I have memories of listening to Zombie Love Song way back in the day, which I think speaks -- if only slightly -- to its quality, because the rest of their songs have either left no impact on me or have been summarily repressed.
The Mike Posner "feature" was a remix of his song authorised by his label. Mike's song is terrible, so so is this. As for My Balls (Alt Rock), it's a cover of their own song that is way worse than the original. The project didn't end because of the quality of the songs, though. It ended because of abuse from Maker Studios, the same abuse that caused their music to dip in quality. They had a lot of potential, but it had to be a new song either every week or every fortnight. Eventually they couldn't take it anymore and just gave up. Maker kept the rights because it's a corporation dedicated to making money, even when it hurts the creators who made them that money.
Nah, whilst I sympathise that they were treated poorly, they were never going to produce anything of value. A dip in quality? it was never good to begin with. RWJ's voice & writing are just terrible
@@ThePhantom4516 I disagree, I think Ray's pretty damn good considering. He always gives it his all and his lyrics can be clever and flow well. It's not high art or anything, but it's enjoyable music that sounds good.
I think it's fine to acknowledge how shit some songs are and at the same time enjoy them in a "guilty pleasure" way. But hard agree on how the quality dropped off towards the end. In any case, I'd be really curious what you think about the new songs he released recently, and Ill keep enjoying the ones I do. I really liked your take on the whole thing
This might be a hot take, but even though YFM's attempts at humor fall flat more often than not, I think they're pretty good at writing hooks and choruses.
i feel like jupiter is so good because it doesn’t sound like a YFM song. like, take any other song and you get an unbelievably offensive video with subpar visuals and RWJ’s sometimes unbearable voice, but Jupiter seems like an actual song, like it seems like something daft punk would of produced
as much as i despise yfm, i have like, 3 things i kinda like about them 1. the drummer's character design is pretty alright 2. the tig ol bitties chorus is kinda catchy 3. the first speaking part of the sterotype song is very funny to me for some reason. not the actual song, just what ray says before the music starts
I've got bad news for you, RWJ has made a comeback with the RUclips Shorts and he's having millions of views again. I know...it sounds like a joke, but it isn't.
It’s sad when some of their “best” songs, like Just A Friend, are straight up covers of existing songs. That being said, WOW, that Love the Way You Lie cover is one of the worst things I’ve ever heard
agreed i don't care if your favorite martian is cringe now i still fucking love their music and will continue to listen to the tracks because i can do what ever the HELL I WANT
I just realized brad watched these on his channel instead of a guest account screwing up his recommendations. Bigger balls than me if I was to do this video concept.
I was a huge RWJ fan back when I was like 12 and I was super into a few of these YFM songs. Some I hated even then, but I have nostalgia for some of the ones I liked. I think the thing is... You're exactly right. This is for edgy 12 year old boys. But I think they knew that. RWJ knew his audience. He was making this shit for edgy kids who were outcasts. Its not really meant to be profound or good lol. And its very of its time, which hurts it a decade later.
thanks to your videos i've discovered ajr - woody allen and me and my brother cannot stop listening to the intro and i cannot stop crying of laughter so thank you
“I should hate this but I’m entertained” is basically a perfect descriptor of your favorite martian. It’s terrible. It’s awful. It’s offense… and yet… there’s something remarkable about the specific ways it’s terrible
After seeing this I decided to listen to Take Over Da World Honestly the first time I listened to it in full I found the chorus obnoxious but I actually liked the rest of the song Then I listened to it a few more times and it grew on me a lot I genuinely enjoy a lot of awful music so I'd rate it a personal 9/10 and from a less personal and more objective standpoint probably a 5/10, 7/10 with a less obnoxious chorus
I was so happily surprised to see this be a topic of a video, considering both Equals Three and YFM were a part of my young zillenial internet upbringing. Some of these songs I haven’t heard in years, and yet they came back just like that! I mean, they’re all absolutely terrible and I cannot believe that some of these tracks even exist, but WOW the nostalgia! Tbh, I still kinda fukc with Club Villian. It was the only one of those “reference a bunch of shit” songs that actually felt fun for me, and DeStorm’s feature was the best of any YFM feature I’ve heard. The absolute WORST is the Stereotype Song. Even Phobic Techno is kind of hilarious to sing in ironic hindsight (for context, I am trans), but Stereotype song is just…… uuuuuuggghhh…. Great Video Bradlo :) loving these reaction vids
9:48 That might have something to do with the fact that that particular song became a meme a couple of years ago, so a lot more people who weren't fans of it probably had exposure to it than normal.

