Thank you for reacting! Replay actually came out in 2008. That’s when they debuted (I think they just re-uploaded it.) So Taemin was 14 at that time haha. Love your video!

"He got his heart broken 2-3 months before that". Minho was actually rolling in the mud or jumping from planes as a marine soldier 3 months before recording the MV :))) But you are right about him feeling it. He was the one that picked it and convinced other members to choose it as their title track.

As the members themselves have said, SHINee will always be forever five. Please feel free talk about Jonghyun's talent, his body of work, his personality, and his love for his family, SHINee and shawols. The more we remember and talk about him, that means he continues to be present 🩵🩵🩵🩵🩵
In addition to Taemin's solo work, I recommend also checking out the solos of the four other members 😊

I'm not 100% Sahwols, I love their songs so much since 2009 and my bias always Jonghyun. I always cry when everyone talk or mention about him.

Jonghyun definitely has the most unique voice in all of Kpop. Especially his growl or rasp. I don’t think it will ever be duplicated. He was a prolific songwriter.
Key, whose hairstyle was so bad you blamed his stylist; but he has always had over the top hairstyles. Since military, he’s been on lots of variety shows and has even MC’d.
Minho (Papa) is definitely daddy material. Children are just drawn to him. He’s like the Pied Piper! He probably has THE best body in Kpop, IMHO! He has a couple of performances where he takes his tops completely off! Drool.
Onew has the gorgeous classic/operatic voice. He’s on hiatus for his health.
    You know all about Taemin.

