What I’ve learned is that I value characters like her and Nick Offerman I’m contrast to other people. I LOVE Aaron Swanson. I cannot get through Nick’s standup comedy. I love April, but find it almost too much without the Andy’s around her.
There's just something about a really beautiful young woman being deadpan, jittery, and vaguely hostile that makes me howl with laughter. It's a marvelous comic persona, but it's not all she can do. If you want to see what I mean, see an intense little dramedy called Black Bear. But brace yourself for what Aubrey does here. I'm not kidding.

Plaza is an absolute genius. Specifically, a comic genius, but I don't think she could pull off her comic ability were she not a genuinely intelligent person. Not many people can make Dave Letterman squirm with awkwardness like she does, and still be invited back. She kills. I've got to check and see if she's ever done "Between Two Ferns" with Zach Galafanakis.
I can absolutely relate to her when it comes to speaking. Combining audiobooks while reading at the same time is the only thing that’s helped me get over this. But originally, the struggle was real.

I have pretty severe ADHD, and my whole life when I spoke I would trip over/combine/swap words/pivot thoughts because my mind is all over the place and my speech can't keep up. I also have a VERY hard time following what people are saying - I've been observing them instead of listening. Basically, I can't multi-task, I can only focus on one thing at a time, anything else is ignored. And I noticed reading while listening to the audiobook helps me practice...focused multitasking? And focused communication? I'm a performer, and I definitely do better work on stage in plays when I regularly do this. My scenes just feel like they have more authentic pacing and I have an easier time listening to scene partners. Just a theory!!!

David Letterman has always come across as being kinda insensitive and oblivious. You can even tell in the interview he seems to play her off in a kind of non-chalant way, which is kinda disrespectful if you ask me.
When you watch Letterman clips you discover that he asked guests the same mundane questions each time they visited. "Let's talk about that again," she says. He's oblivious.
She has quick wit which makes her a valuable underused actress. She to me is adorable. If she ever she's this, keep kicking in doors Audrey and keeping it real.
She actually kind of reminds me of the appearances Charles Grodin would make on Letterman and Carson, where they do a shtick where they seem like they're completely uninterested in being there but it's actually well thought out and comedically brilliant.
She was THE weak point of Parks & Rec by far but that was a long time ago and I guess she has gotten better since then. They always played the "she is so attractive by being non conformist" angle while she literally walked around like a doll under tons of make up. Her acting back then was bad but its god to know she has gotten better.