I'll admit some of these songs are a guilty pleasure for me. This isn't McDonald's of music. This is the deep fried Oreo of music. Judge me all you wish. You're not wrong.
That FFYR one is such a spit on MCA's grave it hurts, I thought YFM was ok and funny for a few songs but when I listened to most of the tracks it hurt more and more to hear them. Can't believe you survived the torture lol, I couldn't handle half of it.

For one, he isn’t a winged insect like them
YFM is the music equivalent of the moldy cheese from Dairy of a Wimpy Kid
I don't think so
Fun fact, this is a re creation of the torture in the twelfth layer of hell
Please consider an Epic Rap Battles tier list.
I watched YFM music videos as a kid and would very much like them to stay in the early 2010s/late 2000s where they belong.
I have memories of listening to Zombie Love Song way back in the day, which I think speaks -- if only slightly -- to its quality, because the rest of their songs have either left no impact on me or have been summarily repressed.
fun fact, the cancelled your favorite martian album featured mike shinoda of linkin park, snoop dogg, and miley cyrus (yes, really)
Ah shit dude, I love Gorillaz
Lmfao
20:00 the only good santa diss track is “im gonna kill santa claus” by danny gonzales
@@ThePhantom4516 omg they are legit meme songs stop digging ure in china my guy they were catchy toons ure hating just shows ure ignorance
i think Molester Moon might be better tbh
I think it's fine to acknowledge how shit some songs are and at the same time enjoy them in a "guilty pleasure" way. But hard agree on how the quality dropped off towards the end. In any case, I'd be really curious what you think about the new songs he released recently, and Ill keep enjoying the ones I do. I really liked your take on the whole thing
This might be a hot take, but even though YFM's attempts at humor fall flat more often than not, I think they're pretty good at writing hooks and choruses.
I will always say that Jupiter is an amazing song. They didn’t age well but Jupiter is an absolute banger. One of my legit favorite songs of all time.
Jupiter was my favourite song by them when I was a weird kid that liked YFM.
i feel like jupiter is so good because it doesn’t sound like a YFM song. like, take any other song and you get an unbelievably offensive video with subpar visuals and RWJ’s sometimes unbearable voice, but Jupiter seems like an actual song, like it seems like something daft punk would of produced
Bro?
jupiter is an s tier Martian song. i will always love it
Its hot garbage and thats why i love it. Too much nostalgia for me to hate it
I think this perfectly sums it up
Exactly this
Nostalgia is the only thing stopping me from disliking it
as much as i despise yfm, i have like, 3 things i kinda like about them
1. the drummer's character design is pretty alright
2. the tig ol bitties chorus is kinda catchy
3. the first speaking part of the sterotype song is very funny to me for some reason. not the actual song, just what ray says before the music starts
Love seeing this video pop up - Thanks Brad
Also Zombie love song slaps
"i'm getting this really neurodivergent fuckin ridiculous feeling from all this crap" ahaha quote of the decade so far
As someone who grew up on your favourite Martian, this hurts my soul to even read the title
It genuinely worries me we live in a world where people thought Ray William Johnson was funny
Some of YFM's song are funny in a ironic way. "Mr Douchebag" being a good example of such song.
equals three was quite a nice format ...
I've got bad news for you, RWJ has made a comeback with the RUclips Shorts and he's having millions of views again. I know...it sounds like a joke, but it isn't.
@@Mantinhas His shorts are really funny though.
My brother used to watch rwj, I think the main point of his success was the time it was made and the audience being 12-14 year olds.
Damn i love Jupiters ending wish you didnt skip it
same i got pretty upset about that
Bro I feel like you have an attention span of a goldfish
Every live streamer
Are you saying this as a genuine criticism? Or do you just disagree with the opinion?
This is an abridged version, its not a full vod or anything so he does listen to most of the song
It’s sad when some of their “best” songs, like Just A Friend, are straight up covers of existing songs. That being said, WOW, that Love the Way You Lie cover is one of the worst things I’ve ever heard
nothing on fucking earth could ahve prepared me for "featuring mike posner"
Damn why would they annihilate High Voltage with a cover like that???
I wont lie i love all these songs. I know they are objectively bad but idc i enjoyed as a younger kid and still do a little
agreed i don't care if your favorite martian is cringe now i still fucking love their music and will continue to listen to the tracks because i can do what ever the HELL I WANT
Bro got no taste in music
This is even more of a worse punishment than waterboarding
I just realized brad watched these on his channel instead of a guest account screwing up his recommendations. Bigger balls than me if I was to do this video concept.
