Since I first started listening to these guys years ago in my early 20s, I haven't seen a song that WASN'T an emotional banger. Every song hits home for people, and you guys never stop
Those lines "since I was young I've been thinking about death, stuck inside my mind with the what if I's" That hit way too close, my past has trapped me in place for decades. I know I need to get better, to be more, but as those self-help videos say it's...comforting in a way. Never have to try if you already know you'll fail. As others have said, thank you for what you do Citizen Soldier, you help far more than you know.
Ever sense i can rember my dreams where haunted by violence and death and lose of anyone i held close sometimes it was me sometimes my family or freinds and fuckit didn't bother me after a while and it made me reckless I made me not scared to die only scared to lose those id leave behind
(Ig this would be considered a vent? Either way, don’t have to read if you don’t want to obv) I’ve been thinking about something like that a lot in my own life lately. It’s just something I’ve noticed. Whenever I make a friend, soon enough it always goes from “I like this person” to “if this person sees me, they’ll want to have a conversation with me. Avoid them at all costs.” It’s kind of weird to finally consciously realize it. The real reason I don’t have many friends is just because… I don’t like talking to them. I don’t like talking to them because… I don’t know. Conversations are just difficult, I guess, haha. I’ve tried to think about why _that_ might be. The only reason I can really think of is since when I was younger, my father would try to manipulate me and my sister into thinking that my mother and everyone who sided with her were the “bad guys,” thus causing me to be more withdrawn in general for fear of giving important information to the “wrong side” before I could quite tell which side that was(my parents divorced btw and my mother has sole custody of me now), and according to my mother he also did other more guilt-trippy things that ended with me socially isolating myself. So in the end, the thing I did to try to protect myself and my future ended with me struggling to deal with people at all. If that even IS the cause. I don’t know man

Brought up memories, but also a realization of what I could have put on my family and friends. I feel absolutely terrible. I wasn't decisive enough to attempt and someone close to me did... and at his funeral I was like daaaamn they might cry for me too. I just thought they would be better off me and kinda still think so but that moment gave new perspective..
I'm sorry for your loss. I was just in the hospital yesterday due to extreme dehydration and blockage in the large intestine. I was so worried it was going to be my last day due to the intense pain I was feeling. Like I deal with severe chronic back pain daily, so it was quite the worry when I was hurting so bad. Pain isn't fun... Also, I had a couple of attempts myself back in my teen years. And it only hits me harder each year for how bad it would affect me family if I wasn't here. So again, I'm sorry for your loss and it's good you recognize how much it can hurt those around who pass on. I'm proud of you for making it this far. You've got this.

I've struggled with severe anxiety and selective mutism my whole life, which led to educational trauma because my teachers thought I was being defiant. I found you guys in 2023 in November or December and have been a fan ever since. I'm nearly 14, and have been through things no one should have to go through. My best friend (15) has struggled with an ED the past few months and I'm so worried about her. I'm working on helping and getting her help, and your music has been my comfort through it. It is also what has encouraged me to begin Intensive Outpatient. Youre music is what got me out of the place where inpatient was on the table
When I first listened to Citizen Soldier i was 13 and extremely depressed in and out of therapy and on suicide watch now I’m 16 I still struggle with depression and ptsd from various things but one of the few things that keeps me going is the music that y’all make so I don’t expect anyone to read this but Thank you Citizen Soldier

If we let them weigh us down, we only risk making more in the future. Live life to the fullest and embrace those around you. Don't regret never bonding with them, or missing out on amazing experiences that life has to offer

I have legitimately never heard a song from this band that hasn't HIT. This one ranks up there with some of my favorites of all time and I'm a minute in. Goodness you know how to write a hook.
Somehow, this makes me think if an old friend. She rarely ever expressed herself to me, but I could still tell how she was feeling.. Pushed me away until I finally decided to leave, but I'm somehow the one blaming myself for the sudden end in our 7+ year friendship.. I'm the one with regrets while she's off doing great things, probably not even giving me a second thought. Even after 8 or so months, I still wonder what it would've been like if I just shut my mouth and let her forget about me sooner.. What if I pushed her to the point of ghosting me? What if we never met.. would I have been happy? Even though I sometimes wonder, I know I wouldn't have the things I have now if I hadn't met her. I both envy her, and thank her. I still miss her.. I always listen to citizen soldier songs when I'm feeling down, and these songs are one of the things that help me get through my own emotions.

I'm the one with regrets while she's off doing great things, probably not even giving me a second thought.
Even after 8 or so months, I still wonder what it would've been like if I just shut my mouth and let her forget about me sooner..
What if I pushed her to the point of ghosting me?
What if we never met.. would I have been happy?
Even though I sometimes wonder, I know I wouldn't have the things I have now if I hadn't met her.
I both envy her, and thank her.
I still miss her..
I always listen to citizen soldier songs when I'm feeling down, and these songs are one of the things that help me get through my own emotions.
