- Can I beat Pokémon Scarlet with Hardcore Nuzlocke rules - using ONLY Monkey pokemon? (No items, No overleveling, Set mode)
HARDCORE NUZLOCKE RULES:
1. Only one Monkey Pokemon per area
2. If a Pokemon faints it must be boxed
3. I cannot overlevel beyond the Gym leaders ace
4. Must play on set mode
5. No items in battle (held items are okay)
6. No duplicate species can be caught
7. Must nickname Pokemon

They nerfed Rillaboom so hard. No grassy slide. That hurts him so much. Rillaboom was a hart counter to choice scarf Kyogre. But now. Tera Kyogre is going to run wild in competitive
Idk if meowscarada will be able to replicate that power either in gen 9.

@@20kdi Meowscarada has no priority move. So you are forced to run scarf Meowscarada to counter Kyogre. Kyogre doesn't care about scarf. Water Spout is so strong it will OHK most things on the field. Rillaboom was the way to go. Now you have to use a Pokemon on your team that has weather control. Which limits your team building options.

@@Squirtle_Squad_Supremacy What does sucker punch do against Kyogre? Grassy slide was a PRIORITY GRASS move. Nobody cares about quick attack or sucker punch
Sloths are actually related to anteaters and armadillos even though they resemble apes more than them. But this was a fun run!
Slakoth is a wild pokemon because technically it goes from a sloth to a monkey to a gorilla so...
To be fair, a few of my encounters weren't technically monkeys. But they were close enough that I still made a video :)

Grafaiai is specifically based on an aye-aye, one of the most unique lemurs out there. I do notice some ring-tailed lemur elements on his tail though.

I like the idea of this run for sure. Maybe just leave out Wailord, Palafin, and Cetitan from the list. I get that cetacians are closely related to ungulates, but it doesn't feel right... like using birds in a reptile only run

They are not just closely related to ungulates, they are ungulates. Their closest relatives are hippos, and they are closer related to cows than cows are to horses and rhinos. Just because their feet evolved into fins doesn’t mean they shouldn’t be included.
And since reptiles are not a monophyletic group I wouldn’t include birds either, otherwise mammals would be included too wich would turn the reptile run into an amniote run. But since all Pokémon lay amniotic eggs that would be very confusing. ;)
I wonder if archeops (and other dinosaurs) would be included though, because it has some traits that are not very reptile like while others are. But I would definitely include birds into a sauropsid run.

Scarlet and Violet have evolved into my favourite games in the entire franchise, only behind Platinum and HG/SS!

Slakoth who is a sloth and slaking who (like rillaboom) is a gorilla get a pass because vigoroth is LITERALLY called the wild monkey pokemon and then obviously anihalape and primape because of mankey.
