FINALLY! The Honda I’ve Always Wanted | My First K-Series BUILD!!

- I would like to introduce everyone to the newest car build on the channel! What started as a high school dream car has now turned into a VTEC screaming reality! This is my DC5 2005 Acura RSX Type-S!!!
In today's video, I give you an exciting intro and walk-around of the new build! The RSX has always had a special place in my heart and I knew I would (eventually) own one. Staying in the Honda Project Car realm, I wanted something that came with a great motor that I could modify and make my own. However, like all my car purchases, this one also came with a story worth telling. I'll save that for another day though!
In a nutshell, this is a well-cared for RSX Type-S with a good grip of miles with (hopefully) plenty more to go in my ownership! I have a TON of build plans for this car with parts already rolling in. Similar to my Civic builds, the RSX is another great platform with plenty of aftermarket support that I can't wait to explore. I explain in the video some (but not all) of my plans for the car with the intention to build it as a long-term project.
Is ALL"K"ANTHONY a thing? Can we make it a thing? The K20Z1 is my first K-series motor, and I can see why the addiction is real. The VTEC crossover is pretty wild and I express my love for the sound and feel. This is gonna be good and I can't wait to start!
Thank you to BOTH Jimmy and Dane for enduring the mountain intro with me and hanging out of a van to get the fire rollers. Without them, this would have been filmed behind a candle factory.
Jimmy (JW.Media): jimmywilkey
Dane (Gr8DaneFilms): gr8danefilms
Thanks for watching and stay tuned!

That intro edit though 🥵 Acura coulda used that as a commercial on the release! Can't wait to see the AllKAnthony special done on this thing! She's a beaut.
Thanks man! Lots of work. Couldn’t have done it without Jimmy and Dane!
@@ALLDAYANTHONY You guys nailed it man! It was worth every second.
I've owned an rsx and the ep3. I totally recommend adding hardraces reverse tie rod ends and roll center ball joints when lowering those vehicles. Totally corrects and dials in the steering for those chassis. 👍👍
Noted!!
@@ALLDAYANTHONY I second this! Loved my EP3 to death but driving it on LA's pothole filled roads made me nervous with all that bumpsteer lol
SHG steering rack slider is an awesome mod as well
@@wiltfongdc5 it's a necessary mod for that feedback and control
The problem with adding reverse tie rods is that it increases the amount of bumpsteer. I do recommend the SHG rack slider and RCA ball joint
Only 16XXXX MILES man that's a young K series , not even a joke my 2003 rsx S is at 300XXX miles and still running like a champ
I love the Type S. The K20z1 is absolutely amazing! Ashamed they're getting so expensive now but I gotta say, they're still worth it
I just picked up a 2005 type s a few months ago for $5300 and I love it
@@flrekreeper7635 congrats man! Enjoy it
Thanks man! I made it out of the deal pretty good!
@@ALLDAYANTHONY definitely haha can't wait to see what you do with it. Loved the civic build
Lowk just get a base model and k24 it lol
I'm pretty sure it's been said already, but as a fellow DC5 driver:
Poly bushings and the SHG delrin slider are a must especially if you wanna build a canyon carver. Everything else comes to personal taste and tuning. Can't wait to see what you have planned for your car
He even says she meaning he got this from a girl because hintz its a girls car.
I love my RSX! I've had it for ten years, with 300k miles and zero plans to get rid of it. The styling still looks great, it's super practical, the interior design is one of my favorites of any car I've seen (double-DIN really helps it out, too), and of course the K is an epic engine family with infinite potential. Subbed to see what you do with yours. Mods I'd immediately recommend are to address the shortcomings of the front MacPherson struts. The "compliance bushing," the big one on the front LCA, is prone to quick failure just from how big the thing is and completely ruins the feel of the front end; check the condition of yours, there is of course the urethane (and probably spherical bearing) replacement options. Due to the front struts, lowering the car can result in bad bump-steer; there are steering rack risers out there to correct the angle of the tie rods, as well as billet sliders to tighten up the steering feel (the OEM plastic wears out).
Awesome tips man! 300k that’s awesome!!!
He goes by SHG Motorworks now.
Had mine for 5 years n just hit 200k mileage yesterday lol. It has a jdm k24a but I'm planning on keeping this car forever
Mines just hit 260k last month crazy how long these k series engines can go
It needed a K24 for the factory.. The K24 makes the Dc5 a completely different car for the street and its a night and day better motor for daily driving. The added torque is sooo nice. I always hated waiting til almost 6k to get any type of power out of this car. The K24 fixes all of that. I have the best of both worlds too with the Type R K20A head and the JDM K24A bottom end from an RBB3 model. Using a custom 40 degree VTC and have the ported K20 pump so I am hitting 8500 with zero issues. Made 250whp/205wtq on the dyno.
