One of the best post to change the stock on the vr80 i just bought 1 this post was very helpful ty !!!!!!!
Thank You for sharing this Video on replacing the pistol Grip and Stock on the VR80 Shot Gun “ Nice”
My pleasure, more to come!!
The Luth AR Chubby grip is great grip. Thumb gets a 'shoulder' to push down with and the right side and bottom have 'shoulders' to help keep things down as well.
It also keeps my right hand away from the Ambi Safety!!
Thank you! Helpful. Got 'er done.
Glad you found it helpful and you got your project done.
Thanks for watching!!!
Thanks for the video. It is very helpful. I am confident that I can do this swap now. The heads up on the commercial vs milspec buffer tube is very helpful. Also good thing you checked the threads on the pistol grip bolt.
I was thrilled with the fact I could use standard AR Grips and stocks with this. A few years have passed and the 3 Gun shooters are taking to this shotgun. There's so much new stuff for it out there now. Great parts out there!!
Honestly. The factory bustock is a solid beast. Not great looking, but you give give something a beating with it. Additional function 😆
It is sold and I have seen folks leave the stock and cut off the Thumb Hole and replace the Grip only!! The Grip is NOT comfortable at all
Thanks for the help just installed my stock and grip with ease by watching your vid
Cool, what stock and grip did you install??

Thanks for watching!!
Thanks for the information on the stock and grip replacement, can you tell me if the MBA 4 stock and chubby grip will fit the vr82 ,20 guage version of the vr80 , Thanks for any help
The stock that I want to use needs a milspec tube. I heard that in addition to replacing the tube, there’s also a mil spec conversion baseplate I need to order for the VR80. Are you familiar with this?
You are correct. The part is available for approx.$35.00. The part prevents the 'tube' from working loose! See the internet, I don't have he link.
industrial athlete60 Thanks for the reply. I actually figured out that I have a Gen2, so I don’t need the adapter plate.
Any idea if the VR82 (20 gauge) is the same as this. Excellent video btw, thanks you
Sorry, never tested the VR82, I should get one and test it!!
Do you have a video on how to install a kynshot hydraulic buffer in a VR80?
No, sorry, I do not.
I wonder what the finished gun looks like
What would you like to see??
There's a Video of me shooting the finished gun, but there's more to come, I will be installing a Red Dot on it!!
The gun put back together to see how it changed the appearance. With close ups. I want one of these but they are not available yet in Canada.