SHINee's "Replay," which came out in 2008, is literally considered one of the best debut songs of all time for any Kpop artist because it's so timeless and it never goes out of style or sounds outdated no matter how old it gets. And this is why SHINee are Icons.
This song actually came out more than 15 years ago, however, SM Entertainment rebranded itself and started its new RUclips channel in 2011. The company reuploaded most of their older videos at that time. So, all their older MVs and content have a 2011 or newer date, but could be much older than that.
You're lucky you are watching this MV after SM remastered it, because now it has English subtitles. Because usually any of SM's videos that came out before 2018 don't have subs in the official video.
"Replay" isn't just nostalgic, it's legendary. And SHINee are legends. Every new rookie group in the industry has covered "Replay" at least once in their career and it's one of those songs that is pretty much compulsory for everyone to know and learn, even still today.
And, yes, of course SHINee can sing. As an SM group, you shouldn't expect any less. You can't be SM artists without having amazing vocal abilities. Even SM's rappers get intense vocal training. That is why SM is considered the vocal powerhouse of the industry, because ALL of its artists have out-of-this-world vocal abilities.
And not only are all the members of SHINee amazing singers, but they are the original vocal kings. EXO now may be considered "the vocal kings of Kpop", but SHINee were the ones that showed the industry what it meant to be vocalists. From day one, Onew and Jonghyun have been two of the top vocalists in the entire industry, and SHINee as a group make up one of the best vocal groups of all time.
Onew is the one in the hat, Jonghyun is the one with the headphones, Key is the one in green, Minho is the one playing basketball (he is always the tallest member) and Taemin is the one in yellow.
Onew (the leader and lead vocalist) was 18, Jonghyun (the main vocalist and a songwriter) had just turned 18, Minho (the main rapper and sub-vocalist) and Key (lead vocalist and sub-rapper) were 16 and Taemin (Main dancer and lead vocalist) was 14. However, now SHINee are known for the fact that there are no longer any fixed roles in their group. The main vocalists can rap, the rappers can fill in as main vocalists and they're all impressive dancers. SHINee are some of the most well-respected artists in the industry.
The Noona (the older girl SHINee have a crush on that they are singing to) in the "Replay" MV is the leader of their sister group***, Victoria from F(x). This MV came out more than a year before F(X) debuted, so this was Victoria even before debut. (Funny thing is, Victoria is native Chinese and she says she was still learning Korean during this time and she could barely even say SHINee.) Victoria was so perfect in this role because she is a few years older than any of the SHINee members so she fit well as the lead actress in this MV. As the song says, 'Noona neomu yeppeo .... replay, replay, replay ...." In other words, they are saying "pretty older woman I really like you and I think you like me too ... every time I see you, I need a replay of the moment over and over again in my head." Noona neomu yeppeo is a Korean term that essentially means "Pretty older woman" Noona neomu yeppeo is a term that is only used by guys to describe a beautiful woman that is older than them. There really isn't a literal translation of the term, so that is why the song is called "Replay" in English. But in Korean it is called "Noona neomu yeppeo." That's why if you watch SHINee on a lot of variety shows and TV programs, the older women in the show often ask SHINee to sing this song to them, even still today. This song makes all the women swoon. (Even 15 years later, when Taemin recently appeared on The Manager reality show, the female hosts of the show asked him to sing "Replay" to them.)
***SHINee and F(x) are both SM Entertainment groups, they debuted within a year of each other, they both are 5 member groups (Now 4 member groups ;( ) and they have similar music styles and concepts, etc. F(x) is pretty much the female version of SHINee.
SHINee are one of the most iconic and influential groups. They are always setting trends, never following them. SHINee were designed to be SM Entertainment's experimental boy group, so everything they do is meant to be the first and they are expected to create the trend. With every new song SHINee produces it's expected to be different than the last, so you will never hear the same style or sound from them in any of their songs, even on the same album, and yet, somehow it will always sound like SHINee. They reinvent the industry with every new release.
Fun fact: SM originally wanted to make SHINee a hip-hop group. Hip-hop was the style of music that was really popular when they debuted. That's why Key and Minho are both rappers and how Taemin started out as a popper in dance. But as Key tells it, they just didn't have the swag they needed in order to be taken seriously as a hip-hop group. So, right before their debut, SM switched up their sound and style to "Replay," and the SHINee members spent a few intense weeks working on their vocal abilities in order to be able to match the skills needed for a vocal heavy song like this. And the rest is history. As you just heard, this is SHINee's signature classic R&B vocals they are now known for.
As you can see by their "Replay" MV, even at 14, Taemin was one of the best dancers in Kpop, and you will soon discover with the more that you watch from SHINee and Taemin's solo work, that he has only gotten more magnificent over the years.
SHINee are known for their live vocals and amazing dancing. From day one they became known as CD-quality singers because they sound just as good live, if not better, than they do recorded. When they debuted they were one of the only groups who were singing live while performing this intense choreography. And everyone was so shocked with their abilities.
The ONLY thing the SHINee members are not good at is lip syncing, therefore, they avoid it at all costs. When you hear SHINee singing, 95% of the time it will be live. It's a running joke between the fans and the members that when SHINee lip syncs you can tell because it's very obvious. So, unless they are required to lip sync for a specific reason, SHINee will always sing live.
They have trained their entire career to build endurance and stamina in order to be able to sing live and continue to sound flawless while performing like this for more than 3 hours straight in concert. SHINee set the standard. That is why they are so highly respected among their peers. It is literally referred to as the SHINee standard. It's the standard all other groups strive to reach.
You should also check out SHINee's "Replay" dance practice, ruclips.net/video/gv60nR3_69U/видео.html. It's not an official dance practice video because dance practice videos didn't become a thing until 2010 when SHINee released the very first dance practice video for their song "Lucifer," but it is a real dance practice video from way back to SHINee's debut days. SHINee are the reason why Kpop groups produce dance practice/choreography videos today.
SHINee just recently talked about how they spent months as trainees practicing this choreography in order to get it down perfectly. During Taemin's recent appearance on The Manager, you will see all 4 of the SHINee members in the dance studio practicing for their comeback, as well as their recent concert performance, and they talk about what it was like when they were trainees learning the dance.

