    I do not care what Ben Chiarot thinks about anything. He (and a number of the other "veteran defenders") is the reason we don't have a defense to speak of. It has been that way all year, and with Larkin out and goals at a minimum - they continue to cough the puck up, pinch at terrible times, and let opposing teams do whatever they want in the offensive zone. Real difficult to have "veteran presence" when that presence is directly responsible for the goals against.

    Response to Perron and Chariot: you guys and several others need to sit out and have the rookies come up. You need to give up part of your salaries. And no, you can't find a way, Perron. That's an excuse that is overused. There's no defense, there's no offense now, either. Hang up your skates and let others play the game. You have shown already that you can't be taken seriously as professional hockey players anymore. Sorry, but if i was your GM I'd say your time is up. Either get into coaching/hockey operations or watch from the stands. You're done. Thank you for your contribution.

    And as far as Lalonde, he needs to step down if the Wings get behind several games from contending for the wildcard. There is no excuse for these multi-million $ veterans to play as if they could barely qualify in the midget league.. I would expect some rookies to play that horribly, but not veterans that have been in the NHL for several years. If that's the case, then they're over the hill and it's time to hang up their skates and either sit in the stands or stand behind a bench with a shirt, coat, and tie.

    Atleast my jersey is Fedorov, not any of these ass-clowns that cant seem to play like the glory days of The Bruised Brothers and Russian 5. These guys are slow, and just boring to watch since Larkins absents.
    Ive been a die hard Red Wings Fan since the '97/'98 Cup win.
    This team is slowly killing that little by little with every scramble fest they throw at us.

      no but he does deserve to be held to account. having 1 top 6 center is unacceptable. and it is why Kane and Cat's offense 5v5 has disappeared. they literally don't have another center to play w them.
      you don't need a ton more offense to win a lot of these games they've been losing. you just need basic offense. but they don't have it bc Steve has 1 center and he's out.

    • @HAL9010-sv1gh
      @HAL9010-sv1gh 6 месяцев назад +2

      Or maybe your spelling coach does..."fierd"🤔?
      This Red Wings team has all the experience necessary to beat teams like Arizona, but it also has a lot of forwards who can't or won't: check back effectively, aggressively seek to retrieve pucks (particularly along the boards), soundly execute a defensive plan/scheme, etc. It also visibly lacks fire and grit at present, out on the ice, as the final score line in this game bears clear testament to🤯👎!
      As with the back-to-back thrashings by the Sens, last season, Steve Yzerman clearly recently saw that this team's shortcomings would prevent it making a really serious run at the playoffs in the final, pressure-filled quarter of this season. Faced with that evident reality, he admirably refused to overpay for fan-pleasing, supposedly quickfix players at the trade deadline, preferring instead to keep his powder dry for the off-season. He also, correctly I believe, took the view that with the Griffins having a far better season in the AHL, there was little to be gained by blowing up their season just to create the short term illusion of shaking things up for the better in Detroit.
      Overall, it's been a better season than the last one, but this recent stretch of games has exposed some harsh truths about this team overall: its' too slow when it really matters, its' too soft in key moments e.g. along the boards, and it has good attacking players who seemingly cannot play effective defense to save their lives (Fabbri, the Cat, etc.). It also seems to have a coaching team who are scarily bereft of ANY effective defensive coaching strategies/tactics to deal with the Red Wings' opponents. End of the day, that's on them collectively, NOT on Steve Yzerman.
      Roll on 2024/25🙄!

      @@HAL9010-sv1gh all these words just to say nothing. 'experience' doesn't beat teams. talent does. the Wings don't have a 2nd center. so no, w Larkin out they have no talent. their talented wingers can't play.

      Why are you talking about Yzerman when the team is playing like a bag of shit? Yzerman is probably the most pissed off person right now.
