Our club has like a dozen aquarium terrains for years now. Mostly because one of our member's mom has a pet supply shop.
Wow! That is perfect with the mom connection to the pet supply shop! I could imagine that the shop has some damaged product that can’t be sold, but that a Wargamer could fix up beautifully! 😊⚔️🛡️🔥
Looks great. I often rummage around goodwill for terrain items.
Awesome! There is always good stuff out there if you have an eye for it! Happy hunting! 😊👍
Aquarium terrain isn't amazingly cheap new, but unlike wargaming stuff people pretty much or literally give it away seconds hand.
I've literally picked some up from the curb side. The same goes for garden ornaments, like fairy cottages and tiny statues (that become huge at wargaming scales)
Exactly! It is all about seeing the treasure in what others see as trash!
The only way I can get my SO to play is to put together essentially a smurf village with the Dollar Store and value village fairy cottage sets I've thrown together to play 40k. I love it because I get to see a bloodthirster lock swords with a DE on top of a Buttercup or Tyranids crashing into Orks in front of a village that looks like cupcakes.
@@Shackapalooza2010 EPIC! The clash of two entirely different worlds! There could be some amazing lore behind this!! 😂
I think about this whenever I buy mealworms for my jumping spider.
Awesome! 😊
Very nice
😊👍 Thanks so much!!
@@GrayArmyGaming Now I have to keep my brain in check when I'm at a pet store, thrift store, garage sales looking for terrain pieces 😅
lol I almost got that steel dragon from hobby lobby today. It looks a little doofy but its a fun classic cartoony design. 3:17
Awesome! How much does it cost at Hobby Lobby? Could be worth picking up. I found this one at the local thrift store for a couple of dollars. 😊👍
@@GrayArmyGaming It was 7 dollars I think. They had a fair selection of animals around the quality of the dragon and the smaller ones are cheaper. They lack some detail of expensive miniatures obviously but they were all solid plastic so definitely way more durable than normal bargain bin miniatures/toys.
@@totallynotsmokeythebear7017 Not too bad! I picked mine up for about $3, which I thought was a pretty decent find. I might try to make a decorative base for it and do some more drybrushing and washes along with some detail work. We will see. It also works pretty well as is. 👍🐉
Everyone game store had at least one of the parthenon pillar ruins aquarium piece in the terrain sets. The one where the pillars were too close to another to fit any model bases through.
That is hilarious! 😊👍
This is so true i did this the other day and it was great!
Sweet! Was it also rock terrain that you used?
@@GrayArmyGaming yes it was alien reef rock style terrain perfect for my game of star wars miniatures :3
@@JKk-dd6ng Awesome! I will have to keep an eye out for stuff like that-I am always looking for more sci-fi style terrain! 😊👍
Oh no, the secret is out! You're right though; aquariums just do great stuff for war gamers.
😂😂😂 I wasn’t sure if I should share the secret or not!! But now it is out there!!