Great choice! I curently own (2) DC5s, and believe it to be the second best Honda ever built hands down.
Super excited for the new build! Can’t wait for the all the videos to come!
Same here man. Can’t wait to jump in!
have one now, and i love it. wait till you get that sway bar, youll be having a blast. if your into the stock oem look of the seats, i recommend trying to find the cloth seats in the 06 base. theyre super rare and look amazing.
Anthony is finally a Dc5 owner, now we need him to get S2k and Nsx 😏
I’m so excited for this build, happy you said that your plan is to keep it
Dang, I bought my ‘04 NHBP RSX-S in 2018 with 145k now it’s got 230k, but I’ve loved and documented every step in the journey, here’s to another 230k, cheers!🍻
Congrats on the RSX! It's one of my favorite Hondas. I can tell you are even more thrilled on this one and I'm excited to see what you do with it!
Super excited about the RSX 🥳 looking forward to all the future videos on it 👍🏽
Broooo I just sold my 06 RSX and bought an 09 2IS. Seeing this video is making me miss it even more😭
Awesome! I wanted one of these but I couldn't find any decent ones here in LA. The K20 VTEC Engine is the most Awesome Honda has ever made. Those Engines are bulletproof, 189K is barely broken in!
You better hurry and get one cuz Cali is banning all these cars soon... that or leave cali ASAP(like I did, its a trash state anyway)
A new Clutch master and slave cylinder was an amazing upgrade on my DC5. Sick car bro 🙌
Love the new car! The trunk space is unbelievable I was able to fit a whole rsx hood and fender inside the car!
Damn! Just when I start looking into these for my first build you grab one haha, I’m excited to see what you do with this man that red civic gave me so much respect for OEM+
Buy one!!! Thank you
I upgraded my 96 civic LX to a 05 RSX 5 speed 10 years ago. It was a day and night difference. Must be a blast to drive this RSX. Congrats!
Ant, you really outdone yourself with this video's editing, wow, i'm extremely excited to see where this goes, i hope it works out and i hope you have loads of fun lad
Hi Anthony. Great intro video/music to show us what an amazing Honda RSX, Dc5 Integra you have. Such a clean example of this Jdm classic. Can't wait for all the modifications, idea's you have in mind to make this black beauty even more special. Keep the Honda content coming and maybe do a montage of the Integra and Civic together when she's finished👍🏽
So happy to see you working on an RSX! Shifting from 2nd to 3rd in my 2012 SI is my absolute favorite!
Can't wait to see more of the rsx content, congrats on your new awesome ride.! Your content never disappoints
I’ve recently found a Mint 04 TSX and to see this really makes me happy. Glad to see you with a K series!!! Finnaly! Can’t wait for the next video and the one after that!! I’ll try to get some pointers from your build since they are similar-ish. I’m currently modding mine as well👍👍
Yes!!!!!!! You finally bought one!! I’ve been asking for this for a long time I’m excited
That intro gave me chills, man. Great work and I cant wait to see this build!
Loved watching every second of this video! I'm an original owner of a 05 base auto rsx (I know...) but still love it because I had purchased it for an easy reliable commuter that could hold an insane audiophile car stereo system. I do look forward to your upgrades and plan on doing more on mine because I do feel the suspension can use a refresh. Original owner with almost 140k now 😁 nhbp with black cloth interior.
Congrats on your new purchase! ❤️
This is a sign that I need to get it now. I’ve been looking for weeks for a good Honda and this is it
Yessssss!!!!!!! My best friend had one and we absolutely loved it absolutely proud of this purchase
just came across this vid and your channel. Excited to see your type s build. I have owned a pearl white type s now for just over 1 year, and it's such a great fun yet practical car. Glad you are going oem+ style, and not stancing/ricing it out.
Very nice choice! Can’t wait to see what you do with it.
Idaho really knows how to set the tone with these types of vids, that intro was amzing👌
im so glad you upload man, love the channel
I am so excited about this build
Beautiful car and awesome engine
Keep it upp
I’m excited for this I myself picked up a 02 RSX type s in satin silver about 3 months ago and I love it
Pretty clean for 189K miles. I had a 05 Type S as well. Was unmolested but had some paint fade on roof and lip spoiler. Ended up selling it and got a 8th gen FA5. Love the FA5, feels more powerful and has more torque. You should try a FA or FG for comparison. Nonetheless, looking forward for contents on the DC5
I loved mine so much then somone ran a red light and there it went. I had the pearl white and I swapped the black interior in to it, worth every $. Best mods I did was clutch, short shifter and the magapower r catback. Ep3 airbag with the red sticker would look awesome!
