I’d like to add the importance of making sincere and memorable connections/impacts in your classes/ECs so that you can ask for ROBUST LORs when the time comes. LORs have the potential to make or break an application. Play those cards right, my people.
Does volunteering in a hospital and interacting with patients count as clinical experience because you are interacting with patients? Also in these COVID time how can I get the clinical experience? ( I am going into my freshman year of undergrad rn and I just want to plan ahead)

Nope you’re fine. Try to get some variety with shadowing but for clinical experience that’s perfectly fine. I have 6 years of 911 EMS for my clinical experience and don’t plan on doing anything else clinical. Most applicants just have one experience like scribing anyway

When I asked them how to improve my application they told me that do well on Casper test. I want to improve my application and so well on casper test. How should I get help ? Please help me out!

Hello! I have an upward trend [2.6] 1st bachelors ....[3.1] 2nd bachelor's (all science) [3.5] master's in biotech (all science). Is that a good enough upward trend or should I take more undergrad science classes? I plan on applying this cycle, I have started my application already but I am beginning to doubt myself.
@volio238 I came to Mexico for med school, at UAG. I applied once in the states and didn't get in. I was told my GPA was too low so I didn't want to waste more time. The way AMCAS calculates grades made my GPA lower than it was reflected on my transcripts because they average the 2 grades if you retook a class.

Some of the classes I took were not considered science classes according to them so that also didn't look great either.
@Mark-iu1zc also master's classes are in a separate category so it doesn't increase your undergrad GPA. Those masters that claim to boost your GPA for med school are scams. Many counselors told me it looks more like extracurricular than it does academically. So it was a waste basically for me to do it. The only thing it kinda helps with is getting a lab job
if you REALLY wanna be a doctor and dot get accepted multiple times, just go to Caribbean and be the best you can. I know some Doctors who are neurologists through that avenue

Would you recommend applying early with GPA 3.5 and good MCAT or wait take more classes and try bringing the GPA to at least 3.6 ? Thank you
that small difference isn't going to make a huge difference in your application as long as there is a good upward trend!

Diversify your experiences whether it’s shadowing,jobs, or volunteer. Just looks better and gives you more to talk about on your interview day