@@yrsued Sir, what's the overall length of the gun with the new stock retracted? I'm planning to do the same modification to shorten the length. Thanks.
Do you know which third party pistol grip with foldable stock would fit the RIA VRPA40 shotgun? thanks
To be honest, I have never even heard of the VRPA40, I'm sorry I can't help you there, maybe some other viewer can.
Can you add a beaver tail grip to the lower such as a magpul MOE? Wondering if the beaver tail matches up with the lower just as an AR lower. Also could you post a photo of the finished gun?
Baba Bobo yes you can, you can use ANY AR grip...
I have an Ergo on mine. The beavertail doesn't match 100% ... Similar to how they line up on an AR10
IntenseImage nice, thanks for the feedback.
Looks great!
Not only looks great, but it's MUCH MORE Comfortable to shoot!!
Yamil. Your videos are excellent in many ways. However, they assume the user is a follower or enthusiast that has far more knowledge. For example. While I really like this modification, and I own the VR-80. Even Luth-AR cannot tell me which of their stocks works with this shotgun (I know I just got off the phone with them). One thing I would suggest is that rather than tell me how to make a movie in your initial comments, why not give us the links/part numbers for the actual parts. As of today 12/19/2019 they have 5 separate LUTH-AR stocks including the MA-4 mentioned in this video. However, they sell them as simple stocks and stocks with different type of buffer kits. The Chubby the choice was what color. I may be a moron but since the salesline can't tell me which stock/parts I need perhaps you might consider this for future videos. Your recent video of the MA-5 makes it much more desirable but do I need just it or a special buffer kit to make it work with this platform. Thanks for great videos but some of us need it simpler. I am the type of person who looks at the box when assembling toys to make sure I have it right so a final image of the weapon would also be appreciated.
This is sad that they can't tell you what product you need, tomorrow, the guy that runs their website will be here reloading some 9mm with me, I will let him know!! Who did you speak with?? You don't need to buy a Buffer Kit, you need an MBA-3, MBA-4 or MBA-5!! I'm partial to the MBA-5 now, I liked the 4 first, but the 5 rocks the house!! Color is your choice!!! The Buffer Tube underneath the factory stock is a Commercial Tube, you just remove the factory stock and install the Stock of your choice. Like I said, MBA-5 and a Chubby, that's it!!
@@yrsued I spoke to the person at 3:30pm CST don't remember his name. I am going online now to order. Thanks for the quick response. As a follow up I was able to order both and they will actually get here in time for Christmas. Thanks you once again.
@@mikec1341 Excellent, I think you will like them. These stocks are both comfortable and durable and the price is very nice indeed.
Does anyone know the weight of the original stock/grip part? I'm looking to replace to reduce weight but curious for comparison.
I don't know where mine ended up, but the MBA5 and the Chubby or Wing from Luth-AR are MUCH lighter!!
Yamil, I'm changing out the stock VR80 butt stock this week, with a Luth-AR MBA-5. The "pad" on that MBA-5 feels like a stiff, hard plastic and not a (more forgiving) rubber pad. I guess I'll be adding a slip-on Limbsaver recoil pad to help mitigate recoil, but I was wondering - in your experience - just how bad was the recoil with the stock MBA-5 pad? Also, do you - or does anyone - know if there is a model Limbsaver that permanently mounts onto the MBA-5 stock?
Remember, the MBA5 was originally designed to be an AR Platform stock, It was never designed to be a Shotgun Stock. Regretfully enough, I don't think there is a Limbsaver pad for the MBA-5, I wish there was!!
Can you post the link for the stock and buffer tube I’m looking for a mil spec
Sorry, RUclips frowns on that and the posts get deleted!! Go to the Luth-AR Site, it is very simple to follow!!
Can this procedure be done without removing the lower from the upper
Yes you can, but I did it this way to make it easier to maneuver!!
@@yrsued Thank you great video
@@redstingraycorvette My pleasure!!
P.S. I find it interesting that the Allen Wrench used is SAE but the threads are Metric?!?
Ya, I found that interesting too!!
Would this work on a VR70

Hi what’s the difference between 2 3/4 shells and 3” shells are 3” considered a heavy load reason for asking I noticed the piston I had on when I disassembled it says light think I’m gonna go with the other that says heavy but I’m only going to shoot slugs please enlighten me
OK, that describes the Length of the shell and yes, the 3" is more powerful, More Powder and more BB's!! There are some Low Recoil slugs, we shot them and they are awesome, look at the Video where we shot the Shotgun with the Grip and the Stock installed, at the end we use some of those Law Enforcement Low Recoil slugs!!
Are you saying that the mil-spec tube threads are the same as the commercial tube threads??
The Threads that go into the receiver, where the Castle Nut go are EXACTLY the same, or they should be!! That is why you can put either a Mil Spec or Commercial Tube on your AR Frame!! IF they are NOT the same, they are out of spec!!

The Maverick line of Mossberg Shotguns is their entry level line, same quality at a lower cost.

