Lisa this video was SO helpful to me! I get the "troll" type of haters and their negativity does get to me over time (I've been on RUclips 7 years now) paired with the whole covid stuff (which is depressing on it's own!) I had gotten to a point over the last 9 months that I went from 1 or 2 videos per week to just 2 per month and this last month have only done 1! ALL because of letting the "trolls" get in my head and take the joy out of doing my videos. This was a GREAT reminder to me that they are just a very small part of commenters and I need to forget about them and focus on my wonderful viewers who ARE supportive & kind. For every one of those flying monkeys, there are tenfold of us that really enjoy yours and Lisas and many others' videos. This whole year has been so hard on people's hearts and minds and has brought out the worst in some. But it has shown us some real gems, too. Hater websites??? Oh Lord, I had no idea such a thing existed. Haters are just bullies that are emboldened by the anonymity of being behind a keyboard. My Mum used to tell me that if someone is talking badly about you, it’s more about how they feel about themselves and you can bet you aren’t the only one they are talking about! It reminds me of people who get behind the wheel of their vehicle and take out all their frustrations on other drivers. I can’t imagine being on the receiving end of it but when you think about it, it’s really sad that they have nothing better to do with their time other than stalk and insult people. Best not to give them one second of your attention. It just adds fuel to the fire. The majority of us are here because we love you. And I completely agree with letting evil into your life. Yep the miserable ones are the biggest haters. It’s sad though because the more miserable you are with your life and yourself the more you project that to other people. I’ve noticed that in my own life when I’m feeling insecure and unhappy. It’s all about loving yourself!!!! At 38 I’ve finally realized that!

When you were describing love and hate I instantly thought of “STAN” from Eminem. I grew up in the 90’s and I think Eminem did a phenomenal job explaining how admiration turns cold. I think jealously is the issue, and while it’s a natural feeling it’s very immature to let it control you.
I had no idea that people were that intrusive! To call the places where you shop or frequent and spread lies. I’m really enjoying your daily videos. I might not get to them all, but i feel like we’re becoming new friends! I was traumatized when one of my YT videos got pushed out last spring and I was getting HORRIBLE comments that first week. I didnt even want to read my comments! Then I started deleting and blocking if it was hateful in the first sentence. I just started hearing about “hater” websites and zoom groups. I had no idea that people get together to tear down other mature beauty channels. I decided ignorance is bliss☺️
Lisa, I remember back in the day when you had horrible trolls coming for you, I was so sad for you. You learned how to handle it but it was bad. People are mean when they are jealous. They are so miserable in their own lives they need to make others feel bad. You are amazing, gracious and genuine.

Oh Lisa 4 years ago a troll went to my Instagram page and and picked a Pict with me and my son and told me how I could I look so ugly even with makeup on 😳 I was devastated Now years later if I see a negative comment I read it, laugh and go my way 💪💪 I don’t let it get to me 💃🏼

I read it as a young adult and it's probably one of the best books I've ever read. He talks about how to identify toxic people in our world and what to do about them. I've never forgotten it. On another subject....I'm close to hitting 100K subscribers and decided to go back and watch my very first video 8 years ago. I then read the comments that came in, under it, from 8 years ago. I had to go to a therapist a few years back because I was suffering so much from what someone was saying about me. It was someone I love so it was extra heartbreaking. The first bit of advice she told me was "What people say about you says more about them than it does about you" It was such a revelation and yet I was over 50 before I heard and needed that advice. People act according to what has gone on in their life, not whats going on in yours. I have seen a very big change in you Lisa. Ever since the hurricane and the cat people scratched your eyes out. I love your gentle, kind, caring ways, and that's what I am here for. TY for this!

