Considering how controlling and vile Jim Bob is, it would not be a suprise to later find out that it was really Jim Bob who created that extremely pathetic Mother's Day post on Janna's Instagram account. And, Jim Bob's deflection tactics are not working for more and more folks are figuring out what Jim Bob is up to and are not beliving his vile bs crap anymore. I have never believed that Jana was even remotely responsible for what happened to Mariela . They made Jana take the fall for Anna’s lack of parenting. I think Anna was passed out asleep or had her older children babysitting and she slipped out the door. Do you remember when they lost Jackson at the airport way back when and they blamed the whole thing on poor Jana ? She is the whipping post of that family. They didn’t need Anna giving the authorities any reason to investigate those poor children of hers… think about it. …..

My sister at the age of two walked right out the ront door. The house was full of adults and other kids. We never saw her leave. We didn't even know she could open the door! Thank God a neighbor was washing his car and grabbed her. Would we all have been arrested and called neglectful ?

Jana was the mom to all her sisters, and now she’s the grandma to her sister’s children. It’s usually the grandmother who babysits and helps her children set up household’s as they reach adulthood!
What I thought was the saddest about the slumber party video is that it was plainly obvious that Josie can't read at 14! Joy read all of Josie's cards for her.

Yes the lack of education for all of them is startling. Josie has no hope but to be a wife and then her kids will be even less educated
I noticed that also. I do believe Josie was born with some developmental disabilities because of her being born premature. It seems very obvious that her parents are not getting her the help that she needs.
And can you imagine the impact of that "encouragement" (@buse) on a developmentally disabled child? 😱
Jim-Bob lied he said after marriage his daughters our under their husbands rules but he still tries to control them. Jana should be on her own. Wish we would go live with Jinger far from him
Jana needs to find her own identity. Helping others is commendable but she needs to concentrate on who she is what she wants and needs. Shame on her parents for not letting her have wings to fly.

Did anyone ever read “Like Water for Chocolate?” Jana’s life reminds me of the main character’s life. Tita was the youngest daughter and her mother said she could never marry and take care of her mother the rest of her life. Even when her mother died, she was haunted by her. It’s a great book, but very sad.

I have noticed in the last year or so that Jana seems to look unhapy. She is still beautiful but looks a little worn down. She does not have a good education she does not appear to have financial resources, I think she is somewhat stuck living at home. She was never made to believe she was capable of success. It is very sad.
I can't even imagine being almost 35 and still being treated & controlled like a kid with no fiances or a back bone to stand on...I've always felt so bad for her when I watched the show over the years. I want her to have her happy ending or find someone who loves her like her sisters :(

@@kelseyspringer7708worst is I believe that her dad knows and won’t “find her a match” so to speak because her not being “pure” - and it would cause issues. It would bring attention or her trauma would surface and whoever she’s with would find out.
I listened to Jill’s book. I was/am APPALLED at JB’s shadiness.
JimBob and Michele creeper me out from the beginning.. My gut was not wrong. Remember when JimBob's dad died? He moved his mom in. Many people do that in order to support the widow(er), but there was something about it that seemed like he had taken control of her. Michelle commented how she was responsible for the laundry. I mean come on. One might say that was how she chose to help out, but it was starting to be revealed the creepy nature of the family, so I think she felt forced to do this. It was sad to watch.
Why isn't Jim Bob not in prison yet? Let the adult kids live their lives? Massive control freak.

It takes a lot of strength to leave that cult. My little church was in the SBC. They were wanting to go IBLP. My dad wanted me to marry a Duggar boy, since we live in Arkansas. After I was SA’d by the preacher’s son, I wasn’t “Holy” enough. My dad covered it up.
Also, she’s there because she has nothing else to do right?! That’s very sad.
I was raised in a home where we were sort of shielded from the violence. Mom never agreed with it, but she never left. But she witnessed the physical and verbal abuse and nothing happened.

I always thought that Jana moved into her little trailer behind the main house because she was ordered not to live with Anna’s tiny tots after Maryella went AWOL. That was just my thought, I didn’t hear that anywhere. I feel really bad for her, but I have to wonder if Jana feels badly about her own situation.

Ben said that he wasn't very good with his hands and he helped tutoring Michelle's kids for a while and didn't see himself selling cars or anything so he decided to be a minister! He said he was helped by other pastors and now has a church of his own and has 80 members! I made a comment that Jessa apparently does not take the minister's wife role very seriously because she would be having prayer groups and luncheons and other duties as a pastor's wife! I was attacked by a few of their fans! I told them our minister's wife was under more stress than her husband and she took it for years and then just couldn't do it anymore! Jessa was not very verbal about his church or the church members! She never said anything about what he did! There is no way he is making any money with 80 members! On Joy's last vlog they were taking a train ride and she said Jessa and Ben and the kids were supposed to be there and her mother too! She didn't show anyone! Ben is a real loser! What does he do all day? Jim Bob must pay their bills! Most ministers work another job during the week!

Something big is holding Jana back. Either something that happened(abuse) or something private about herself that IBLP wouldn’t tolerate. If she were in a “normal” family, she would be out on her own single or not! It’s her choice how she lives her life. To be honest, I hate this. Beautiful woman who could do and believe what they want, and a father whom has to control them because... Yeah, why? Because his ego told him so? Because he is afraid, that his daughters will not longer believe, what he believes? He always has his sons.

It could be a trauma response but from what I’ve heard, she had several opportunities to get married but Jim Bob ended each opportunity for her. The fact she is the oldest daughter and still not married makes me question a lot of things. She’s almost like a second wife for Jim Bob.
Jana could make a fortune if she pitched a show of her moving out on her own for the first time or even if she wrote a book. Plus, she's very skilled at many things if she didn't want to go that route. Jana could be very prosperous & happy if she controlled her own life.

Jana, Jana, Jana….why is it that your younger sister Joy-Anna gets it, but you still don’t? I’m so happy that Joy-Anna gets it and has told everyone on social media that she does. I’m still not understanding why she hasn’t picked up on this. Soon she won’t be able to have children of her own, unless she finds a guy that really wants to take on her idiot of a father. I’ll always be praying for her.
Jana looks very happy and what she is doing to help all of her brothers and sisters is actually commendable, but it is sad that she is not getting to have her own family and life like they are. One day, she will be just the old aunt and her opportunities will be gone. Her siblings will be having grandchildren and she will be just watching. At age 34, she is running out of years to have any children of her own- if she is able to. I've often wondered if there is a problem in that area that keeps her from getting into a marriage and having children.
One of the brothers joked on an episode that people thought she was a boy or something along those lines.

Speaking of Michelle, remember it was Jana who gave CPR to little Josie and saved her life after she had a seizure and went unconscious. Yup, Dad & Mom were off on a trip while the older kids took care of the little ones. Josie is alive because of her sister's quick thinking and help.
Also, I cringe at the memory that Josh and Anna were asked to help care for the little ones right after Josie was born and was in the NICU (before the whole family moved into an apartment for several months while Josie was in the hospital, as a newborn). Sure hope nothing happened with Josh and his younger siblings! 🤦🏼♀️😠

Every time I hear about Jana's child neglect charge, I feel so sad for her.
Legally, It is what it is as those kids were in her care.
