Beef Mechado, SIMPOL!

Serves 7 to 8.
INGREDIENTS:
Set A:
1 1/2 kilograms beef cubes (brisket)
1/2 cup soy sauce
¼ cup calamansi juice
Set B:
4 tablespoons palm oil or annatto oil
1 head garlic, crushed
2 pieces large onions, chopped
1 small carrot, cubed
2 cups very ripe tomatoes, diced
4 tablespoons brown sugar
Set C
1 tablespoon dried oregano
4 pieces laurel leaves
2 tablespoons sweet paprika powder
4 pieces red bell peppers, cut into strips
1 pouch (200 gram) Filipino style tomato sauce
1 teaspoon cracked black pepper
4 tablespoons vinegar
2 cups water or beef stock
Salt, to taste

Chef pag my tira ka nyan himayin mo. Maglagay ka ng mashed potato sa tray. Ipaibabaw mo yang beef mechado tapos lagyan mo ng grated cheese on top. Put in the oven. Paborito ng mga European yan. Ewan ko nakalimutan ko name. Yan ang ginagawa ko sa barko. Gusto nila. Parang shepherd's pie.
Iba talaga ang lasa ng fresh tomato sa pag gisa kaysa sa tomato sauce.

Ganyan ang kaldereta ko minus the tomatoes, oregano and bay leaf. At nilalagyan ko ng Sprite at worcestershire sauce.

Oo, kaya nilalagyan din ng paprika yung mga nabibili mong mga ready-made menudo/kaldereta/etc. mix (gaya ng Mama Sita).

Sir bat walang measurement sa ingredients kung ilang cups o kutsara ung gagamitin na sangkap mahirap kasi tumantsa kung baguhan palang 🤣🤣🤣

Mama ko, nilalagyan yan nya ng sandamakmak na sibuyas Tagalog. Yun ang secret nya.. Tapos slow cooking.
Parang too much sweet na yan, kasi nilagyan mo ng sugar, eh matamis na rin yung Pilipino style tomato sauce. Old style kasi method ko ng cooking, hindi naman uso noon ang sweet na mga ulam.

Simple na simple ang luto mo..oks na oks. Natuto ako sa Inay ko niyan. Dami niya procedures. Kaya mechado eh mimitsahan ng baboy tas equal dami ng sibuyas, bawang at kamatis. Marinate 6hrs not less. Tas eh kailangan daw kinakagat yung dila mo ang timpla ng toyo at kalamansi..😂😂😂 tas unti unti lang pakulo sa pagpapalambot..hayssst. pero sau Chef ay so simple. Ginawa ko din ok. Pero iba yung sa Nanay ko...
