I have an idea IF YOU CAN DO IT CHIEF MAKOi. Its about combining the vedio with a map. That will be nice so I don't have to look at the map while I'm enjoying the ride.
Istanbul, the Dardanelles, the Aegean Sea, Xerces 1st.....! Not only informative but educational to the extent that I was transported back to a particular high school history class. Nicely done.
Hi, chief!!! You passed from the old world to the new world... From the West to the byzantines gate..!!! What a great history.. 29.05.1453....fall of the Great Byzant... And The rise of new one :turkish power...!!! I don't know if got the time to see the beauties of Istanbul (Constantinopol), but i can say is a must to visit... Safety first, chief!!! By the way... Constantza, Romania (my beautiful country) is a port also in the Black Sea!!! Once again, Safety First, Chief!!!
I just found out this channel, and this is what you call content. The way you narrate all throughout the video, feels like I'm watching a documentary and tour. You got a sub chief!
I understand why you like it during night as it looks like traveling through a warp hole with all those Istanbul's lights and colorful bridges, just mesmerizing!! Thank you very much for this amazing video👍👍
A big salute Chief Makoi, I haved learned a lot of things about Marine Engineering thru your content and what is realy life when working in the ship in everyday bases. More power and content Chief, ingat po kayo, God bless po.🙌..
The Turkish landmark you pointed out is also visited every year by 100`s of Australians on the 25th of April celebrating Anzac Day for the Australian soldiers lost in the battle at Gallipoli.
Anzac Day is not a celebration it's a Remembrance Day to commemorate sacrifices made by Australian and New Zealand soldiers also a lot of New Zealanders go to Gallipoli every year also
Appreciated the relevant geography and history where your ship is travelling. Those coasts have been important trade routes since the days that nobody sailed out of sight of the shore for fear of falling off the edge of the world.
I just finished my 2nd year pre-med course. I quit as soon as I realized I don't wanna be a doctor anymore, and took a gap year bcoz of the pandemic. Now I'm determined to join a Maritime University next year! God Bless to all Filipino seafarers and to aspiring ones!
Chief Makoi it will be nice to upload a video while sailing through Greek islands, they are the leaders in Shipping industry and also the pioneers !!!!!!!
The Bosporus is a awesome place. Some of the waterfront mansions architecture is identical to the Victorian architecture here in Cape May where I'm from. I forget the whole story but the there was a love of the style and it was recreated there and they did a amazing job. On top of that there's an amazing palace and much more.
Hi Chief, I'm marine engineering student and youtuber from Çanakkale, watched all your videos, hope see you at any ports or ships, greetings from Canakkale
As a landlubber I enjoyed this video very much. Do the pilots actually navigate and steer the ship when they board, or do they just oversee? If the ship collided with something when the pilot was in charge who would be liable?
Thats the tricky question. On paper the pilot oversees and advices. In real life the pilot manu times directly or semi directly handles the vessel by giving helm/engines orders. The liability is differently arranged per country.
Your content and presentation is great as always Chief! But even more impressive is your camera and production work. Can really see the effort you put in, this is professional quality stuff IMHO. Massive respect for all you do
Yes that's very beautiful. I enjoy Ottoman history. What a historic place! I bet you can see topkapi palace during the day. The pilots that are sent to your ship, how does that work?
Love all your videos and great to have you back. Just an FYI. Tried to support you with a new account with FBS but no luck. The cannot accept accounts from the US. Please keep sending us these fantastic videos!
That's because U.S. citizens are discouraged by the IRS code from investing in certain types of overseas accounts, as I just discovered to my detriment.
Hi Chıef Makoi When you enter from Black sea First Bridge ar Europuan side İt s my home town Call Sarıyer know best fish restaurant Beautiful place the leave Thanks again Happy and healty sailing Greetıng From Turkey Take care
Hello chief! Please tell me, how often is it happening when a cargoship of your caliber is in a sharp storm situation and is heav too or /dreja bee on Swedish and all the officer's is on the bridge the whole night? Beutyfull nigth video! Barbro Sweden
Even during rough seas, watchkeeping is still implemented so everyone can still rest. Only during emergencies like fire and other life-threatening incidents will there be a need for everyone to be up.
@@ChiefMAKOi Thank you for answering! Then was the winther orcan 1975 at new year, at the North sea betwen Norway and Antwerpen a really tuff one! And yes the harbour's in the other european contrys on the west side was not to beutyfull and functionable either! Barbro Sweden
being a software developer i have nothing to do with shipping etc but am so addicted to your videos...your video making style is so awsome..i feel very calm while watching it..keep up the good work..my best wishes to you and your family
For most ships it is not required, however, if you come from a port inside Marmara sea it is required to take a pilot. So lets say you come from any port as long as outside the Marmara sea and going to the Black sea you can do it without a pilot. Dardanelles strait and Bosporus strait are not that difficult to navigate.
Just out of curious, how do you make sure the cargo hold is properly sealed? Since bulk carrier carries a variety of cargo, I wonder if there is any standard for sealing cargo hold for different goods?
I have the ships bell from the BP Tanker " British Tamar" in my garden. Can you film the bell from your Tanker please and give a shout out to Matt, Esme, Holly, Jake.. from England. many thanks..... I will add a short film of my bell to utube soon.

Hello Chief! Are you required to take the pilots, or is it just good practice in unfamiliar areas? Thanks!
It's required.