As you may have noticed, Taemin is in the front and center a lot in "Replay" because he is the main dancer, so his job was to show off his dance skills. (Just like EXO's Kai, you will see that most main dancers are in the front and center in the majority of Kpop songs.) However, in their "Replay" MV, Taemin's dancing was particularly highlighted because he doesn't have any solo lines in the song, so his solo parts were taken up by big dance breaks.
When Taemin debuted, he was only 14 years old, so his voice hadn't really developed yet and he didn't have a good grasp of how to use his voice and produce the sounds he wanted with it. Therefore, he was only part of the group harmonies where the other members could mask any of his vocal flaws.
In the early days, people even used to make fun of Taemin's singing and they would say that he was tone deaf and couldn't sing. However, it's sort of a misconception that Taemin "couldn't sing." it wasn't that he couldn't sing, it was just that he debuted when he was so young. In the beginning, when he sang, he was often flat or his voice cracked or he was off key or out of tune, etc.
And, because he was being compared to the other members of SHINee, who are all 2 to 4 years older than him, and the other members had such phenomenal voices to start out with, it really made Taemin sound like he was lacking. That's why in their first few songs you will see that he only has a few lines, and most of the time he was just given big solo dance breaks to fill the stage at his parts in the song.
However, if he was really tone deaf, he never would have become an SM Idol trainee -- SM would have put him on the dance track and probably steered him toward becoming a backup dancer -- and he definitely would have never become the amazing singer that he is today. Someone who is truly tone deaf is physically unable to hear the difference in the notes and is unable to carry a tune.
Taemin was chosen to debut with SHINee even though he may not have been ready vocally, because he was already such an amazing dancer, that SM wanted to highlight his dance skills, and they weren't overly concerned about his singing ability at the time. His job was to be SHINee's main dancer.
But Taemin really wanted to prove to everyone that he wasn't just a dancer, so he spent a lot of extra time concentrating on vocal lessons, and the other SHINee members -- especially Onew and Jonghyun -- spent some serious time coaching and mentoring him until he learned what it took to match their vocal range and to use his voice. He worked so hard at singing that he would spend hours in the training room, and he says he would often get nose bleeds because he was so tired and was pushing himself so hard.
It's also sort of an exaggeration that "SM wouldn't give Taemin vocal training." It wasn't that he didn't get any vocal training, he took vocal classes. However, because he was so young, and his voice hadn't fully developed yet, SM didn't want him to overdo it and force his voice to do things his vocal cords weren't ready for. But being the overachiever and perfectionist that he was, Taemin wouldn't take no for an answer. He took it upon himself to train his voice and, with the other members' help, he progressed really quickly. Although, it wasn't without risk. Hence, the fact that he would practice until he got nose bleeds, etc. Onew's and Jonghyun's vocal lessons were often done outside of SM's view and in semisecret.
Jonghyun and Onew have always been two of the best singers in the industry that vocal coaches often use as examples of what you need to strive to emulate in order to be a great singer. Even as rookies, Jonghyun and Onew were vocal coaches and mentors to a lot of SM's trainees, including several of the members of EXO. Onew was one of only two people ever selected to be a trainee by Lee SooMan himself, and he was chosen at age 16 because of his impressive vocal abilities. And, Jonghyun has pretty much been one of the best singers in all of Kpop since his trainee days.
If you notice, Taemin's style of singing, especially in SHINee songs, is a lot like Jonghyun. And the more you get into SHINee, you will see that Taemin fills in for Jonghyun whenever Jonghyun was unable to participate in a performance. And even today, Taemin often takes over the high notes and the parts that I think would probably have been Jonghyun's parts in their new songs -- he has now become one of SHINee's main vocalists.
Therefore, if you watch one of their performances of "Replay" that takes place any time after their debut, you will see that Taemin has taken back his line in the song, and he sings just as much as the other members. (FYI: "Replay" is the song they sing the most out of all their songs. They perform it at almost every live event they attend and in every concert. So, there are hundreds of live performances to choose from. However, they hardly ever perform a song the same way twice, so you never know what you will get with each performance.)
Jonghyun was the one that really took Taemin under his wing and helped him to become the singer and performer that he is today. So, many think that Taemin's voice emulates Jonghyun because he is the one that taught Taemin to sing. Jonghyun always has been Taemin's biggest supporter and the one that rooted for him the hardest and loudest out of anyone.

Everytime you call Minho Papa😂😂😂. I can’t..... It’s so funny. Thank you for liking Jonghyun’s voice and mentioning him. I like your reaction, it’s so funny.
Some of my recommendation: Everybody ( I saw it pass by twice in this video, but you didn’t react to it). For amazing SHINee vocals their live ballads is a must. Such as Farewell my love, Ode to you, Quasimodo, Romantic etc. Powerful songs: Hitchhiking OT5 live, Password, Evil etc.
As of Our page it, is a song when you are ready and truly want to understand their bond. I personally will not recommend for beginner Shawols.

