Always good to see your videos of fishing on Hury. I have been planning to fish it ASP this season but a bit disappointed to see it having been drawn down, makes for mucky and potentially dangerous fishing. That was the main reason I stopped fishing Cow Green a few years back when the levels were kept low.
Hi if you fish the main area the wading is very good, it was me being an idiot playing in the muddy banks that was a . problem. So go and enjoy it just keep to the third closest to the dam. Regards Rod
@@roderickwalker491 Hi Rod, thanks for the advice, I had wondered when the customary stocking videos on social media from Northumbrian Water hadn't included Hury, but then again neither had the customary warnings about being careful around low water been issued either. Was there any indication when the work will be finished? Having said that I hope Northumbrian Water keep Hury open and fly only, as you say it is generally a peaceful place to fish with great scenery. The Rainbows only improve the longer they have been in the water living on a natural diet and it is always possible to catch caught brown trout and then the odd roach off the top in the summer with an F-Fly.
@@alantemple3762 I do not think there is a problem,I spoke for some time to the man that checks the tickets . He said before so much water was going over the overflow that they were worried that they would be washed down river. The first year I fished Hury it was lower and it fished very well even with brown trout. Many years ago I fished Cow Green when low it was a sea of mud, Hury is nothing like that. Regards Rod
