His father is from Nigeria and his mother is from Grenada. It is a tribute to his parents and it is wonderful. This was actually the song that made me a fan. I was in the bookstore around Christmas and they tended to play new music, I asked the clerk who was it, bought the CD (dating myself) and became hooked. And fact "the trio" grew up a few miles from me makes me even more proud. Kevin is not of this world (actually, none of them are). Love this arrangement to pieces.👏👏👏
The best version of this song, is a very classic song, but the give the messaged with a lot of joy, a church vibe, and with that African vibe, is a celebration, i love that all Pentatonix and the choir all show joy and happiness.
Kevin's father is from Nigeria and his Mother is from Grenada. Avi and Kevin decided to honor the Olusola's heritage with this fabulous rendition. Those two gave us an epic arrangement. I absolutely cannot get enough of Avi.
This is definitely epic and one of my favs. The most amazing thing is that Pentatonix rethinks and personalizes song after song as well as their outstanding originals. Some groups have a few good songs and the rest are okay, but Pentatonix is in a special few groups that have a Very deep catalog and it is all innovative and fantastic Love your reactions. You definitely liked their uplifting take on this classic. ❤❤❤❤❤
My understanding is Kevin did the arrangement of this song to pay tribute to his parents that are from I think One, Nigerian & I’m sorry don’t remember the other country. But he did an amazing job! Kevin, the musical genius ❤️
Its a longer video, but i highly recommend you watch/react to their "Recording of Evergreen" its a behind the scenes short film that covers some of the process that goes into making that christmas album, and you'll see some of how they record Kevin's body percussion and beatboxing.
Man !! I love this Pentatonix song with african vibes, so good !! You have to listen to Avi solo music ... If you do, check his first released solo, Change on the rise... This one is epic too !! Thanks 😘
I'm not sure how this one was filmed. Typically, #Pentatonix makes a studio recording and then lip-synchs to that in the official video, but when they're collaborating with other artists I'm not sure how they handle it. Certainly OneVoice didn't record their part in Pentatonix's studio, though they may have recorded in a local studio. For that matter, I'm certain that the video for "Jolene" was a live recording, because of their description of working with Dolly Parton.
The ONLY way this song should be done!! I can’t even imagine how fun it would have been to be in that choir. So jealous…..😋 If you aren’t moving, clapping and/or smiling with joy as you’re listening to this, you must be some variety of inanimate object. 😁
Best version EVER!!!! Complete Joy!!
I can't imagine another version ever surpassing this one.

The most joyful and joyous version of this song that has ever been made. THIS is the way this song should be sung.
I totally agree. You just can NOT be downhearted when you hear this!

I love this Pentatonix video. Their arrangement and execution of it sound so good. Thank you for reacting to it. Happy that you liked it.
Man, when that choir comes in I tear up every single time…and again at that last key change 😆

Yes, but, due to spoilers, he should react to their version of The Prayer first.

Just WOW
Recommend their cover of Mad World.
Can't hardly hear it in my head the old boring way anymore.