How I interpret the story in SHINee's "Ring Ding Dong" MV is, the song is about a sort of love at first sight and thoughts of that person keep ringing through your head, so much so that you start to become obsessed with them. It's more than just protecting the girl or your love, but it's about wanting to have her all to yourself and not allowing anyone else to come between you, etc. (As the English part of the lyrics says, "Fantastic, elastic ..." because thoughts of that person are constantly bouncing around in your head.)
In the MV, if you notice, at one point, you see all the members dressed in white and they are standing in an all-white room looking into the mirror. However, the image they see in the mirror is not their reflection, but what seems to be their alter ego or inner self because you see their mirror images with brooding expressions and they have wings. But their wings are not white like an angel who is pure and good, they are grey like angels of darkness. So, maybe this is showing how their thoughts are not a pure and innocent love, but one of passion and possession, etc. You see them in the white room with the white clothes because I see that as showing how they are hiding their true selves -- on the outside people think they look innocent and pure, but once you get to know them, they have far less pure intentions. When in their black and red outfits this is more their true selves. The only explanation I can see as to why they are shown lighting the candles without even touching them is a way to make it clear that they are different then what they seem and they may have "magical powers" that can be used to attract the girl and make her theirs, etc.
I interpret the butterfly they talk about in the lyrics, and the ones you see them with in the MV, to represent the girl and how she is beautiful, and fragile and flits around in their life attracting them and distracting them, etc. and they want to capture her and make her theirs.
It is also thought that maybe SM Entertainment is now using the butterfly to connect the storylines between SM's groups. Some theories think that maybe SHINee's black butterfly is connected to the butterfly we see in EXO's debut "Mama" MVs from 2012, which could also be connected to NingNing's butterfly in aespa's storyline from 2020, and the white butterfly could even be connected to the butterfly in NCT-127's "Favorite (Vampire)" MV from 2021, etc. The butterfly is thought to possibly represent the heart of the Tree of Life from EXO's storyline and the white butterfly could be the butterfly that helps aespa navigate through Kwangya in aespa's "ep. 2 'Next Level' -- SM Culture Universe" video, which would help to connect all of SM's groups' storylines together. Although SHINee's storyline may not have originally been designed to connect to anything outside of their group, I think SM has been using things from their older groups' MVs as "happy coincidences" in order to draw everyone into their SM Culture Universe storyline.
Beyond that, I don't really have an explanation of anything else that is happening in the "Ring Ding Dong" MV. Most of it I interpret as just part of the aesthetic of what was the new cool think and what they were doing with MVs in 2009.
The boys' hair and clothing styles and the aesthetic of the MV was supposed to give them more of a bad boy image, to sort of contrast the fact that when they debuted with "Replay" in 2008 they had a boy next door image and they were given the title as the nation's younger boyfriends -- people had a pure and wholesome image of them -- so they wanted to show that as SM's experimental boy group, people should never expect them to stay the same. SHINee will forever be changing up their image to show many different sides of themselves and all different styles of music and dance. "Ring Ding Dong" was showing a new side of SHINee. This was only SHINee's second comeback after debut, so it established their role as the ever changing and evolving group that was expected to keep setting trends and coming up with new concepts, styles and sounds.
Fun Fact: Minho's long hair and Jonghyun's "Lion" hairstyle in "Ring Ding Dong" is such an iconic look. But Minho always hated this hairstyle, LOL. He has never liked having long hair. He begged SM to allow him to cut his hair and it took a few weeks before they would let him do it. They made him wait until they were done promoting this album because their hairstyles were part of the album's concept. And therefore, Minho has refused to ever grow his hair out again. ;P Also, almost all of SM's boy groups had similar hairstyles during this time period. :D Take a look at Super Junior or TVXQ in 2009. Their hair looked like this too. hehehe. This was just sort of the look for Korean entertainers back in the day. SHINee were setting tends even with their hair.
As you discovered, "Ring Ding Dong," is one of SHINee's most popular songs.
This song is part of the era when auto tune was brand new and it was the new cool thing that everyone was using in their new songs. SHINee was ahead of their time when this song came out and it blew people away for its sound and style, which many had never heard before. :D This is totally the look and sound that was just becoming the new it thing back in 2009.
"Ring Ding Dong" is such an iconic song and it's so catchy that it has been said that in Korea this song is banned from being played anywhere or listened to during college entrance exam time. When it first came out, students complained that the song would get stuck in their heads and they couldn't concentrate on their studies or on the test. :D
This is also one of SHINee's iconic choreographies and it is one of the dances that every rookie group in the industry, both boy groups and girl groups, are required to learn and know, and most have covered the song and dance at least once in their career, even still today.
If you want to hear the song without the auto tune then you need to hear them perform it live in concert. Try their live MBC music festival performance of "Ring Ding Dong" in 2016, ruclips.net/video/_lYurocLpi8/видео.html. SHINee's songs are always way different performed live. You will see how SHINee has grown.

