    Your garden brings back memories of my childhood. We had a half an acre garden in upstate NY a little colder than your 6B zone.
    my mom canned 100 jars of tomato sauce every year. We are Italians after all. I was the one who maintained the garden during the spring and summer. It was very good exercise and rewarding. When I left the homestead my family quit gardening on that scale. I was the only boy with three sisters.

    You could plant a whole bunch of flowers around the area to attract bees and start beekeeping. Free honey and polination!

      Indeed, bees are in the plan eventually. Hopefully sooner rather than later :)

    I just recently found your channel, and resonated with one of your videos where you talked about being sick and struggling with depression and anxiety. I’m in the same place and ready to start growing my own food. I know it’s too late in the year to start anything this year, but I’m hoping next year I can do a small backyard garden! Do you have a good resource for complete beginners??💛💛
    Oh! And when I saw you in a BYUI shirt I got real excited. That’s where I’m graduating from in a few weeks.

    Thanks for the video. Central KY has had so much rain, our garden looks like it has green carpet. Going to take forever to hoe out. God Bless, stay safe.

    Pleeeease do a video about how you got your carrots to grow. We have tried and tried, and I'm this close to giving up. I'm having a ton of success with beets...but every time I plant carrots they fizzle. (Congrats on your new place!!!)

    You and your family have an amazing garden. Pitching your tent in the barn is absolute brilliance. Well done
    I've planted out my (almost) annual vegetable garden on our balcony. Mixed greens, 3 types of cherry tomato, peas, beans, snow peas, squash, cucumber (although they died off in the latest cold snap), edible flowers, zucchini, potted herbs and radishes. With any luck the bees and bumbles and the dragonflies will come back - last year I just couldn't.

    curious if you get army worms inside the zinnia flowers and stems and if they jump to any of your crop. Problem here is South Florida. I miss being able to garden up north!

    How do you save seed from cilantro?

    • @TheSeasonalHomestead
      @TheSeasonalHomestead  3 года назад +1

      Let it grow big and it will form visible seeds (coriander) from there I just pull the plant and shake the seeds into a bowl.
