Do you know how this wader differs in terms of material used with the new 2018 g3 waders? Both use a “new” goretex pro shell and both use a 4-layer lower and 3-layer upper. So do the G4’s use a “better” gore than the g3 or is it the exact same? Can’t same to find this info online

I have previous g4z model (5 layer lower part), yes its bulky and heavy, but warm and crazy durable.
Excellent for fishing in about freezing temperature.
Do you feel that new model has the same level of durability with only 4 layer construction?
I do - I think the recent advancements in the Gore Tex material has enabled them to make this wader more comfortable/breathable with the same durability.
Yeah, they look nice but I bought the older model of the G4Z not too long ago and indeed they are heavy and bulky. Most of all, they are wicked expensive so not even close to dropping another $800+ on another pair, no matter how much Simms has improved these.
Oh yeah - those will go a long way for you no doubt.
What jacket is that ?
Believe I was wearing the Simms Kinetic jacket that day. Discontinued now .

Great waders unaffordable for most tho, material is the same with a great zipper
The GORE-TEX in this G4Z is updated from previous models of G4 and G3 waders. More durable, more breathable, etc.
They should be 400 or less to much for walking trails
After 2016 Simms wadders suck. Leaks sooner than with previous models.
So your boot get wet no matter what thats kinda dumb