You said about it not being an 8 GEN, I am personally a 7th guy, and take a lot of beating because of it LOL. But I am happy that you kept it in the Honda realm.
And something personally I would love to see, is a well done video on bags. A little more on the expensive side, but I think it would be sweet. It’s hard to find videos, that actually explain the process. True heart makes a set that I have heard a lot of good things about.
I knew it!! Can’t wait to see this build!! I own an 02 rsx type s and I love it!! K-series is the way to go!
Awesome man!
Only watch the intro and I subbed, looking foward to this build!
I had one in highschool, desert silver metalic with the light interior. that high redline was amazing. Can't wait to see the build Anthony!
Appreciate it man. I’ll see what I can do
I spent a lot of time under my friends RSX-S helping him with it, they are great cars
This is about to be the cleanest RSX build on YT. LFG.
YES!!! Just fell to my knees at a local Walmart in joy. Fellow RSX owner as well! If you need any help/discounts on OEM parts, I work in parts at an Acura dealership. Would love to help you in any way I can!
I laughed out loud at this comment hahaha. Thanks man!
I hope you make this thing fast as hell. Just my hopes. It is beautiful and congratulations on the new build 👍👍
no way i had a 1998 civic and watched all your civics vids, now i got a rsx 2006 im ready to go step by step with you
I'm still in the hunt for this car. Congrats on the purchase Anthony
Very excited for this, this is my dream car as is rn.
Looking forward to the build! Your builds give me inspiration!
Thanks man. Wish me luck!
For the front end. Put on a subaru impreza sti lip/splitter. That's it! 🙂👍. Super hyped for this build 🙌
Excited for this!
YES!!!!!!!!!!!! Super pumped for the new build! you gotta keep this one Tony
Thanks mike I am too!
Anthony, I would recommend painting the whole front clip. If the hood and the front bumper are that bad the fenders arent going to be much better. Especially if its a pearl they will likely want to blend it.
Love the new car and look forward to seeing you put your flare into it!
I’ll see what magic I can make happen!
couldnt be more excited I bought my 02 desert silver metallic titanium interior rsx base 4 months ago and im super super hyped that you bought an rsx I couldn't be happier for you man!
Thanks man! Congrats on your purchase as well!
I already know this is going to be a crazy build
Man I was so sure this was a 8th gen civic...but man this will be a great build can't wait to see the content you will be putting out.
Had a 8lb ACT flywheel and OEM clutch in my S2000. it was perfect and no issues driving around town at all
Love that you finally got a k series! Been working at a Honda shop for a couple years now and all I can say is to stick to acuity and hybrid racing as much as possible. Ktuned parts arent built to the same level and quality
Super excited to see where this goes and can’t wait to learn as well.
Thanks man! I’ll be learning some things as well lol
Welcome to the dc5 community !! Love it!!
Congrats! That car came out when i was a junior in high school and i always wanted one ever since.
They are a ton of fun
That intro was filthy 🔥🔥 nice pickup, always loved these!
Thanks dude!
The intro was 🔥 excited for the project! Love from Pakistan 🇵🇰❤️
Congrats on the new build project!
Thanks Ron!
NO WAY!!! I was expecting an fg2 but now im even more excited!! I love my 06 type s soooo much and will be watching every single upload of this. Mine is also nhbp!
Hell yeah man!!! Glad to have you
@@ALLDAYANTHONY been here ever since your first civic upload! Big fan of your channel
my first car is an '06 rsx, base, but it has a story that doesn't want me to let it go. i love it. tastful car
Keep it!
i cant explain how happy i am i just bought an 02 rsx with 182k miles and cant wait to get some inspo from you
Awesome! Congrats dude
i’m new to your channel but i just wanted to say that intro sequence was insane! so awesome.
also i love the RSX hella and i’m glad i found your channel while you’re building it, can’t wait to see more! 🥵🥵
Hell yeah! Moving up the VTEC Ladder!😂
One cam at a time! Lol
I love my black 02 type S Ive had it for forever and its still 98k miles, It doesnt get driven around nowadays but I think i will never get rid of it lol, not till Ive boosted it.
Love these! Love your videos 🤘🏼 Can’t wait for more
Thanks man!
Wow such good condition! Great buy ✅
I was excited for the FG2 however I am way more excited about the type-s I love integras I’m super excited to see how this build goes!