With "Don't Call Me," SHINee are just doing what we longtime fans have all come to expect from them -- showing us something that has never been seen or heard before and starting a new trend. Every song you hear and every choreography you see from them should be like nothing they have ever done. They are supposed to reinvent the industry with every comeback. That is why they are constantly raising the bar with everything they do. When it comes to SHINee, it should always feel "very different." That's what makes them SHINee. :D With every new song release, SHINee are expected to come out with a style and sound that is brand new, not only for them, but in the industry as a whole. And "Don't Call Me" is a perfect example of that.
This was SHINee's first comeback in almost 3 years because Onew, Key and Minho had all just recently been discharged from the military. This comeback was a really big deal because it was the first time we had seen SHINee back together in a really long time. A
With this comeback, they set out to outdo themselves within only a few months of their return from the military, and they had to do it all within a couple of months because Taemin was about to enlist. Not only did they have this comeback, but they also had a repackage album comeback with their song "Atlantis", a Japanese album comeback with their song "Superstar," a virtual beyond Live concert and a Japanese fan meeting. And what was even crazier, was that it was all while Taemin was still promoting his solo comeback with his song "Idea", he had a comeback with SuperM's song "We Do" and a follow up solo comeback with his song "Advice," as well as Taemin's solo Beyond Live concert, etc. I mean they were working nonstop. Plus, Minho was filming a drama, Key was back as a cast member on the variety show Amazing Saturday and Onew was involved in other activities.
SHINee are known as one of the few groups that rarely take a break, they are usually busy with one project after another. Therefore, now that Taemin is done with his military service, and they are all officially free to get back to promoting as a group, be prepared to see the SHINee members everywhere, and for multiple projects and activities from them. I predict they will be nonstop busy for the rest of the year.
Onew -- the one with the hoodie -- is the leader of the group and he has one of the most unique voices in the industry. He is the one with the voice that impressed you. He is considered the male vocalist with the most consistent voice. He was one of only two people ever chosen to become a trainee by the founder of SM, Lee SooMan himself, impressing him with his talent when he was only about 17. He is now considered one of the most coveted voices in the industry that can pretty much be paired with anyone regardless of their vocal style or music genre.
Key (The "Master Key", who can unlock all the doors in the entertainment industry with his talent. His real name is Kim Kibum, hence why his stage name is Key.) -- the one with the feather headpiece -- is our fashionista of the group who is SHINee's stylist for a lot of their MVs and stage outfits*. He has even been given the official title of SM's Director of Fashion. He is also SHINee's dance copy machine who is the fastest to memorize choreography. He literally can see a dance for the first time and reproduce it on the spot almost better than the original. He is an amazing singer and is a sub-rapper in the group. He is also SHINee's fluent English speaker. He spent some time studying in Australia and New York when he was in middle school, before become a trainee at about 14, and he said his grandma had an English tutor, so he is almost as good as a native speaker.
*Pearl Aqua is SHINee's fan color, so all the blue/green aqua colors you see in this MV are meant to represent SHINee. That is why in the scene where they are wearing the brown outfits, Key has the aqua yarn woven into his sweater and why the collar of Onew's jacket was dyed aqua, etc.
Minho -- the one with the red hair** -- is the main rapper and visual of the group, but his vocals are also some of the best in the industry. Minho sings just as much as he raps. He also writes most of his own raps in SHINee's songs. He is considered the president of SHINee's fan club, because he is all the members biggest fans. He literally attends all the members solo events and promotes SHINee like a Shawol.
** There has only been a handful of times in the past 15 years that Minho has ever dyed his hair any other color besides brown or auburn, and when he does he only keeps it that way for a few week. :D As you have seen, Minho is a lead actor in a lot of K-dramas and movies, and, when not promoting with SHINee, he is almost always working on his next TV or movie project. So, one of the reasons why I think he doesn't dye his hair as often as other idols, is because of his acting roles. The majority of the roles that he plays are boy next door-type characters or historical dramas, etc. so, he needs to look as average as he can. (Or, at least as average as a guy who was born with model good look anyway ;D) Case in point, he literally dyed his hair for this MV and then dyed it back brown because he was filming a drama, and then he dyed it red again when they started their comeback activities, all within the span of a couple of weeks.
And, Taemin -- the one with the blond highlights and the white bandana -- is considered one of THE BEST dancers in the industry (Kai from EXO, who happens to be Taemin's best friend, and a fellow member of SuperM, is the other top dancer.) The title of best dancer was bestowed on Taemin by his peers and industry experts, so that just goes to show you how good of dancers all the members of SHINee must be. Taemin's nickname is the Korean Michael Jackson for a reason. He is also considered the blueprint for what it takes to be a successful male solo artist, becoming one of the first SM artists who was part of an active group to debut solo in 2014 at the age of 21, making him, yet again, one of the youngest solo artists at the time. He is an idol of most other idols and a legend among legends.
SHINee are one of the top groups that are known for the fact that they all can do it all. They are a group of 5 amazing vocalists, 5 impressive dancers, 5 visuals, 5 rappers, 5 top actors, and 5 of the most talented and unique voices in all of Kpop.
You should also check out SHINee's live performance stage for "Don't Call Me," ruclips.net/video/N3103Su_-cM/видео.html. (If you like the piano in this song, just wait until you see their live performance. The piano becomes even more noteworthy in the live. I won't spoil it, you will just have to watch it to see what I mean. :D)

