I have daughters the same age as yourself and i thoroughly enjoy all your videos. Why? Because you're authentic, with a refreshing honesty in everything you do. Your meal ideas are brilliant on a small budget and you should give yourself a good pat on the back for it. You're clearly a grafter and someone with guts and courage, and not afraid to try things, even if it doesn't work out. thats why i watch, my type of person, and what i encouraged in my own daughters too ! x

I like your shopping, cooking, homegrown veg and herbs, that food you made looks nice. love your cat. You're looking great, on top of things! Note: Breadcrumbs freeze perfectly and can be used from the freezer - its easy to break off a bit without needing to defrost all of it. I often make a good bunch up when I've stale bread and freeze it to help make food faster. (If I've to prep everything, sometimes that stops me making a healthy meal, so I'm always looking for short cuts for future me!)

Oh yes a video idea. I love Linzertorte which is a Jammy tart with a nutty crust. Most recipes use twice the flour to nuts, but that was too floury for me so I reversed the proportions and ended up with something for nut lovers everywhere. rather than bothering with a big pie I made round cookies with a thumb stuck into it a la Jack Horner (heart shaped for Lovey Dovey Day). and use your favorite jam or preserve or jelly. And the Recipe is
2 cups of chopped nuts. 1 cup flour. Sugar to taste (half cupish). 110 grams Softened butter (8 Oz. quarter pound) Pinch Nutmeg (or any spice you like) and one egg yolk. Form the Balls, make a hole, put some jam in. use the egg white, beaten for a simple egg wash. Bake at 180C (350F) til golden brown on the bottom (around 10-15 Minutes) And Bob's your Apple.
I hope this tempts you, at least to make them for yourself, (I hope you don't have any nut allergies). All the best Jacques Mexico

Hi Rechenda. It's nitrites (with an "i") rather than nitrates we need to be mindful of. Nitrates are relatively inert, which means they're stable and unlikely to cause harm. Nitrites are the "baddies" used as preservatives in processed meats. You can buy nitrite-free versions of both, but they are expensive. Pleased you're feeling better x

Fellow Foodie, I'm pleased you're feeling better and are actively trying to maintain the upward curve of healthfulness.
In all the food details I have neglected to mention the co-star and scene stealer of your show, Mimi (ironically this is my mother-in-law's nickname for ME hehehe) We have had many animals over the years but now we just let the neighborhood cats come in, have a bite to eat and they sometimes stay the night but then go back to their 'other' homes. They come back with different bows etc. I encourage our cats to vocalize.

Lasts ages in the fridge, worth a try.

I will be making that carrot and lentil pie mixture into a veggie pasty, in a short while. It never occurred to me to cook the lentils and the carrots together and I have both of the items - really inspirational stuff.