Can you tell me more about the Maverick 88 and what is the best trigger if I wanted to replace the trigger just asking your opinion I'm new in the gun world I'm planning to purchase a shotgun for home defense
Please tell me what the Maverick 88 is before I can tell you...
PEDRO JUAN TORRES with the Mavericks 88 I would not bother trying to upgrade the trigger. It is a very dependable budget 12 gauge and that’s all it should be. If you want to spend more money on accessories then my suggestion would be to move up into a little bit bit better firearm like mossberg 500, 590, or 930. I say that because by the time you buy all of the upgrades to make that budget firearm more accurate, you could have just used that same money to buy a firearm that has the qualities that you are looking for. I hope Im Not stepping on any toes. It took me a long time to figure out that it sometimes best and even cheaper to just purchase the firearm that really suits most of your needs so you don’t have to do a lot of piecing together later. That can get really expensive.and all for a budget firearm. 😉 I hope you find what you are looking for bro.
Sup yamil. Got my lynx and my Pak 9 .ready to go to the range whenever u r. lol
Sounds like a plan!!
Can you tell me who makes that Mil Spec 2 Buffer tube? I like the look of that .
Thank you.
I can't tell you because this is NOT a Mil Spec Buffer Tube!! The Shotgun comes with a Commercial Buffer Tube from the factory!! There's NO REAL need to get a Mil Spec Buffer Tube, there's a plethora of GREAT Commercial Stocks out there.
Ok, thank you Yamil.
@@756766 I would highly recommend the Luth AR MBA-3, MBA-4 or MBA-5, they fit both Commercial and Mil-Spec Buffer Tubes...
Did you test if you can put a mil-spec buffer tube on the vr80
You can, but you have to modify it slightly on the end, when it catches the Buffer retainer, you don't need a buffer retainer, but it's very slight!! I will be installing a Rifle Buffer Tube on it
@@yrsued I noticed when I took off the commercial stock that buffer retainer ball flew the hell out took me an hour and a half to find it is that the part you're saying you don't need I wonder why the hell they put it in there if you don't need it. I did screw on a mil-spec buffer tube which one on fine but the end plate from the gun does not fit over a mil-spec buffer tube unless you take a Dremel and Sand some material way. I'm just going to get a commercial stock
@@pilotguy1141 Yes, what I meant to say is that it's a totally different system than the AR, I will be using a Rifle Buffer Tube and see how that works out!!
according to RIA video on VR80 is a commercial buffer tube.
Anybody know if you can purchase the thumb hole stock and grip like that for an ar build?
You might want to contact Armscor about that!! I usually take out the Thumbhole out..
you may check to change more parts to make it 9.22r compliant. This is an imported shotgun and you can't make it telescopic stock without changing more parts that made in USA. So this video may lead public to do something illegal. FYI.
AFAIK, there's tons of US Parts on it already, but changing the Trigger will be sufficient.... I will end up changing a ton of other parts on it
They went with this stock to make it easier to import, Armscor replaced a ton of parts with US Parts already and give it a few months, with the 3 Gunners finding more about it, parts will be abundant in the near future!! This weekend a HUUUGE 3 Gun Match happened here in Mesa, these were everywhere!!
Does anyone know the OAL with the stock collapsed?
The Luth-AR MBA4 collapsed on the first position is 37". IT can collapse further but not locked on one of the holes of the stock.
Note, the MBA3 will be a tad longer on the same position due to the extendable butt pad.
People love firearms with stripped out screws.
Please explain, I don't get what you're talking about, NOT a single Scew was stripped on this gun...
Is it mba4 or mba5 you installed
I installed the MBA4, but the 5 fits just the same, I actually prefer the MBA5 over the 4, but that is personal preference!!
Is it legal to swap this in ca if it has a fixed mag?
Just wanna let you know in case you didnt find an answer it is legal to do this
Bought a Luth AR stock. Won't fit my brand new VR 80. Like not even close.
OK, what stock did you buy??
The VR80 ONLY takes MBA-3. MBA-4 or MBA-5!!! If you bought an MBA-1 or MBA-2, those WILL NOT Fit, this are for Rifle Buffer Tubes ONLY!!!!
IF you bought a don't
so does changing the stock and grip made the shotgun shoot better? or just look "better?"
Doesn't make YOU shoot better, it makes it MUCH more comfortable for YOU to shoot!! At least it did for me!!
the Luth AR Chubby with this stock... 👍
I thought the original stock was good enough - but this combo is so good. The stock hugs the shoulder at low ready and stays snug as it pivots up. Maybe the cushion in it gives less slam back at recoil and maybe a more rigid stock would help cycle a lighter load(but you'd feel it more too?) grabagun.com/adaptive-tactical-ex-ar-rfl-stk-mil-spec.html
Do you know if you can do this with the VR 60?
In all honesty, I couldn't tell you, I have never handled a VR-60. I can ask around though.
Can you use any ar grip?
Yes, but be aware that you MUST use the original screw that came with the VR-80, the American screws that ship with most AR Grips won't fit. Use the AR Grip that fits your hand the best!! I used this one because it fits my hand and helped my hand from hitting the Ambi Safety!!