These are great lessons for not allowing hate into any aspect of your life!! Don't let other people's unkind words cloud your perception of yourself! Like many others here, I have experienced haters in my every day life in my own career... there are often others out there (both men and women) who are envious of your wins and want to see you fail. It's all about them, and never about you. I just keep on with my awesome work, get recognized for my professionalism and for rising above the BS. I think that the haters and trolls who pop up on RUclips videos or IG posts are a special bunch (lol) who just have such a low self-esteem, and it's so sad for them. About 9 or 10 years ago I broke my leg badly and was in bed for 3 months and got into youtube especially the beauty community and found your channel. You have a different life style and look to me but I enjoyed the differences and learned a lot from you. I also remember you talking about those haters and went looking for their website...it was horrendous and brutal, and made me never ever want to do a youtube channel. Lisa, so many things I’d like to say about this video. First, you knocked it out of the park girl!! Love the shoes; they have Via Spiga feel to them. Now, I do not have a youtube channel but my brother does and he experiences the same “hate” from some people. Ignoring negative comments is absolutely the way to go; doing anything other than that just feeds it and gives them what they want. I’d like to recommend a small , quick read book that I read decades ago. Its called “The Five Agreements” by Miguel Ruiz. One of the agreements is “never take anything personally”. You can read it for yourself, but the premise behind that agreement is that everything a person says is about what is happening in their own life and really has nothing to do with you. One of the other agreements talks about choosing your words impeccably because of the life-lone impact that words have on people. Ok, I’ll get off by soapbox and thank you for another heartfelt great video.

I’m telling you, I watched movies where everyone’s heads are cut in the first 10 violent minutes, and I wasn’t as shocked as I was when I realized “real people” can spend their time writing such awful things. If you are a good person & are known for being good & kind you will have people who know you take up for you. I had a guy telling people I had sliced his tires! I didn't even know this guy. So when the police questioned my neighbors they told him, "she is the nicest lady. We've known her for 30 yrs & she would never do such a thing!" Ended the investigation right there.
I've always admired the way you deal with haters. I've noticed a long time ago you NEVER mention them, which I like. Most youtubers spend so much time talking about haters that I end up unsubscribing because I'm tired of hearing it. Look at someone like Jaclyn Hill, she doesnt even post anymore because of the amount of hate she gets. When she goes on twitter, all she does is address haters. I think it gets old for the people that follow you because they love you! I'd rather they just block and ignore and address the love, reply to nice comments, etc. It's much more productive and also it shows that you don't take your community for granted. About those websites: I find them so creepy. To be completely obsessed with someone to the point where you try to find out every little detail about their lives, it's weird. They treat youtubers as celebrities, it's dangerous because celebrities have body guards and live in gated communities, but most youtubers don't. I imagine those people don't have friends or hobbies. So yeah, I think your way of dealing with the hate is better. I wish other youtubers did the same thing.

Hater websites??? Oh Lord, I had no idea such a thing existed. Haters are just bullies that are emboldened by the anonymity of being behind a keyboard. My Mum used to tell me that if someone is talking badly about you, it’s more about how they feel about themselves and you can bet you aren’t the only one they are talking about! It reminds me of people who get behind the wheel of their vehicle and take out all their frustrations on other drivers. I can’t imagine being on the receiving end of it but when you think about it, it’s really sad that they have nothing better to do with their time other than stalk and insult people. Best not to give them one second of your attention. It just adds fuel to the fire. The majority of us are here because we love you. And I completely agree with letting evil into your life. I don’t believe films like Hostel and Saw should be allowed to be made. How is that entertaining? It’s sickening! Love you girl! P. S. I have four cats and a dog so I’m one up on you! xx 💋

Yep the miserable ones are the biggest haters. It’s sad though because the more miserable you are with your life and yourself the more you project that to other people. I’ve noticed that in my own life when I’m feeling insecure and unhappy. It’s all about loving yourself!!!! At 38 I’ve finally realized that!

When you were describing love and hate I instantly thought of “STAN” from Eminem. I grew up in the 90’s and I think Eminem did a phenomenal job explaining how admiration turns cold. I think jealously is the issue, and while it’s a natural feeling it’s very immature to let it control you.

I’m really enjoying your daily videos. I might not get to them all, but i feel like we’re becoming new friends! I was traumatized when one of my YT videos got pushed out last spring and I was getting HORRIBLE comments that first week. I didnt even want to read my comments! Then I started deleting and blocking if it was hateful in the first sentence. I just started hearing about “hater” websites and zoom groups. I had no idea that people get together to tear down other mature beauty channels. I decided ignorance is bliss☺️
Lisa, I remember back in the day when you had horrible trolls coming for you, I was so sad for you. You learned how to handle it but it was bad. People are mean when they are jealous. They are so miserable in their own lives they need to make others feel bad. You are amazing, gracious and genuine.