I'm dying, you released this on the same day we got an adorable photo of Minho holding his friend's baby. Dad vibes? Yes. 😂 Also Onew's name is pronounced "On-you" - it's pretty easy! His real name is Jinki.
Ages at debut in 2008: Onew/Jinki (18, group's leader), Jonghyun (18, four months younger than Onew), Key/Kibum (16), Minho (16, three months younger than Key), and Taemin (14). Taemin just turned 30! He's been in SHINee more than half his life. And they were definitely good right from debut. They were the first group ever to win all of the rookie awards given that year, inventing the term Rookie Grand Slam. Since then only five other groups have done it.
Definitely check out a group guide! They're all really funny guys. And obviously you know about Taemin, but the others are successful soloists at well. After that... live performances, enough to make reaction videos for a year lmao!

You may have noticed that "Sherlock" felt like you were listening to more than one song because it's a special song that combines 2 songs from SHINee's album "Clue" and "Note." That's why the title of this MV is "Sherlock (Clue & Note)" If you were to listen to the album, you would see that they are two separate songs, but when combined they become "Sherlock." So, in the MV you hear the mashup of the two songs.
Therefore, you may notice if you watch a live performance of "Sherlock (Clue & Note)", Minho's whisper part in their live performance is different than what you heard in the MV because when they perform it live, they chose different parts of "Clue" and "Note" to create "Sherlock" each time. So, their performance is never exactly the same, which is one reason why SHINee's concerts are considered one of the best. No matter how many times you have heard a song or seen them perform, you will never get the same thing twice.
In SHINee's "Sherlock (Clue & Note)" MV the boys are Sherlock-like detectives who are looking for clues among the archives and displays in an old museum. The "ghost" girl -- who is played by Jessica Jung, the former member of Girls' Generation, a group that is also part of SM Entertainment -- is helping SHINee solve a mystery by leaving them clues. At the end they realize that the girl they have been seeing and chasing after all day is actually the girl that was originally involved in the mystery when they find an article talking about her from 1910 and they discover that they must have been seeing a ghost.
The room where they have their dance breaks is the main hall of the museum, like a large ballroom in a mansion or great hall, etc. And the compass rose star in the middle of the floor I interpret to represent SHINee who are known as shining stars and as a symbol for how they are navigating the globe as they reach fans all over the world.
In this song and MV SHINee are supposed to be detectives, so the choreography has been designed to give them Sherlock-like poses and to show them investigating clues, and taking photos, etc. That is why they do that Sherlock Holmes-style exaggerated march, and why you see them kneel down and draw a line on the floor, and why they hold their hands out like they are snapping a photo, and they have that move that looks like they are brushing dust from their sleeves, etc.
Fun fact: If you notice, the brand name on the computer was iWatson. Like Sherlock Holmes' sidekick Watson. The computer helped SHINee solve the mystery.
SHINee was actually starting a fashion trend at that time. SHINee are known for being one step ahead when it comes to fashion because they are the ones that start the trends in Korea that eventually influence fashion trends around the world. Fashion designers actually covet a chance to work with SHINee, or any of the members individually for that matter, because they know that if they can get SHINee to wear their clothes that they will become super popular.
And, yes, this was the era of Taemin with long hair. Although, in the MV, Taemin's really long hair was a wig. If you notice, he only has long straight hair during the dance breaks, but during the story sections his hair is much shorter and kind of curly. However, he really did grow his hair long for a while. Taemin with long hair is one of his most iconic looks. I didn't really like Taemin's wig look, but Taemin with naturally long hair is one of my favorites. (He is actually known for making girls jealous because his hair is so perfect.) Many people thing that Taemin with long hair made him look pretty like a girl, but I actually think it's kind of a masculine look on him.
Taemin's hairstyle also made him one of the most popular of the members with their Japanese fans. This was the era when SHINee really started to solidify themselves as Japanese artists, so Taemin's look had Japanese fans gravitating to them. (SHINee debuted in Japan in 2011 and now they are considered one of the most popular artists in Japan as well.)
"Sherlock (Clue & Note)" came out in 2012 -- 4 years after their debut with "Replay." So Taemin is now 18 in this MV. Onew is 22, Jonghyun is 21 and Key and Minho are 20.
The choreography for "Sherlock (Clue & Note)" was created by Tony Testa a very well-known "Hollywood"-famous American choreographer who has also worked with some of the most famous artists, productions and dancers in the world, including Michael Jackson. "Sherlock" was the first time SM (or pretty much anyone in the Kpop industry) had ever used a famous choreographer, and at the time, it was the most expensive Kpop production ever. Once again, SHINee were trendsetters and, because of SHINee's skill level, SM became the first to see the value in using a well-known choreographer to help create their dances and to strive for a level of choreography and video production that surpassed anything that had ever been done before. (Now, SHINee -- and numerous SM groups -- have worked with Tony Testa multiple times over the years.) Today it's common place for Kpop companies to have really famous in-house choreographers, and to seek out people in the industry who are really making a name for themselves to choreograph for them, but SHINee was one of the first.
If you want to see the choreography even better, you should check out SHINee's "Sherlock" dance practice video, or better yet, one of their live concert performances of "Sherlock (Clue & Note)." I recommend their SHINee World Concert IV (SWC4) in Seoul performance from 2015, ruclips.net/video/M4pINahBoRY/видео.html. If you think the MV is good, just wait until you see them perform it live. "Sherlock (Clue & Note)" live is on a whole other level.