The fact that Brad is enjoying Your Favorite Martian than half the albums he reacts to makes me question humanity
nvm
you say that with a bladee album as pfp 🤔

Weezer is amazing
I was a huge RWJ fan back when I was like 12 and I was super into a few of these YFM songs. Some I hated even then, but I have nostalgia for some of the ones I liked.
I think the thing is... You're exactly right. This is for edgy 12 year old boys. But I think they knew that. RWJ knew his audience. He was making this shit for edgy kids who were outcasts. Its not really meant to be profound or good lol. And its very of its time, which hurts it a decade later.
now I need a video of Brad listening and reacting to every ERB song. Some of those are kinda bangers tbh.
Some of this is so bad that my brain doesn't even process it as music
Legitimately the worst music I've ever heard. But I love it
i think it’s wild that i remember seeing your favorite martian on tv. i will say that zombie love song slaps though
The YFM TV videos on RUclips, such as "YFM on Adult Swim 2009," are all fake
thanks to your videos i've discovered ajr - woody allen and me and my brother cannot stop listening to the intro and i cannot stop crying of laughter so thank you
“I should hate this but I’m entertained” is basically a perfect descriptor of your favorite martian. It’s terrible. It’s awful. It’s offense… and yet… there’s something remarkable about the specific ways it’s terrible
Mr. Douchebag is so hated because the version vocoded to Gangster Paradise sounds so much fucking better
Brad are you still alive after this challenge???
After seeing this I decided to listen to Take Over Da World
Honestly the first time I listened to it in full I found the chorus obnoxious but I actually liked the rest of the song
Then I listened to it a few more times and it grew on me a lot
I genuinely enjoy a lot of awful music so I'd rate it a personal 9/10 and from a less personal and more objective standpoint probably a 5/10, 7/10 with a less obnoxious chorus
you are a damn trooper for this
Bro complains about the smallest details 💀
9:48
That might have something to do with the fact that that particular song became a meme a couple of years ago, so a lot more people who weren't fans of it probably had exposure to it than normal.
tbf, douchbag vocoded to gangsters paradise slaps way more than any of YFM's songs ever could originally. and ngl, we need someone to remake the vocoded version as a legit track.
I love most of his songs TBH. Really glad YFM is coming back.

I'll admit some of these songs are a guilty pleasure for me. This isn't McDonald's of music. This is the deep fried Oreo of music. Judge me all you wish. You're not wrong.
I’ll admit, if I want a goofy thing that isn’t by a good artist I’ll listen to something like club villain.
That FFYR one is such a spit on MCA's grave it hurts, I thought YFM was ok and funny for a few songs but when I listened to most of the tracks it hurt more and more to hear them. Can't believe you survived the torture lol, I couldn't handle half of it.
why does he have that demondice flow 😭😭😭😭😭
"Why bring out a candle when you don't even care to see the light"
Man that gave me so much second-hand embarrassment my lips got dry and wrinkly like the rest of my body💀
My favourite Martian is the guys from destroy all humans 2
Rip Bradley. You will be missed😔
After all these years YFM is officially back, they just put out a new song.
Grandma's got a Facebook has genuinely made me laugh and it's one of the only times I've laughed at YFM. DJ's parts absolutely make it
i had someone flirt with me by sending your favorite martian is. he was really pushing and saying “‘complicated’ is so us” a d i wanted to throw out my headphones.
do you have the willpower to listen to the remaining yfm tracks or are you ending it here
No way.
YFM gets way to much hate honestly, I will die on this hill.
based
exactly, and this is coming from a new fan. some of their songs aren't even objectively meh, for example, jupiter is basically an objectively good song. and even if people dislike yfm, i dont understand just wanting it to burn to the ground and perish, i dont understand the spite that people build up for yfm. while a lot of their songs arent necessarily good in an objective sense, people just act like it is the worst thing that has ever been introduced to the earths surface.
get ready, because they’re making a comeback LMAO.
I VERY much disagree with this I think ray and yfm is amazing
agreed
Absolutely.
Of course
going through all of those songs makes a man lose his sanity faster than not sleeping for a month
Look, alien and road rage are unironically good and I’m tired of pretending it’s not
zombie love song really isn't that bad
Your favorite Martian is good
