It's gorgeous but way to perfect, curly are very unpredictable, some with be curly some will be more wavy (I'm my personal experience). Try sperating the curls and the putting you head upside down And shaking them out or scrunching with some soft hold gel or mousse -sincerely a curly girl 🧡

Idk if you’ll ever be able to get the exact same look as their hair. Yours is long & thick. I think sitting under a hooded dryer for 30 min and then taking the rollers out, sleeping in a bonnet then separating in the morning would have made more natural looking curls and a better sleep. I have VERY curly hair and use that roller often, best curls are with heat…and good sleep. 😊

Perming is just the chemical processing to set the curls long term... you can use any curling technique with a perm so that wouldn't really change the result except making it permanent. Just need to experiment with different types of curlers until you are happy to lock it in with a perm.
From a Curly-Haired Girl: If I saw you down the street I'd think "oh, she looks absolutely beautiful" and I'll ask myself why I can't take 10 minutes to style my own curls. 🤭 However, on the rare occasion that I do, my hair does get flat on top, so that's alright. P.S.: I'm seeing comments about how curly-haired people find it funny that she is trying to recreate their hair type, so am I. I guess this is a sign for us to start embracing our curls. Use smaller sections and smaller rollers with pins that will be closer to the root.

PRO TIP!! Flip your hair upside down and fluff it a few times near your scalp, then flip back over! It will look better!

Flexirods hurt like hell. I usually pin curl my hair, but I don’t know if that would work for you because your hair is sooo long😅
Use a pick or long comb to gently “tease” the roots. And sleep with hair in a pineapple. For added root volume.