Minho's nickname is actually flaming charisma...that man is surely fiery and hot hot hot. He is also super competitive mainly because he is into a lot of sports. His faves are soccer basketball and lately golf. He is even an ambassador for soccer in korea🤣 you say sports in Kpop and Minho's name will probably be the top name to be mentioned. When it was time to enlist he chose the most difficult one, the marines and to add to that he also became a paratrooper. That man can pep talk himself into doing a lot of amazing things. But he also have another nickname, "choi tenderheart" because he is just the sweetest. He is so sweet to the fans and is just the most loving brother to the other members. There is a running joke in the fandom that Minho has more then 24 hours in his day because despite being super busy as an idol and as an actor, he ALWAYS, finds time to support the other members' activities personally, and has the time to watch all their other shows. Plus he is also known as one of the best idols with kids. So yeah, the man is just a walking duality😍 I love him to pieces.

SHINEE debuted in 2008. Shinee is considered "The Princes of K-pop" for their perfect harmonies, classy dance moves, and trend-setting fashion. The group is composed of four members: Onew, Key, Minho, and Taemin. Originally a five-piece group, main vocalist Jonghyun passed away suddenly in December 2017.
Some songs/MV's to listen to from my list-- older list:
    1 - Ring Ding Dong
    2 - Lucifer
    3 - Shinee Girl
    4 - Sherlock
    NEWER:
    5 - Hard
    6 - Juice
    7 - The Feeling
    5 - Don't Call Me
    6 - Atlantis
    7 - C.O.D.E.
    8 - Heart Attack
    9 - Marry Me
They each have solo releases too, of which Taemin is the most prolific and is considered the "MJ" of K-pop. Just watching him perform is proof. He also did a mesmerizing dance collaboration with Jimin of BTS at an awards show; you can see it on RUclips.
    Songs/MV's:
1 - Advice (1of the best song/MV's of his... Newest)
    2 - Criminal
    3 - Idea
    4 - Move
    Min-ho:
    1 - HeartBreak
    2 - I'm Home
    3 - Chase
    Onew:
    1 - Blue
    2 - Dice
3 - Nessun Dorma (opera shows how powerful his voice is)
    4 - O - CIRCLE
    Key:
    1- Bad Love
    2 - Gasoline
    3 - Hate That....
    4 - Forever Yours

