant it for actually usable dust, so if you get 3 banned cards you can craft a usable card of that rarity? IDK just spitballing ideas if unleashing accesscode and redoer on the world backfires.
what if you guys gave penalties for using the old banned cards or packs, like, if you use Zeus then the other 2 will choose together a N card that you have to uncraft(not banned, just uncrafted) at the end of the episode, then if he uses again, then choose a R and so on till SR/SSR cards(letting even Zeus itself, in this case, be uncrafted if he uses him for more than 4 weeks)
I think Doug’s mind is slipping a bit mordschlag was introduced in dark neostorm so not in battle pack 3

YES! My wednesdays are safed! But the change that you only are allowed to open SP max.2 times? I really don't like that. I mean Farfa played Mathmech regardless of pulls that often so it wouldn't change that much.
And it incentivises going for riskier decks which could be very entertaining.

To the guy named verd101 at 57:48 , its not half-swording. Its just mordshlag… theres a reason the card has this name. Btw half-swording is when you grip the blade with one hand at around half the sword.
Actually it is, mordschlag/mordhau is a kind of half-sword technique. The only difference between that and a normal half-sword technique, is the inverse hold and using two hands, instead of one for bludgeoning.
Gage the trick to learning Dragunity names is calling up Cyberknight. That man has learned more Dragunity names than anyone else in the TCG…ever

Cool rule to maybe implement in the future:
If you get a royal rare that unlocks a pack, you can get 5 packs of whatever set that RR is, even if you dont go into that pack as your main one

I feel like an additional rule I believe would help is where if you get multiple copies of the same card (EX: [Season 5, Ep 19] Gage getting multiple copies of High Wave King Caesar), you should be allowed to convert 3 of the same card to be 1 card of the same Rarity (EX: Converting 3 High Wave King Caesar into 1 Savant Coperincus)
