Her chest notes have improved marginally post NW, it's dark coloring makes it a bit complicated, it sounds too raw here and there, but boy when she delivers she really does.
@@caiolucas8257 The only problem with her chest voice is that it's a little unbalanced when she's trying to sound more contemporary, she tends to darken it a little too much, it isn't needed cause her voice is already naturally pretty dark making it sometimes sounds a little disconected and dry, this probably comes from maneirisms of her classical training, wich funny cause she's been doing the opposite with her head and mixed voice with a lighter placement nowadays. I love how deep she can sound in her chest voice btw, but only when necessary cause it can makes her tone a little unbalanced if overdone, with a more neutral placement she will be even more amazing. Floor wasn't just out there. Her time in After Forever, a very good, but dismantled band, and the newer ReVamp made her quite famous amongst the metal community. I do like her too, but she did start her own band and her solo project as well, so Tuomas is still the one who's handling Nightwish, Marco did leave and also Jukka.

The guy she has singing here(Kevin) is not match for Marco, but she has gotten some guys to sing with her that were on her level(Diego Valdez who sang Phantom of the Opera with her on the Act 1 DVD).

Her musicians are outstanding! amazing performance, she should keep this live band. Kevin did good considering how powerful Marco's voice is, his mic should have been louder. Magnificent how Tarja's vocals matured, I dare say this version pleases me more than the original. Well done!
Indeed! With Max's Cello and Kevin's more melodic voice, and of course Tarja's always superior vocals, this and the Summerbreeze 2009 performance are without a doubt the best ever rendition of this song. tuomas should be thanking Tarja for taking this song to new heights! I do agree however, that Kevin's mic should have been just a bit higher. I think the more melodic quality of his voice suits this song a bit better than the previous male vocalist. I think years of excessive alcohol consumption did the previous male vocalist no favors when it came to the quality of his voice in later years.
Such a mesmerizing performance. This also has to be one of my favorite stage outfits of hers. Simple and awesome at the same time. I was never a huge fan of those elaborate medieval gowns she was wearing back in the day. Just give her a black top and leather skirt and watch her go. :)

Interesting i often prefer her elaborate gowns when it comes to her outfits, but this is a cool look for her. My favorite from her is likely the long blue jacket from the Colors in the Dark tour, it doubled as a dress and looked very nice on her. She also had a rock chick look(leather jacket, leather pants) from her 2019 shows just before the In The Raw tour.

Feride Dogan I means it even better than it was with her former band. Of course her vocals are perfect as always, but certain other elements are better. For example Kevins more melodic voice seems to fit the song better, in my opinion, than Marcos did. Also Max's Cello improves the song here. As a result this is much better than the original. This isn't the only old song that performs better with her band than her old band did. Passion and the Opera which she performed during the warm up concerts is another example. In fact, I'd say in that case it's even more true. The passion and the Opera she performed there was much better than tuomas original version.

nw obviously has more 'likes' on facebook bcause it's a name has been going for over 19 years now, +It's a 'team of 8, 9 people so it's easy to like just one of the guys and not the music at all. Have u seen the guys personal facebook pages?tuomas is the one who has more 'likes' around 38,000. Juka over 15,000 and marco 21,000. The ironic part is tht tarja is the MOST SUCCESABLE SOLO METAL ARTIST (from both fem. and males) on facebook with more than half mil. Thts pretty good if you ask me.
@fantasywandres I saw her in 2008, 2009 and 2011 and I could see her changing her attitudes on stage. in 2008 she had a metal presence, she used to make headbanging and all that stuff. But in 2011 she kept on jumping on stage and that´s not the attitude that suits her best... I think that in End... she moved exactly as it was needed; she acted like a perfect leader (in From Wishes... she was more distant from the public), that was her best moment, althought I love her ALWAYS!!! She´s the best!
I haven't checked the 2008 and 2009 shows, but i loved her attitude from Woodtock 2016, it looks very good and entertaining. In End of an Era she was in top physical form, but she build more stamina on her solo carreer i think.

Nevertheless, it's clear that there is some resentfulness towards Nightwish and their entourage, plus she was fired over five years ago now, thus keeping covering these songs after all this time is just ridiculous.
@Kuutamo28 The band was Tuomas´ imagination and Tarja´s virtuosism. Try to listen to Anette versions of the songs made originally by Tarja and you´ll see that Nightwish now is powerless. Compositions may be great (as The poet and the pendulum), but sung by Anette they are common songs, not as specials as were in Tarja´s era (as The poet and the pendulum, again. It will necer reach the quality of Ghost Love Score, or even Beauty and the beast or Lappi...)

She's improved so much. The notes are much more solid with way better vibrato. And more importantly, she's having fun.