Because Taemin is also a member of SuperM, I think SHINee's "Don't Call Me" MV and Fake Reality teaser is SM's way of drawing SHINee into the SM Universe and fully connecting SHINee to SuperM's/EXO's storyline. Hence, Minho's red hair and the red room with the chairs hanging from the ceiling. I think this might be connected in some way to the Red Force -- which is the evil group or being in EXO's storyline -- and EXO's/SuperM's storyline. Although I have not worked out what it all means yet. (In EXO's storyline when we see red objects or red light this usually means this is something being controlled by the Red Force.)
Therefore, most of SM's groups have storylines that connect. For example, I see connections between EXO, SuperM, aespa and SHINee with the fact that we see SuperM riding on a subway train in their "100" MV and we see aespa in the subway in their debut "Black Mamba" MV, and now we see SHINee also in a train station in "Don't Call Me." And most recently, we saw Baekhyun from EXO/SuperM on an old train in his solo "Bambi" MV. We even see Kai from EXO/SuperM on train tracks and people on a subway train platform in his "Film: Kai" solo debut teaser video during his "Amnesia" section of the video and as it transitions to "Mmmh." We also see Key from SHINee in a subway train in his solo debut "One of Those Nights" MV. And if we go back even further, you see EXO on train tracks in their "Love Me Right" MV and EXO-CBX (which Baekhyun is also a member of) on train tracks in their "Horololo" MV, etc.
The train station/subway platform in "Don't Call Me" also is given a very futuristic EXO-like feel with the view of space and the planets in the sky when you see SHINee dancing on the train platform.
The scene with Key in the red outfit standing on the phone booth submerged in water, looks like it could have something to do with the Red Force as well. And it also looks very similar to the scene with Taeyeon, from Girls' Generation, standing on the rock in the middle of the Ocean in Key's solo "Hate That ..." MV. Taeyeon is even wearing the same color red dress, in "Hate That ...," and both Key and her have very similar styles and poses. And now, it also looks like this could be connected to SHINee's new "Hard" MV storyline, with Minho standing on the rock wearing a red jacket, with a vibe very similar to this as well.
We also see in that scene with Key standing on the phone booth in "Don't Call Me," him dressed in his black outfit with the feather headpiece standing in front of the image of himself, which looks as though this could be showing him in an alternate reality -- or a "fake reality."
Then in the next scene, it looks as though the SHINee members go through some sort of wormhole as they are teleported somewhere and we see them all posing in their black outfits. This looks very similar to the scene in SuperM's debut "Jopping" MV. When the SuperM members are coming together at the beginning of "Jopping," they are each teleported through space, which looks very similar to that scene with the black wall with stars in "Don't Call Me."
Therefore, because the members of SuperM are supposed to be coming together to help EXO fight the Red Force and to prevent or stop them from taking over the world, etc., I think SM is setting it up so that all of its groups' members will eventually be brought into the fight.
If you follow EXO's storyline, in EXO's "Obsession" MV we learn that the good guys are the members in the all-black outfits, and in "Jopping" we see SuperM's "Avengers uniform" is similar all black outfits. So, in the scene in "Don't Call Me," when we see SHINee all together in those black outfits, it looks as though they might be preparing to join in the fight.

That is why I think that even though SHINee are part of the second generation, that SM is now working on bringing them into the storyline. And although most of SM's older groups' concepts and MVs may have never been originally designed to have any type of connection to anything to do with anything, that doesn't necessarily mean that over the years as EXO's story has evolved or SM's Universe concept was being created, that SM didn't find "happy coincidences" within those MVs that allowed them to use them as a way to connect things together. I mean we see what looks like the pink planet from Super Junior's "House Party" MV and a scene from Super Junior-K.R.Y.'s "When We Were Us" MV from 2020 in "aespa's ep.1 - SM Culture Universe" video. And SM has even brought Kangta, who is a member of the very first Kpop boy group H.O.T., which debuted in 1996, into the storyline with his solo MV remake of H.O.T's song "Free to Fly," which looks like they are on another planet in the MV and it featured Winter from aespa and Sungchan who is a former member of NCT, now SM's new boy group RIIZE, in the story. Changmin from TVXQ was also brought into the story in 2022 with his song "Devil," as the MV shows him on a pink planet and he talks about Kwangya in the song lyrics. And even more recently, BoA, who is a solo artist, became a villain within aespa's storyline. And U-Know from TVXQ's new "Nexus, Reality Show" MV is centered around a futuristic world where he spends a lot of time within the virtual realm with Karina from aespa playing an AI character that helps U-Know.
