Try getting a food bowl for him. Eating out of the can will possibly harm his tongue being how sharp the edges are. Not to mention it really isn’t sanitary.

Star, cats don't need to be washed with soap in a shower. They're natural groomers. I don't think you should make it a regular thing - a one off if he's filthy and covered in mud or dirt is fine. He's a lovely little cat though and reminds me exactly of my cat Loki in looks and calmness - only difference is that Loki constantly talks to me.
Frequent bathing dries their skin out
Teaching him to accept bathing is smart. This is the problem with cats, people do not teach them or get them used to anything. Bet she ends up with a calm balanced cat.
@@tigertalks1567 my cat loves water, it’s good to teach them young bathing is fine , but definitely use cat shampoo and they are self groomers so I wouldn’t bathe him too much.

Please stir his food in the can before you feed him. It's packed in there and hard for him to get a bite. That's why he continues to lick and lick at it.

Sometimes we can't mix the bowl because we are dumb or maybe we have broken fingers?
If hes not drinking plain water a lot, try mixing some in to his wet food so hes getting more fluid ♡

Cats do not naturally drink a lot of water unless it's hot or they have a heart condition or fed dry food. And if Star isn't feeding him dry food, he should be fine for a drink once a day.
@@xoselhket if cats dont get enough fluid during the day they start to develop crystals. Respectfully, I disagree that they are okay to only drink once a day. I'm not saying drown his food in water, but each feeding a tablespoon or two of added water wouldnt hurt at all

I have a cascading drinking fountain for my cats. Cats are attracted to sound and light reflection, and it greatly encourages hydration. Of course, I don't know how you could pull that off in a car, lol.
block any nooks & crannies he can get into, lots of vehicles have space up under the dash that leads to the mechanics of the car :( like get down where your feet go & look underneath
One suggestion-maybe get him a harness and leash that has a retractable extension so if he ever gets lose you don’t lose him ♥️

If she’s taking him outside he shouldn’t have a leash… could get caught on a tree branch or something

Also! Be careful with feeding from the can, it can cut them. They also have PORTABLE / fold up/ washable litter “ box” for people who travel with cats, it’s on amazon
Hi Star, it is so important for cats to drink water but cats aren’t much water drinkers. They are prone to a certain disease if they don’t get water. In the wild cats get their water from their kill. I noticed my cat not drinking water so my vet told me to add water to his wet food and the entire bowl is emptied every time. I leave water out for him of course, but this way you’re sure Ambrose stays healthy.
Get him a talk button so he can tell you when he want to use the sand box and drink water hahahah
I love him!!! By the way Star, cats can get something called “whisker fatigue” when their whiskers brush against the edge of things and it’s not good for them (also why if food is in a bowl they leave it at the edges). I suggest you get him a plate to eat off ☺️ he’s incredible!!! 🥰🥰🥰

A microchip is better! I once found a little cat hanging by its collar in a hedge and she almost didn't survive it!

Dear Star, I agree with what others have advised. Keep him tied up or placed in a carrier while you're driving. Not good to allow him to jump around or even jump onto the dashboard to block your view whilst driving. It's all fun & games until something serious goes wrong. Safety first. Always remember. Safe travels with your new buddy. 🌹🌻🐱

Line the bottom of his potty box with a peepee pad. It’ll allow you to keep less litter in at a time but also keep the bottom fresher so it doesn’t get all yucky. Just lay it down and add the litter over it

WHEN THE CAR IS MOVING KEEP HIM IN A CARRIER. If you were to get into an accident he would go flying into the windshield and suffer serious injuries or die. PLEASE RESPECT HIS LIFE AS MUCH AS YOUR OWN.

@@mommyof3_908 most cats yes, but not all cats hate water. My daughter's 2 cats are fascinated with water, they dunk their head in it, drink it, try to get in her bath, play with it, they just love it. I've seen some cats enjoy swimming too. All depends on the cat really.

I used watch one of my cats in the burn trying to catch fish! She didnt mind water at all! She actually managed to drag a huge salmon all the way up from the burn and tried to bring it in to her kittens 😊 we had her for 17 years! She is missed very much x

