In Nathan's defense in most backstories Shaggy is a varsity gymnast, and in some they go so far as to say he tried out for the olympics. Also in the first episode of Scooby Doo they show that he has enough of vertical leap to get into a second story window, add onto that the fact that he run at the speed of a great dane, about 20-35mph and he can maintain that speed while carrying Scooby and/or Velma, I think it would be fair to say that Shaggy should be pretty fit, like maybe not completely jacked, but at least pretty shredded.
And has one hell of a lung capacity with an insane v02 max

Why did I have to scroll down so far to find this comment? I agree. Our dog is only a demi-dane, and even after a period of intensive weight lifting, my spouse is not remotely close to being able to lift her, let alone carry her. With dogs, you've got the weight aspect, but also the 'sack of jelly dead weight' factor. It's a tricky prospect all around, and I think that it would easily result in becoming ripped.
@@1000PaperBunnies In my experience, danes are pretty chill much of the time. I knew one who had it out for medium-sized dogs, but other than that could barely be bothered to go for a walk. Mine can get a bit frisky, even in her old age, but I think that's the lab portion.

@@emisformaker aww, my mom's fiancée has an older adopted great dane and he's the biggest baby... literally and figuratively. lorge and intimidating but he's ultimately a gentle giant who is riddled with anxiety.
also I very much agree, anyone who can hold an adult great dane would be shredded. a lot of the time, shaggy isn't lifting him, but scooby is *jumping* into his arms. he's still engaging his core muscles, but surely to hold him he's also engaging some arm and shoulder muscles to keep holding him, right?

If I had to predict which of the crew would end up pulling off a flawless, indignant, "You're gonna look at me and you're gonna tell me that I'm wrong??" I would not have guessed Nathan, but I'm so glad it was him. Just immaculate.

Per the fanfic math discussion, I did a data analysis project on this during college!
My data-set of ~6 million works from AO3 had an average word count of 7006.6. I'll use the number of English works tagged with Astarion on AO3 used in the video: 14,673. And from my google search, the average silent adult reads fiction at 260 wpm.
Using those numbers, it would take ~395,414 hours, which amounts to ~16,475 days and ~45 years of only reading.

Sprinting is a surprisingly effective muscle builder. Shaggy does a lot of sprinting, sometimes with big dog in his arms. Seems to me like he'd be kinda jacked

Just to validate Nathan, it is stated in several iterations of shaggy that he actually is the most athletic of the group, and he's actually pretty strong in tandem with being lithe

I was at the LA Live Show where Nathan had to draw upside-down Astarion, and then in the follow-up stream Nathan also drew another upside down Astarion. In the stream he said it was neither his first nor second time doing upside down Astarion, so I was so curious where the third upside down Astarion was going to come in. We got our answer!

How could Nathan be expected to know anything about a character if he hasn't pounded them raw? Obviously bg3 is nothing more then nasty sex, not an interesting adult story about a bunch of fucked up queer folk that also includes sex if you want to take it in that way, right? (That's what the pissy reviewer men tell me at least. >3> No but really, it bugs me when people act like crpg's with romance and queerness are "just" about sex or only ever talk about the sex.)

I definitely went and double checked since Three Houses does have gay characters the player can't romance. Claude should be romancable, but I do respect the game just has like Petra who's definitely gay just not for you.

the messed up thing is that like 85% of the gay options are women who are mostly in black eagles, dragon pope, your inner demon or Mercedes. And then the men include, murderer with Jeritza, an absent father who friend zones you, a good father that just adopts you basically, the gayest dlc boy who is just Leon from shadows of valentia again, and Linhart.
I don't even care that Claude isn't bi, but damn, they lack any variety. Even in post game endings, the closest thing we have is what? Sylvain and Felix visiting each other constantly? Why do the women get Petra outright being with Dorothea but the men don't get any semblance of confirmation? The one fire emblem character I will never accept is straight tho is Chrom from Awakening. They gave him a Valentine's Day duo unit with male Robin and it's called the Exalt's Other Half. They deny they gay so hard it circles back to just being even more gay.
Astarion does turn into a bat, but only in the epilogue, and only if a certain story choice is made. Astarion is also a High elf, not a half elf, so he basically was a child in elf years when he was turmed.

To be totally fair it wasn’t meant to be a sex is bad type thing, he doesn’t lose his soul until the peaceful post sex bliss as he laid in bed with her, and at least in my interpretation and most I’ve seen, it’s the love and beauty of the post sex moment that caused his moment of true happiness, not the climax itself. Just an interpretation, I think it’s interesting/food for thought.
Also if anyone’s specifically interested he loses his soul in s2 episode 13, surprise, and the fallout is episode 14, innocence.
Buffy didn’t tend to demonize intimacy and actually had one of the very first on screen main character lesbian couples on tv, and I won’t deny that certain aspects don’t age well at all, sex=bad wasn’t really on the agenda

ao3 is pretty streamlined but also that requires authors to be properly tagging their work which is... not as common as one would hope
Sorry Karina i have to agree with Nathan. Shaggy was the jock of the group, he's the best a gym and did track and field. He ate every and any food and could reliably lift Fred. Fred had the show muscles, having done wrestling and other sports, Shaggy had the usable all around musculature of a man who uses it.

I was going to use my one allotted comment to praise the editing (AWESOME choice of Chris Pine and Shaggy pics, David!), but instead I'm going to have to say that Um, Actually, Nathan, Shaggy's sandwiches wouldn't have any meat in them, because Shaggy has canonically been a vegetarian since 2002 after Casey Kasem demanded it as a condition of returning to voice the role.
