  • I went to Yogyakarta or Jogja in Indonesia last month in March 2023. Stayed at Novotel Suite Malioboro next to the lively Malioboro Street popular with locals for the first 2 nights. The subsequent 5 nights we stayed at Yogyakarta Marriott Hotel. Tried the electric trishaw called "becak motor". Ate "gudeg" which is a local Jogja food, made from unripe jackfruit slowly stewed with palm sugar and coconut milk. Visited the largest Hindu temples site called Prambanan, built in the 9th century, a UNESCO world heritage site. Feel free to leave me a comment if you want to know more of this trip.

🤣 That sounded dubious, 'I'll follow these women' you might get into trouble Victor😅 But did make me laugh as when I was in Nepal I remember also thinking I'll follow these Nepali girls as they will know the best place to eat and I can speak enough Nepali to explain it was for culinary reasons😆 But it is true, you follow the locals and then you get the best results. What little Ive seen in that area of the world is we can follow a group then eat there and no one is watching you or thinks your up to no good like they mostly might do here 🙄 Your just left to enjoy the place your in, also like in Nepal the temples in SEA are amazing so much detail. The food looked amazing again and the last shots looked similar to the English countryside when its summer. Bright green plants, the blue sky a nice view and the dark grey clouds ready to rain 😉😊
I just need to hope Marions cook books will be available in the UK soon as Mama Noi has released a book too and you cant beat Thai cooking 😋

Marion just did a food trip to Singapore. Have you seen those videos? Some Singaporeans were questioning why her shows featured mostly Chinese food, and not other ethnicity local foods. Singapore like Malaysia is multi cultural, colorful and rich in different flavours.

@@foodtripwithvictor Only seen one so far which did seem mostly Chinese, but unless anyone said anything I wouldn't know as I literally know nothing about Singapore, yet. 😊