I read it as a young adult and it's probably one of the best books I've ever read. He talks about how to identify toxic people in our world and what to do about them. I've never forgotten it. On another subject....I'm close to hitting 100K subscribers and decided to go back and watch my very first video 8 years ago. I then read the comments that came in, under it, from 8 years ago. I had to go to a therapist a few years back because I was suffering so much from what someone was saying about me. It was someone I love so it was extra heartbreaking. The first bit of advice she told me was "What people say about you says more about them than it does about you" It was such a revelation and yet I was over 50 before I heard and needed that advice. People act according to what has gone on in their life, not whats going on in yours. I have seen a very big change in you Lisa. Ever since the hurricane and the cat people scratched your eyes out. I love your gentle, kind, caring ways, and that's what I am here for. TY for this!

They get angry about their own life and take it out on the person's life they admire? These are great lessons for not allowing hate into any aspect of your life!! Don't let other people's unkind words cloud your perception of yourself! Like many others here, I have experienced haters in my every day life in my own career... there are often others out there (both men and women) who are envious of your wins and want to see you fail. It's all about them, and never about you. I just keep on with my awesome work, get recognized for my professionalism and for rising above the BS. I think that the haters and trolls who pop up on RUclips videos or IG posts are a special bunch (lol) who just have such a low self-esteem, and it's so sad for them. About 9 or 10 years ago I broke my leg badly and was in bed for 3 months and got into youtube especially the beauty community and found your channel. You have a different life style and look to me but I enjoyed the differences and learned a lot from you. I also remember you talking about those haters and went looking for their website...it was horrendous and brutal, and made me never ever want to do a youtube channel. But I have to say, it made me appreciate how brave you girls are for putting yourselves out there. You are one of the few I still watch after all these years. Keep up the good work Lisa :)

Lisa, so many things I’d like to say about this video. First, you knocked it out of the park girl!! Love the shoes; they have Via Spiga feel to them. Now, I do not have a youtube channel but my brother does and he experiences the same “hate” from some people. Ignoring negative comments is absolutely the way to go; doing anything other than that just feeds it and gives them what they want. I’d like to recommend a small , quick read book that I read decades ago. Its called “The Five Agreements” by Miguel Ruiz. One of the agreements is “never take anything personally”. You can read it for yourself, but the premise behind that agreement is that everything a person says is about what is happening in their own life and really has nothing to do with you. One of the other agreements talks about choosing your words impeccably because of the life-lone impact that words have on people. Ok, I’ll get off by soapbox and thank you for another heartfelt great video.

I’m telling you, I watched movies where everyone’s heads are cut in the first 10 violent minutes, and I wasn’t as shocked as I was when I realized “real people” can spend their time writing such awful things. If you are a good person & are known for being good & kind you will have people who know you take up for you. I had a guy telling people I had sliced his tires! I didn't even know this guy. So when the police questioned my neighbors they told him, "she is the nicest lady. We've known her for 30 yrs & she would never do such a thing!" Ended the investigation right there.
I've always admired the way you deal with haters. I've noticed a long time ago you NEVER mention them, which I like. Most youtubers spend so much time talking about haters that I end up unsubscribing because I'm tired of hearing it. Look at someone like Jaclyn Hill, she doesnt even post anymore because of the amount of hate she gets. When she goes on twitter, all she does is address haters. I think it gets old for the people that follow you because they love you! I'd rather they just block and ignore and address the love, reply to nice comments, etc. It's much more productive and also it shows that you don't take your community for granted. About those websites: I find them so creepy. To be completely obsessed with someone to the point where you try to find out every little detail about their lives, it's weird. They treat youtubers as celebrities, it's dangerous because celebrities have body guards and live in gated communities, but most youtubers don't. I imagine those people don't have friends or hobbies. So yeah, I think your way of dealing with the hate is better. I wish other youtubers did the same thing.
