Awesome footage mate. Just a small request if I may. Are you able to point that forward camera up a little further down the road as we're only really seeing the end of the bonnet. Be great to see the eye line of the road. Cheers. Great explanation of the gearing on climbs and descents.
Ha ha. Yes Darren that was a big mistake I didn't realise until I pulled the footage down. I was nearly going to cancel this whole video because the dashcam footage was so bad.
@@RoadTrainAdventures All good mate. I'm just grateful that you pump out the content given the workload you have on. Thanks for sharing your trips with us. Really great to watch
Thanks, Johnno. Another great 👍 video. One thing about ye Aussie's. When ya say oversized, ya mean OVERSIZED. You have a beautiful country and I miss the roads over there. Take us up Mount Victoria one day with you Johnno, it is quire a climb especially the second bit after the convict bridge. No road trains on that road. Jeff
Great footage there, thank you. Not knowing the road at all at one point before Toodyay (spelling?) I spotted some trucks parked up in a yard alongside the highway. Sure I've seen them before - sure enough Toodyay and Koorda Bortja's vids.
I've seen you guys at OLEX quite a bit, I load out of there sometimes too. It gets a bit chaotic at the gatehouse when one truck is leaving and another is arriving though.
Nice strap job to. I liked that, driving in the mountains, without the f.... snow, and ice, yusing ower drivers technics. KW's water temperatuur stays nice in this hot outside temp. around 110degree hill up. Let the pony's do there job.Let Cummins roar,💪
Good day Johnno, It is amazing your popularity is growing over 100 comments congratulations well done. Love to see you go down the Adelaide Hills in a double road train configuration. Not sure if they allow double road trains down the Adelaide Hills. I noticed no fog lines on the highways in W.A not good, either that or it doesn't get foggy out there. Which route do you take from Deni to Port Augusta it is beautiful country the Mid North of S.A. Those Kenworth Horton Fans kick in at the first moment of uphill running & so so loud, no European Prime Mover there. How did you go with the A/C, maybe time for a Ice Pack yourself. Great video thoroughly enjoyed it. Safe driving Cheers Louis ☺☝
Going down the Adelaide Hills would be ready with any combination. The air con got fixed so that should be fine from now on. I'll be starting another video today so I'll get better footage going from Perth to Sydney.
That was great. Funny how the camera makes the bonnet look like its slowly nodding :). Perhaps you can point the bonnet cam up a little so we can see the scenery too?
Good video. All of the how-to vids getting around today are very interesting. When going down a full gear on a steep climb do you firstly drop the button to the low position, then work your way down, or leave the button in the up position and work your way down? Or, is it a case of wherever the button is, leave it there and go down full gears? I know there would be no hard-and-fast rule about this as each driver would work from their own experience, but which is the best way you have found to do this?
I'm enjoying your videos, thanks. Just wondering whether you can tilt your camera up so as we can see more of where you are going rather than looking at the bonnet of the truck.
G'day mate, I really enjoy your videos and I love travelling through the outback. I have a genuine question for you... I tow a smallish offroad caravan (2.3t fully loaded) with my 34 year old 60 series Landcruiser with a 100hp extremely slow but torquey turbo diesel engine. If you see me (or any other caravan) on the road, I may not be driving as fast as you. In order to make things as easy as possible for you to pass me, what do I need to do? Slow down? Indicate? Get on the radio?
Yes using the radio is best. Call us up by saying, 'copy in the truck behind the, and name your caravan make'. Them you can organise when to have us come around.
Hello sir, I loved your video. Please consider mounting the camera at a different angle for example driver's point of view or maybe a bit higher than it is right now so we can see the outside and the guages better. Just a suggestion don't mean to discourage you. Take care.
Hi johnno Just wondering have you experienced any bad drivers on your journeys? I have experienced a bad driver up north in WA and it took me a few weeks to drive again. Ps very amazing videos too
Maybe one been lucky but I haven't been run off the road next. The only bad drivers I've come across are ones that come off the road unnecessarily and spray you with rocks.
I never knew which I was most worried about. Getting stuck going uphill. Or it taking off going down. Either way big hills and heavy loads not a good mix. Imagine doing it on ice like the ice road truckers. I'd be stocking up on spare undies.
Yeah that was a big mistake which I only found out when I downloaded the footage. I'm making another video that will start from Perth and go all the way to Sydney so I'll get better footage for the next video. Stay tuned.
Because then I can take the whole road train in as one rather than go down Great Eastern. It's actually 60km less driving dragging them in down Great Northern.

Hey Johnno are you still allowed to tow three trailers across the Nullarbor
Others can who are going up to Darwin from WA.
So are your driving rules the same as the USA's like turning left on a red light, like us turning right on a red light
No. We have to wait for green lights.
We owned T410SAR..this truck needs new engine or we like to rebuilt. Can we install 610 engine n this xL body truck…..
I'm not sure if they will fit. Unfortunately that's not something I've heard of.

What road do you turn onto and where do you come out to
Link up with great northern from great eastern?
I turn from Great Eastern at Southern Cross and come out from the road from Calingiri
