I often play in situations with a singer songwriter who plays guitar. Sometimes we will have a lead guitarist as well. The types of variations that you talk about at the end are great whether they are played straight through or slid into parts of the song as a variation. You can alter the feeling in a song without interrupting the rhythmic feel. Sometimes substituting those low tones puts some bottom end in a song when there is no bass player.
Happy New Year to you, Eric‼️When I'm at work, I use a table to come up with these "switched" patterns that you showcased. Then I try them out in my studio when I get home. Trust me, I just gotta love it‼️💯🔥⚱️⚱️😎👍🏼
Hi Eric, Happy and Healthy new year for you and Familia. I've being playing Timbales for many years but in 2020 (Pandemic) I suitch to Congas. I"ve being playing with small groups and it's ok but every time I practice my hands spetially the dominant hand get cut and that's being going on for the last 3 years. What you suggest to avoid cuttting my hands. Thanks, God Bless !!!
Man, I was just thinking about a video for just 2 congas last week!! 😮 Freaky! Lots of stuff here! This will keep me busy for a while!! Thanks! 🪘🪘✌️😎
Nice, the natural wood finish.

One of your patterns sounds like the intro to the 70's hit, Be Thankful For What You've Got by William DeVaughn!
Was just watching your abakua vid last night and learning it, now this? What a perfect timing! 🪘🍀
Diggin’ it brotha man!

By the way, terrific tutorial !!!!!!!!!!
How do you know if your drums are tuned up I have three drums congas.
Love this - it’s substantial and productive while simple enough to understand and remember (mostly) at a glance. Thanks, Eric!

I have my congas for a couples of years now and they started making like a not so nice ringing sound , i dont know what to do to fix it ?
Is it my idea, or does the conga look very small in comparison to the Tumba?
what else is good is one hand on each drum