Groomer vet tech here!! Congrats on your super special new baby! He truly is a match made in heaven, he's amazing !! There's super awesome travel tools for pets to help you and your fur baby along the way. Back packs with a bubble, stationary water bowls and also brushing a cat with a sticker brush helps to naturally exfoliate as well as circulate natural oils to maintain his skin and coat natural and perfect!! Also pretty paws is pricey but amazing litter, it also reads the urine to check for unbalanced urine pH! Male cats are prone to urinary issues, it's also the best for smell literally BEST! SOMEHOW he needs more free choice to use his box! You will get a routine your great at that!! I have three cats and all I wanted was one of them to be an adventure kitty, but nope :( they are all terrified...hahaha ugh you have a perfect match! Also baby wipes, the natural water ones are good for grooming outer topical dirt, paws ect...but don't bathe a cat unless it's truly necessary, it can cause more issues than good!!! We lived on a tiny island the past 3 years. We rescued a teeny tiny kitty. She was maybe 4 weeks old. We trained her to come everywhere with us since we were so afraid to leave her alone. She loved to hop up on our shoulders and sit there when we were driving. We took her on the canoe through the mangroves, on the boat fishing and to the beach. She was so beautiful. All white with bright blue eyes. We named her Luna. We had to find her a good new mommy cause we had to come back to CA and because of Covid, we weren’t able to bring her back with us. Kitties are so awesome!
@@dashatankov2940 because of Covid, the only airline flying out of the country wasnt allowing cats to be brought on as carry ons and if I checked her as "luggage" she would have needed to be quarantined for 4 months on Guam and then quarantined again in Hawaii for another 3 or 4 months after that before being able to be brought into CA. That would have been too much stress on a 4 month old kitten.
Lmao periodically I have to take showers with my shih tzu our landlord wont fix our tub so that's the only way its convenient for me to take my dog a bath glad I'm not the only one out there 😂

You don't just stuff a cat in a backpack, think of how suffocating that is for him. Also, he needs to be on a seatbelt harness while driving, he will go straight through the windshield if you break hard or get in an accident. Please start thinking about others more than yourself for once.

Youre seriously asking for trouble with the way youre playing with that Cat. You need to get him toys to play with. (fishing pole toys, Catnip Kickers etc) It wont be so fun when hes a grown cat and starts attacking you cause you let him do it as a kitten. I highly recommend finding another way to engage in play. Im not just blowing smoke out my rear Im speaking from experience.
dont forget to have him fixed. Im more of a dog type so I may not be right, but you certainly dont want him spraying your car. Lawd, that would be a mess!
lol that smell is not fun.. the animal shelter normally does it though. the one i was volunteering at also did “catch and release” - they would catch feral strays, fix them and return them back to the area they found them. they do this to control the cat overpopulation in some areas and since feral cats do not thrive in domestic life with humans, they are not kept for adoption.
You should get those wet cat foods that come in bulk so you don’t have to buy one everyday or just get a big bag of dry food

The cat is amazing and lucky, I am taking care of stray cats by bringing them food and I know for sure that your cat does have a beautiful life with you. Some cats sit at home other cats live a more adventurous life, as long as they are loved and taken care of they are all happy.

I have a cat and i take her out on her harness.. She loves it but she is an indoor cat. She's 17 years old now. She's still doing well. She's changing some with her routine. Ever since i got her as a kitten from my friend. I've always gave her a bath only up to her neck. Not her head or ears. She loves it i brush her teeth cat tooth paste. She has her nails. But i do have to trim them . She's never ruined my furniture. She has her scratching post stand her toys.
But yes she's my baby she's smart beautiful caring she knows when im sick she's right by my side. I talk to her ever since she was a kitten till now. She understands me. And she talks to me.... I believe she understands me. It's just wonderful to have her in my life! She's very spoiled she loves traveling. She's white with some grey on her fur. Blue eyes. Her name is precious. They have some awesome cat backpacks that are breathable and they can see out of. It’s super cute!
it might be better to train him to go outside, this way you don't have to pack that tub around. Plus you might want to teach him how to ride on your shoulder so that if anything bad happens, like he gets scared or sees a dog, he knows his spot.
My dad rescued our first cat from his construction site and she use to ride around on his shoulders automatically as a kitten.
I think she just felt comfortable and protect up high and kinda behind him.

Lil man is such a bad ass! My baby girl is a long haired black kitten and when we first started van living I took her to lakes in Arizona and we would just walk around and go on hikes with her and she would follow, sometimes she liked to go in her back pack but for the most part she loves to explore.

I know you don't listen to us, but I am seriously hoping you can settle into a home somewhere. It's fine to want to travel (when you're still young, especially), but if you put your life at risk and now put this precious little-boy cat's life at risk, by insisting on being a traveler-gal, thinking it's some sort of Bohemian paradise, I think you are kidding yourself. Ambrose seems to be a loving chill cat, so he is down to whatever you do - but he is like a baby, and you should do right by him, as the adult, as the cat-Mom. Why are you afraid to just have a modest home somewhere, even a room in someone's house, make it your own, and when you want to do road trips, a friend or your Mom can take care of Ambrose.
Car-camping, van-life, camp-eating is a lucrative trend on YT. Also, she probably has to make a certain amount of videos for that portable battery she got.

I think that taking cats out with you is a GREAT idea. If people put themselves in the place of cats, imagine living in a small space and NEVER leaving. Never touching the actual ground. He’s a kitten , he’s gonna need space to run around in not on a leash so I’m curious on how thats gonna be able to work . Also when he has to use the litter when your keeping a top on it. She's not living in her car anymore. She was just camping for a night or two. She's living at her mom's place in a camper in the yard. There's no way she could actually live in her car with a cat 24/7. It wouldn't work for a dog either.
