Hello Ru. (and Jack). When making homemade bread or tortillas if you include a bit of potato or the postato water you saved (with the starch at the bottom) it acts as a natural Preservative to extend the life of your baked goods. Potato starch is perfectly edible. The Mortar is the bowl and the pestle is the grinding STICK.

The easiest way to make beadcrumbs is to either put it in the oven or toast it, let it cool down. Grate, blend or bang the toast to break it down! Adding garlic salt or olive oil is lovely too. Makes the beadcrumbs more flavoufull! The dried flavoured bread make delicious croutons too!

Grinding chia seeds in your Nutribullet will make them easier to use for thickening or as 'chia eggs' for baking. I grind some up once a week to add to my porridge and smoothies. I usually add linseed/flax to the mix as they're also very nutritious (and cheap). The mix is best stored in the fridge. Good luck with your challenge! You certainly have great creativity and a positive attitude, so with consistency, you'll succeed.

    Hi Rechenda,
Looking to make budget cuts too, came across your video been binge watching.
    Some great ideas.
Have a 19 year old tuxedo cat too, Tink she tolerates me & I love her ♡
A tip for making bread crumbs is get your bog standard grater & grate it, & your cheese goes SO much futher if you grate it, or use a regular vegetable peeler & peel slices off, Im sure there are more things that you could peel with it too, your creatively could probably think of more : 》
Also please, please, dont use lard SO bad for your arteries, you can get cheeper bottles of olive oil or other natural oils, which are SO much better for you.
I think investing in your heatlh is the very best thing you can invest in, as whats the point of working really hard to get the things you need if your not here to enjoy them!
I buy the cheepest or on offer natural bottled oils, lasts me ages, so works out very good value for money, a little bit of the cheapest butter or even a spray light if its on offer.
And a great natural sweetener in everthing is honey, I get the cheapest jar lasts forever, & apparinty never goes off!
Recently brought one of the cheapest air fryers on Amazon, found it a god send, less cooking time, electricity, loads less wahing up, the parchment inserts to fit were very cheap on Amazon & last ages, you screw that up & throw it away, instead of having a pan to wash up fantastic! Anything you can cook in an oven you can cook in the air fryer, yes even cakes!
Hope these tips are helpful. Thank you for all your tips & super stumbled on recipes. ♡

Great experiment. Here's some feedback and a recipe tip. Keep your camera steady. I am one of many people who get dizzy and a bit nauseous by too much fast zooming in and out. I am also someone who does not like background music. I find it unnecessary and distracting and either click away or turn the volume down as much as possible to fade out the background music, if I am interested enough to keep watching. Here's the recipe tip for roesti/hash browns: peel your potatoes, boil them, drain, let cool (preferably overnight). Shred on the coarse side of the shredder, add some salt and onion powder. Fry. If you have a Belgian waffle iron like me, fry them without oil in the waffle iron. Super easy, fast and delish. Eat with ketchup or apple sauce. Keep up the good work 👏 👍

@BudgetFoodieUK the kids are so fussy hard find recipies all 4 like. My 2 teenage daughters will eat veggie options. Husband loves meat but he's currently on a diet so says he fend for himself. We have 13 days to next pay day . Stock taked what I have freezer/ cupboards think meals for me could be what already have. Have week off work so might try searching as many yellow sticker items. Trying to reduced food down to £100 per week. Budgeting 25 household £25 bathroom and £20 pet as dog has loads treats left over from Christmas still. Like you want to pay off credit cards/ overdraft food is the only variable. In addition to 7 nights dinners I make 15 packed lunches for kids per week it's lunches and snacks that really add up.

@BudgetFoodieUK well no reduced in lilds or morrisions this morning but lucked out in Iceland 3packs lean mince and 1 pack chicken fillets for£7 as used eldest discount card 15% off reduced items. Doing Mexican night faittas and tacos for whole family tonight as treat. Doing spaghetti bol tue and freezing 3rd pack mince for slow cooker chilli for final March week. Have loads reduced garlic bread/ pizzas and sausages in freezer from lilds. 8 30 best time lidls as 60% off fresh and sometimes £1.50 fruit / veg box. My local aldi seldom ever has reductions. Sounds odd as expensive lots items but tesco express and sainsbury local sometimes take 50% off late morning or lunchtime mire chance getting reduced there than the larger supermarkets. Have you tried too good to go or olio both can be fab just not much choice locally as I am a city centre suburb.

You can use the starch from potato water for cooking. Just get rid of the water and dry the starch. Or cook a stew and add the potato water with the starch to it to make it thicker.

Hi, you probably found out by now, but for the nut milk, you ain't supposed to mix them with the soaking water. This is meant to drain the nuts from chemicals and such. Like legumes, you should replace it with fresh water before mixing it.

    • @xXHealingSerenityXx
      @xXHealingSerenityXx 20 дней назад

@@BudgetFoodieUK for nut milk I drain the nuts from the soaking water, wash them and add fresh water and a little salt and a sweetener source (usually I use Dates). You can also do the lazy version, just mixing up water with nut butter, which skips the steps of soaking over night and draining. For oatmilk I just use the same things but put in dry oats. I don't soak the oats but Vitamix is a very strong mixer. It never leaves any pulp. This way I need less nuts and less oats, but has all the fibre in it too.