Glad you like it! I’m pumped
I owned a mugen rsx in boise w couple years ago, you shot it once at sharkfest lol but you did tell me you always wanted an rsx and I’m glad you got one!! Some mugen parts on this would be so sick
I've always loved how the RSX looks, especially this one with the more simple headlights and taillights, I love OEM+ stuff lol, it's great to see you're going for the Type R spoiler, I love it, the black looks great too, I'd recommend a dark blue if you ever wrap it
I do love the face lifted version as well! Thanks man
Congratulation Anthony, One of my dream car😍. Hi from Argentina😍
Dang~son! You did it. Happy for you, Anthony. Just "subscribed" and looking forward to your future videos. There are so much you can do. Hope you enjoy and have fun with the rsx type s. P.S. I personally think black looks better. You get more reflections off of it and looks more glossy at night.
This thing is about to be a beast.
Hell yea, super excited to see this build. Haven't seen much of your channel since your civic. I own one 04 RSX Type S. FBO with dc cam. Super excited to see this chapter. Keep killen it man. Hopefully to meet ya soon.
Hell yeah man! Thanks for showing up!
Jdm yellow fog lights would set that rsx apart! Congrats on the new car and can’t wait to see what you do with it!
Congrats man ! Hope you enjoy it ! 🙌🙌
Thanks fam!
😀😍 looking forward to the build!! Definitely change the CMC. I went with the OEM EM2 CMC with DC5CREATION ss line for 4 years and no issue so far yet.
CDs LP 😀👍 sweet ride. Looking forward to the transformation.
just purchased a black 96 civic coupe and having only owned a blue vehicle, I dig the black on these!
Nice! 🔥🔥🔥 gonna be crazy 180k miles!? Stock k series don’t die!!
If youre looking for a good OEM+ front lip, vis makes a "type r" front lip that mimic the earlier 02-04 type r lips but for the 05/06
I have a 98 exr coupe with 56,000 km's on it and I want to restore it to look its best. But I'm really considering an RSX as a fun car to throw parts at and beat up. Looks like you got a great one!!
Another great build..cant wait!!!
Man your just building my favorite cars you build the red civic now one of my favorite Honda/Acura rsx I CAN’T wait to see what you do with this car The rsx is such a fun car all three of my brothers have them and I’m about to buy one
Thanks man! Gotta join the club!
A friend of mine bought a high mileage RSX Type S. He raced and beat on the motor any time he could. The only reason why he was burning oil was because he was pushing it past 8000rpm every time but even with the mileage it had, it ran great even though it had over 250k miles on it.
GLORIOUS!!! Intro and soundtrack felt like im in Tokyo
Thanks dude!! Wanted to try and set the vibes haha
Very Excited for this build! Look into the DC5 Type R side skirts. That way it could be a type r replica! Oh yeah, Hondata Reflash will change the car drastically for the better.
@ALLDAYANTHONY I own my DC5 ITR for 4y now and started modding it from the start. Bassicly it's the same as a type S. For bumpsteer don't waste money on inverted tierod ends or a rack raiser if u're not slamming it. I learned the hard way wasting my money on these. I'm running extended LCA balljoints, a stiffer SHG rackslider and bushings to increase castor. This did the trick for my bumpsteer. My ITR is setup for trackday's currently running a staggered setup with 255's up front with -3° camber. Adjustable tierods are needed for this amount of camber because the stock ones are a bit long. In the back i'm running 235's at -2° camber. I drive it accasionaly on the street and have to say that it torquesteers, tramlines and can be very darty. But it's predictable as you get used to it and has a ton of grip compared to stock. you just can't have a fast track setup and a compfy street setup at same time with these chassis. do your research on coilovers because the difference in spring rate front and back is important to let the car rotate as much as possible. I'm running 9Kg up front and 16Kg springs in the back and for the moment the stock (ITR) swaybars are fine. best of luck with your new car 👍
Excuse my english...
Why is it so clean! wow it's in amazing condition I love it!
Thanks! I thought so too!
Got mine 2.5 years ago and debated on the Aspec lip kit, but I am going to keep those mud guards. Needs the dent correction, paint etc, but at 89k miles it's in great shape overall.
Get the Acuity 2way shifter for it, it looks factory but shifts like a dream..and also get the hybrid racing clutch master cylinder, it gets rid of the delay that the factory one provides..so you can shift much faster and easier..the combo of just those 2 mods makes shifting second to none...
I love it. Ready to see some amazing content!!
Appreciate you! Thanks!