Joe San Agustin my pleasure.
i have a VR80 but i want to change the stock and they said i can do it by changing the buffer tube using a mil spec buffer tube and i happen to have both the stock B5 system and a mil spec buffer tube but when I try installing it how do you install it? because the mil spec tube has the oval groove and the VR80 lower has a circular indentation for the castle nut plate to sit in but a regular mil spec plate the indentation is not circular its oval so you cant put it on and the VR80's plate wont go on a mil spec buffer tube because the small square notch that rides on the tube it self is larger so it can slide on it so I am confused as to how people do it?
I never changed the Buffer Tube, The Luth Stock os both Mil Spec and Commercial Compatible! FYI, there is NOTHING wrong with a Commercial Tube. Save money, time and aggravation and get a Commercial Stock!! That is what I did here!!
There are several companies that make plates to install standard Mil Spec Tubes on the VR80. They weren't available when I made this Video, so I left the Commercial Tube the shotgun came with. I saved Time and money!! I love the Luth Stock, it is soooo good!! Now, with the MBA-5, it is so comfortable and easy to install!!
@@yrsued oh ok... since I already had an extra B5 system stock I wanted to put that one an not have to buy another stock.
@@dreamkiss4u Yes, I get that, but you will have to buy a new Buffer Tube and a plate to install it, that might end up costing yo more money. That is what I meant by being cheaper and easier.
@@dreamkiss4u FYI, the Mil Spec Plate From M3 Tactical Tech (REALLY GOOD PRODUCT) is $35, then a Buffer Tube and time or labor to instal the parts
@@yrsued I have tons of extra buffer tube and plates that I don't use from deals that come with them free so that's not my issue since I already own many extra parts, I just wanted to throw those parts on it but I see that the VR80 has a proprietary buffer plate after trying to swap the parts I noticed that and lots of people don't mention it. But it's not as easy as people make it seem by saying just add a milspec buffer tube and your milspec stock in which I thought it would be like that so now I'm asking questions and trying to find a video that shows how, but the parts aren't an issue I have lots of extra parts.

If i’st not broke, don’t fix it. I think it looked good as is.
And that is your choice, 99.999999999% of VR80 shooters have changed them for a reason... You know why that reason is?? This is the way it should look like from the factory, Derya!! It has a Thumbhole for Import reason especially 922r Restrictions!! IT was meant to have an AR Grip and stock, that's why it has an AR Commercial Carbine Buffer Tube underneath that abomination it ships with for Import!!
Yamil R. Sued mine handles well stock. As does my vrpa 40
@@RED5Scum If you like it, it's your gun, you do as you wish, that is NOT the way the Derya guns were manufactured, they were build like this for the US Market and 922r restrictions.
@@yrsued I have to remove the standard stock because it is uncomfortable to shoot, which is why i'm guessing most everyone changes the stock also?
@@NoBody-ro3xj That is the main reason, I like fixed stocks, but this one was very uncomfortable. When I fired it, the ambi safety dug into my right hand!! Once I changed the grip, problem gone!!
Thank you for the video
