I worked for a Doctor whom I respected so much! He would always tell me “Choose your battles”. I have followed that ever since. I stop and think…Karen, is this circumstance worth the battle. It has been a life saver and prevented a lot of heartache!!

You can’t carry other people’s problems. We all have bad days. If someone is rude to me in a store, my first thought is something is going on in their life, and it it roll off me. If I take it home then it becomes my problem.

Over the past year and a half I've felt so powerless and at the same time was diagnosed with health issues making things worse. I felt so defeated and depressed, but I'm now starting to reclaim my power. I know the things to do to make myself feel better every day and although it may take me a while to feel like I did in 2019, you have to make a start! My son and I had a text argument over something stupid back in June, and we haven’t spoken since. He said something to hurt my feelings and I remember thinking how disrespectful. But, after listening to this video I decided to send him a message today. Just said he’s been on my mind and that I loved him, and always will. He hasn’t responded yet, but, I’m hoping he does. What you said about consequences is what hit home with me. I cry a lot lately because of a stupid text fight which has led to not speaking for over 3 months. I want to choose peace also. I have a tendency to react and tear up cards and stupid things that have HUGE consequences. This has really got me thinking. Thank you.

Wow. That is a ton of work on your part. Husband have no idea the background reflection we do to keep a marriage together. Meanwhile they say stuff with no filter or thought of consequence that we have to finesse to continue a workable marriage. Also, when I try to talk he doesn’t listen, hear me or care. Is like I don’t count as much as he does. After 20 years of it I’m exhausted. I don’t know how much longer I can keep it up. I was a strong, independent woman in my 30’s when we met. Now I don’t know what I am.

Leave the jerk and find yourself. You should be a priority in your life. You deserve better, to be heard, to be seen, to be taken seriously. One of the things that irks me is when people, particularly men that I don’t even know nor have met personally from social media would insert themselves giving me backhanded snide comments. They act as if I’m their wife or girlfriend and they just throw their insecurities and projections. I don’t tolerate that. Treat people how you want to be treated has been my go to motto. I don’t give anyone permission to treat me less than kind and I remove them out of the equation. The best advice I got from a secret service I know said to me “ Don’t follow them into their chaos” just own your power and retain your peace and surround myself with people who get me and value me. Respect is so important to me.

Great video with so much wisdom. Using kindness instead of anger usually gets a better response and most times that's exactly what the other party needs. It's hard sometimes to not just react with anger, but boy does it disarm someone when you are genuinely kind from the heart. I believe this is how we can be Disciples.

I often say, “it’s no one’s business what I’m thinking”. Meaning, just because it’s my thoughts or feelings doesn’t mean I have to say it. My mother always said, “be kind to everyone. You never know what they go home to”. I’m Very quick witted and could cut anyone with my words. I CHOOSE not to. It’s not always easy! Sometimes I cry for what i have said. I have never cried for what I didn’t say.

When you feel upset, always look at a person’s good qualities and lovingly point it out to them that you know their beautiful qualities. This was a wonderful video Lisa! I have found that when we have love and compassion for ourselves its second nature to give it to others. I consciously choose to respond and not react. It doesnt mean I get it right all the time it means my awareness allows that alignment with my higher power. We are always growing, learning and evolving. This was your most relateable video for me. Each day I say: I am love and my love creates harmony and blessings. I was inspired to leave a comment as I felt more of a connection. Btw....I havent watched TV in over 15 years. • @susanne323

I agree with you 100% Lisa! This is a lesson that I’ve had to learn over the years, and it’s true that your power is not in your response but it’s within yourself. I have much to be grateful for, but I really had a rough life. After years of being neglected, taken advantage of, emotionally abused and terribly hurt - I learned to cope by defending myself and fighting back. However, I should’ve learned to set boundaries and walk away from toxic people. Eventually I did learn that and I have found my inner peace. I’m rebuilding some relationships and starting over in others. I think this peaceful approach is contagious because I’ve noticed as I change my response to people, those people are starting to change and approach me with more kindness. I guess you can say you reap what you sow. When you put out peace and joy people feel it and most times reciprocate the same way. I truly believe that most people really want to be kind and truly want to let go of their baggage. Beautiful message today Lisa, thank you. ~Susanne 😘💕🌈🌸🦋🍒🎀

Very good advice! This may not work with some difficult people but with fairly reasonable people I think it’s great!! Sometimes with that one person nothing works unfortunately. I absolutely hate conflict.

If I’m starting to raise my voice that is a sign to me that I need to pause and take a breath. I don’t want anyone screaming at me, and I certainly don’t want to be screaming at anyone else. that field of work as well. Wherever I go I see and hear negativity. People that are negative and/or mean obviously have some personal issues in their lives. Like

Also think of a person's capacity. We're all beautiful souls with aptitude in certain areas. We might have strong areas that we over focus on. At the same time we don't understand other people's strong areas. I'm raising sons and this is what I notice causes conflict the most. What's relevant and important to me is the least of their worries. It makes me stand back and wonder about the significance of it all. I think what's important here is etiquette. Making another person comfortable. And sometimes in relationships this is the part that is lacking. Enjoy your day 🌹

I really really enjoyed this video. my job is at an answering service company and I cannot tell you how rude people can be to people trying to do their job and take a message for the company that they’re calling for. My job is to be efficient, take the message as quickly as I can and of course always be polite. There are moments that someone will be rude or yell at me for no reason at all and it sets me off and I have responded before I’ve even had a chance to realize that I shouldn’t have said what I said. This is something I’m currently working on is learning to control my reactions to somebody being rude to me and either not respond or kill them with kindness. It’s stopping my self before it’s already out of my mouth which is hard for me to be honest. But like you said, I don’t feel good afterwards, I worry about the possibility of what could happen with my job and it’s just not the person I want to be. Thank you so much for this video Lisa it’s giving me lots to think about. Lots of love Kelly💕

Lisa I agree with you on everything that you said! I’ve been married 38 years and in my opinion it’s about respecting and listening to one another❤️❤️

About John....I always smile when you show us an outfit, some new shoes, or handbag, and then tell us how much John loved it too! Not all, but many men would just say "ah ha" and basically blow their partner off. But John gives honest feedback to you, and compliments your style, hair, etc. I think this is so cool! 👍🏻

Thanks Lisa, great reminders and advice. I’ve been married since 98 and can total relate to everything you said. “Full Control” and wanting peace is powerful. Cute outfit of the day! Just ordered the YSL foundation you recommended a while back from Sephora at 20% off that ends at midnight!

I absolutely love this video. I need to re-evaluate how I respond to my ex-husband and people after being in a horrible marriage I instantly want to defend myself which often times creates a negative situation. Thanks so much for talking from your heart! I have been watching you from the beginning and always thought you were the sweetest!

This was great! It is all about our thinking and how we choose to think about situations. Like right now, I am not happy with the way I look and my weight. Sometimes when I am trying things on, I look in the mirror and I think "wow, I look terrible". Or, I can change that and think, "ok, I'm not looking the way I want to right now" and that is a much kinder approach to myself and a more optimistic view. Everything starts with our thoughts!

👏👏👏👏👏 And it’s not even Wednesday!!!
Every moment of every day we make choices as to what version of ourselves we’re going to be. I want to be the best possible version of myself. That means not immediately reacting to something, but waiting a second and choosing my response. Our life is not all about us. It is about everyone whose life we touch. ❤️

Loved this Lisa! Our power really is in how we choose to react in any and every situation. ✌️ ❤️ the only thing we can control is how we behave. And that is powerful.
